Re: Small Poetry Challenge
The Reason
The ash covers the hillside as the city comes down,
A lone figure rises as he sees his destroyed town,
All his reasons were just and his plans rock solid,
But in the end he had failed and his friends were much worse,
Now he is just a battered dog in a hellish cage,
He walks the burning streets in search of the one thing that holds true,
This light in the tunnel which will surely pull through,
He knows it's there but isn't sure where,
With this in mind the figure pulls through,
He searches not as prey but like a wolf or a hound,
He will chase the light until his reason is found
The city may sleep while he does not,
His dream you see is much more than thoughts.

I wanna join I wanna join I wanna join. D:
Damn, Machine's was soooo good, I can't be THAT good...
And it's a double challenge, since it's all in English. @_@
I'm gonna make it next Monday, I promise!
For now, I'll post two poems I wrote today, this time less sad. o_o
Re: Small Poetry Challenge
@OminousCloud: Wait can you repeat that? Are we supposed to have cinquain or a haiku incorporated into the poem, or are we supposed to have a simile, metaphor, and personification in the poem?
Also what is the limit on the amount of entries you can enter?

Your poem needs to have a simile, metaphor and personofication. All three of those must appear in there somewhere. The exception is, if you write in a cinquain or haiku style then your poem only needs one of those three.
You can submit multiple poems but you will only get the 1,000 Gil once.
I hope that helps

Rainbow Upside Down
Your smile [is]
A rainbow [upside down]
Your frown is like
the contour line
of the crescent moon
laying there in the sky
drifting in the sea
Absorbing into the clouds
causing them to weep.
Your blink is like a defense mechanism
You hide those eyes to hide your soul, to hide that hole
in your spirit. The winds whisper whimsical songs
to the willing ear. Take the time to listen, you just might hear it.
Your eyes speak an encyclopedia words
While your lips speak words unspoken
Your mind speaks of the silence and vacancy
Taking residency in your soon to implode heart.
Actions speak louder than words
So I've heard
But those emotions connected to the actions
are
what
speak
the
LOUDEST.

Sea of Despair
The Sea of Despair
Beckons towards its deadly waters
Perhaps a chance to sleep…
Forever.
The sky weeps,
The waters crave
Souls of the unfortunate challengers
Braving sailors take the challenge
Enchanting waves dancing like belly dancer
Captivate the crew
Sinister grin cast upon the sea
As the wind blows a sound of laughter.
The minutes turn to hours
The days turn into months
The crew starts falling
One by one
A splendid feast for the starving sea.
A jagged, rocky passway
And a windless expanse
Ferocity of thunderstorms
Terror of the night.
Yet all is said and done
A single crew member survives
But he will live to tell the tale
Of that horrid sea of despair.
