Wo~w O.O The shading is awesome, and the designs wonderful and well-done ^_^ (that moon in the background...@_@) Even though the kanji is made up, it looks rather convincing indeed, nifty!
thanks rbMalees! i originally intended to spend a bit more time on the background, but my free time for art projects leaves much to be desired these days (music has been taking most of my time lately) i have a few more projects in the works that ill post soon, most of them with colors :P
thanks again!!!!
my friend hiroe always wished she was a cat, so i drew this for her to make her dreams come true :p the background looks very digital, and in retrospect, i should have drawn it instead of digitally creating it, but the effect is the same none the less. hope you guys like!

Wow, these are great polaris! The details and shading... I envy you. T_T
What are the secrets in shading? '_'
You're very detailed, the shading in the Karin picture is very well done for pencil. And the second one is so smooth!
Wow. The Karin pic is just amazing and so is the cat-girl one. You are very talented my friend!
thanks everyone! ::blushes::
practice, practice, practice! also, it is usually natural to be conservative when shading. when i look at my older pics ive noticed the shading is way more subtle. but as time progressed, i found myself being more bold and even taking some risks in my shading technique. sure i mess up my pictures sometimes, but if you want to make an omelette, you have to break some eggs.

Needless to say, these artworks are fantastic! I am inspired. :) My fav is the "sabaku kankuro no sunagakure with modified karasu" drawing.
Clearly, a lot of thought and passion has gone into creating these pictures, and they certainly prove your ability to blend detail and style. I like your unshy approach to shading too; it's a refreshing change from other artworks I've seen across the forum.
We should definitely exchange art ideas and techniques sometime!
