And the response from the telecom companies is?
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
Anononymous, hacktivism, and exposure of secrecy.

And what does this have to do with the topic?
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
Obviously everything. Research is a great thing. Anonymous exposes the secrecy, and they are a group of hacktivists. So it technically has everything to do with the topic.
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
Well, just stating their name doesn't mean anything topic wise. Obviously they are the ones believing that they are protecting the internet as it is, but how are they doing it? Well hacking and cracking to expose flaws in security and corporate secrets is the answer, but still it's highly vague and in many ways will amount to nothing. Raising awareness to internet users is another way of doing this, but their anonymity can hurt them as much as it helps. How am I expected to believe someone whom I only know via username? I mean it works here in this setting because you're a member and I'm a staff member, so I by the virtue of being trusted enough to act as a staff member regular users should be able to trust me in forum matters. If I abuse or misuse that trust in any way, shape, or form I am liable for forfeiture of my responsibilities as a staff member. Still, would you trust me irl when you only know me as DeathBlade? Would you trust me in legal matters pertaining to internet legislation just because I moderate on a forum? At the same time, they need that anonymity to stay safe and out of jail. So it's very much a catch 22 for them. Stay anonymous and risk not getting attention or the word out about things while looking like a jerk for DDoS'ing sites; OR go public, raise awareness, and potentially risk going to jail on conspiracy, espionage, and computer crime charges.
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
Well spoken, well I guess you could say I posted that in shock, I know I shouldn't be surprised that someone would start an anonymous-related thread. I just thought it was kind of funny.
Like I said above, great words. :) You shall get rep for that Mr. Moderator. :3

Sad that courts today are more about protecting corporate interests as opposed to people's freedom

I agree with that statement, it's the corporate companies that are the scum.
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
Well a lot of that is about the push that the average citizen vs. the push of the average corporation for what they want. How many times have you called your local senator over legislation? "Oh, but they won't listen to me because I'm too young to vote (or simply don't vote)" You're still allowed to voice your opinion, and if you create a logical argument with facts and research to back it (as opposed to ranting and raving) they might listen. Because you could still vote for them later on, or influence others in voting for them. Besides lobbying the government, corporations tend to keep tabs on legislators and willingly talk to about anything that they disagree with.
Re: Net Neutrality is Dead?
What is "net neutrality"? Neutral in terms of what?
