Are games bcoming to noob friendly?
Opinions? Are games becoming to noob friendy? For the most part, games nowadays come off as way to easy for me, and really others must agree. The only difficult games nowadays are games made by CAVE. True pros can only beat those without damage on the highest difficulty (achievement for it). Whats AFs take? Still tough or easier?

agreed!
Just like auto-correct is trying to be TOO nice to people who's grammar is a bit off, simply to make them feel better.

Really? I don't think so.. I spell a word wrong with only one extra letter in there and it can't recognize the word I'm trying to spell.. Delete said suspicious letter and it understands @_@ geez..
And.. I suck at games.. but I like playing sooooooo..... yeah..lol.. Though they thankfully have different difficulties. So while you play on expert, I'll just play on easy. ^_~

That was only hard due to the bugs. Now Battle Toads....

Re: Are games bcoming to noob friendly?
I havent played them but ive heard Demon Souls and Dark Souls is a pretty damn hard game. Ninja Gaiden 2 was also really hard. Mass Effect 2 was pretty hard on higher difficulties too, some parts made me crazy. Dont play too much so cant really mention any other titles.

Which NG? 2 had a unique glitch that makes Hayabusa immune to any damage.

I know what you mean. Now I find myself trying to make some games harder than they should be. In every Zelda game I play I do a 3 heart challenge just to make them more interesting. You try fighting a boss that can deal four hearts of damage and you learn quickly your shield becomes your best friend.
Don't even get me started on Ninja Gaiden. I though it wouldn't be too bad until I got to the later levels and died every 5 seconds from something attacking me.

Well I've beat all of them now. It was only hard at first because I would charge in blindly and not have any kind of strategy. Mostly it was the first one that gave me the most trouble.

Yeah. In NG its all about patience. Master difficulty is intense. Every motion counts. NG3 is by far the easiest IMO.

Re: Are games bcoming to noob friendly?
By and most I'd have to agree; games these days are too easy (although in fairness ... Halo 4 on Legendary is brutal as hell, even in 4-player co-op.)
I tend to play just racing games though, so the actual difficulty spike of the games hasn't really changed beyond simply practicing the game's physics (Grid, Blur, NFS:MW). But racing games of older eras were definitely more difficult on their hardest difficulty settings (Rollcage and Destruction Derby 2, two PSX racing games, were unforgiving as hell due to lack of rubberband) compared to games these days which blatantly make it easy to catch up if you cock up at some point.
Same goes with platformers, though I generally don't play them. To give credit where it's due, Rayman Origins DID get pretty damn hard, and it's probably the first and only platformer I've 100%'d since I last played Spyro 3 back in 2000 (I kid you not, I must have had the WR on the skateboard arena high score ... I played it that much.) The difficulty of games from my younger years compared to my older years has waned, and it's not due to me getting older and 'better' at games (having played Trackmania recently I've realised how bad I've actually gotten at it) but just because games are too easy.
The problem? If an achievement is too hard to get these days, I do get antsy. No, I don't mind some practice to get an achievement, or something that takes a lot of playing (all of the DLC achievements in NFS come to mind). I do mind when something is just stupid, but then that probably means I shouldn't be playing the game. Makes me wonder how many people got all the achievements on NFS:The Run, because that 'complete the run on extreme difficulty' achievement was a BITCH.
... I want my Genesis games damn it.

i find it strange that people need gamefaqs just to beat angry birds

Re: Are games bcoming to noob friendly?
I personally think it comes to what kind of game we are talking about.
Most shooters today yeah completely anyone can pick up those games and do good with out playing the game for a period of time.
Yet then again I play LoL ( League of Legends ) and that game is not noob friendly at all so I think it depends on the game.

Re: Are games bcoming to noob friendly?
There are some noob friendly games (SFXT, UMvC3, Persona 4 Arena, etc.) that are designed to bring in the new comers to the game. Though to master them takes practice. The Wipeout series for example is a hard racing game that punish even the most slightest error but rewards those who can master the game.

LoL is pretty noob friendly isnt it? You start at level 1 with other noobs and the game itself is not as mechanically challenging as Dota. I dont see that as a bad thing though.

First, though I could be remembering wrong since I haven't played that game in over a decade. The one with an enemy on a ledge that infinity respawns. Though admittedly that's more of a program mishap.

Not really. If you can just pick up a shooter and go even in a days worth. But to go 101-1 or get a very good game takes skill.
