Do you take martial arts? If you do what type and do you think it's in any anime?
I took Mixed Martial Arts for 2 years, and I leaned a little bit. I'm pretty sure it's in a few animes
yea i tryed all that
learned noting
i knew most of it already and i kicked the instructers ... the second day there....
so
anyway
so anime's do it better than others
bot many do it that good tho
form is screwed most the time
i learned all the martial arts possible about 6 years ago or so and it is great
I used to take Kung Fu for 4 years, but then I quit and took Tae Kwon Do, about some months ago. TKD is more better than KF abit. But it's too many kicking.
And don't go into Karate, 'cuz that's just kicking and fighting dangerously and breaking equippments. Which will gonna bruise up my arms and legs.
TKD and KF are good enough for fighting.
I took crane, snake and tkd
I did that too....Quote:

South Korean Military Style Tang Soo Do, Kendo Fencing, and Weapons Combat.
I am Currently doing Judo
I took Tae Kwon Do for a while. I want to go back but I'm not sure I'm fit for it.
I take Korean Tae Kwon Do.
I'm not sure if this fits in but the one where you can flip people over your sholder. I forgot the name of it though.
Yes, and yes.
TKD (I know it's common, but it's because it's common that I got the chance to do it. I don't have the resources to go hiking to a Chinese Kung-Fu temple -_-).
It's pretty popular with anime fight scenes, since most of both categories revolve around kicking (the most famous, the side kick).
Hello everyone,
Let me start off by giving a brief intro to the martial arts that I learnt in my country. It is called Swarga Chakra Martial Arts (literally means heavenly wheel martial arts). I was trained in a temple town known as Madurai, India. Other forms of martial arts present in this South Asian country (India) are Kalari (Mother of Martial arts) and Thang Ta (The Art of the Sword and Spear). We also practice some Southeast Asian martial arts, mainly those from China. In Madurai, we were trained near a temple and the training platform was on water (rectangular Wooden planck, which had four pillars in each corner). Each student had their name engraved on a stone tile in front of the temple, where their are asked to sit to perform Yoga and meditation. I would like to give the names of my best friend with whom I practiced martial arts: Ruru, Kuru (they were twin brothers), sloka and Haruki (he is Japanese BTW). I have so many stories to tell, but I would love to hear from you as well. By the way, these South Asian (Indian) martial are not shown in any anime series. But the anime that I am writing will have a lot about Swarga Chakra swordfighting and martial arts style in it.
TKD fore ever not only is stylish it also makes you fast if you train hard, and yeah it is in anime, i do tkd for about three years and i been in competition twice got silver both.Quote:

i took shorinji kempo in about 4 years its in a manga called W Juliet
Well its not exactly Martial Arts, but I took Self Defense Training at the Police Dept in my area. Its kinda a mix of martial arts and kick boxing. It works quite well, however it mainly teaches me how to restrain and incapacitate an oponet. Mainly with arm bars, and using your own weight against the other person.
Thought its simple, and I know I can't get mixed into a long duration fight with someone with alot of MA training, I did restrain someone who had taken Karate for 3 years however. He was a friend of mine actually, he was becoming adgitated with me about something I had said, and when he tried to punch me, I grabbed his wrist. Spun it around his back, wrapped my hand around his index, ring, and middle finger. Pulled back on his entire hand and I slammed him up against a wall. He continued to strugle So I yanked back on his hand and as soon as I started to nudge him to the ground he went down right away. I put my knee's over his back and held him there like that untill I could get a teacher to come and help me.
That was all in one quick motion, took about 2 seconds for me to get him up against the wall, then another 2 or 3 to get him to the ground. Though its not a kinda of fighting style. It does what its suppose to do and effectivly.
well.............i been taking chinese martial; arts for almost 1 year, not bad..but first day you go like living hell @_@
what people get wrong when they hear martial art or anyone does martial art they quickly think ooooh he/she is bad*** or he/she is dangerous, but the true meanng of martial art WAS to deffent yourself, it was made when countries been raided and people start to learn the close combat then later some people learned where to strike the body to make it weak, imobilised or even to shut it or destroy it, but now its only use for selfdence, confident and controling yourselves, and thanks to some dumb hollywood director and actor martail arts such as karate looked stupid and dorkish.
few things to know about true martial artists,
1. they rarely talk about their knowledge about martial arts
2. they are very cool(as cool not stressed out)
3. they control they own emotion
4. a true martial artist punch and kicks not like the ones in movie
.....more will be added later :P
I know a lot of different and diverse forms of martial arts, but I will try to give names of them and duration of my training. Okies?
-Aikido: I had four years of training in Kyoto under a sensei, whom I respect a lot. Simply enjoyed learning it, but I want to take it a little further.
-Judo: I had two years of training in my four year stay at Tokyo under a female sensei, who was a simply amazing lady. Oh, she is a Korean, though.
-Swarga Chakra: I had eight to nine years of training with my most respected master, Sensei Vali-sama. He is simply a BADASS both mentally and physically. I still work under him at the Temple, and at the martial arts school.
-Tae kwon do: I just started learning it, about 2 months. And, I like it very much.
-Muay thai: Like about 4 months or so. It is sooo cool...I love to kick ***. Haha.
I also know how to use various weapons, but I will end it here.
i've been taking karate since i was 4 and i'm 18 now. And yea it been used in alot of anime's seeing how Karate uses just about all of the Martial Arts.
