Oh it's that time of year again! It's a magical time, really. What am I talking about? I'm talking about cold and flu season!

So, I ask the members of AF what they do to remedy their colds. Now, I know sleep, liquids, and time are the obvious ones, but I want to know if you guys use any family remedies. What do you do when your sick? How do you spend your time as you're quarantined from family in friends as if you are a leper?
When I'm sick... I just proceed life as normal... lol I take Tylenol sometimes.
I rarely ever get sick though maybe once a year sometimes twice and it's always at the beginning of the year... go figure -_-
As for family remedies... uhhh my grandparents sometimes makes me chicken and rice and it makes me feel better in a happy way ^_^
Also... Gatorade, I always want Gatorade when I'm sick haha
I never get sick unless I have breaks from school or something fun is coming up.
Drink a ton of coca-cola, that stuff will make you feel better.
When I get sick I just go about my days normally until I get better.
I already got sick. And I could do little to remedy it since I either had to be at school or work most of the time. -_-
Eat ramen noodles -- the salty broth helps break up the sinus drainage down the back of the throat, and drinking clear liquids like water or juice help thin out mucus. And if all else fails, NYQUEL!!! A drugged nights sleep when you're sick ain't too bad. :p
does being depressed or manic count as being sick, i think so cause i was in the hospital for a month... uhh learned coping skills, and joked around... got to watch Fast Times At Ridgemont High and eat either Carrot or CheeseCake every day, that helped..
and i had sinus blockage and some tea helped... hizzah
I just got the cold these days. As always, I don't take anything. Medicine only makes matters worse. I keep smoking despite the sore throat and coughs, and I still sleep naked with the window slightly open.
My only trick: when I feel that thick yellow phlegm coming out, I never hesitate to spit it out anywhere. It cleanses your lungs quicker, though residual dry coughs will remain for awhile.
You know what made me sick in the past 2 years? The flu shot that I received. >.>
This year I didn't get any flu shot, and so far everything's good :D
The best medecine is alcohol (hot if possible) :) rhum with honey, Irish coffee, vodka with sugar and few drop of lemon's juice, wine,...
But don't over use it or it should be worst the day after xD
If i start feeling cold or flu symptoms i usually just take Dayquil and Nyquil. I also drink orange juice, green tea with ginseng(or oolong tea), water, and some sports drinks. Usually i don't get sick very often though.
Working out long before flu season is a good way to prevent getting it in the first place. I know I used to and didn't get a cold for two years.Quote:

Well, I didn't get them at my own free will. The hospital I was volunteering at made all its staff members get it. At least I didn't have to pay, but I will never get it again because it apparently makes me sick with whatever it's supposed to protect me from >.>Quote:

Take a warm shower, followed by a shot of whiskey chased by spoonful of honey.
If that doesn't work, follow-up with a Sprite, 7-Up, or Sierra Mist.
Works every time.
I wait for my body to naturally re-generate its health other than taking a little liquid medicine. Usually it goes away within a day, 3 days at most.
Haven't had a flu shot in about ten years. Closest thing to the flu I have had is allergies from hell. Anyway Pomegranate juice + Nyquil + Decongestant + 2 days will either kill or cure.
I usually drink plenty of water and rest. Most of the time, I'd go about my normal routine. Oh, and play at the park with my siblings. Strangely I always feel better afterwards.
