Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
What the hell is going on with today's cartoons?
I woke up this morning and threw on Cartoon Network while getting ready for morning PT. This horrendous show came on called - "Almost Naked Animals", now if you haven't seen this show count yourself lucky. It's literally animals of all kinds running around, completely hairless, in underwear or boxers. Also a few of them speak like they have down syndrome. Growing up in the 90's, I watched shows like, Sailor Moon, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and the list goes on. I could probably go watch Boomerang and see a few of the old ones. But still, the only decent shows I watch on CN now are Regular Show and Adventure Time. I love that Toonami is back though.
Same thing goes with Nickelodeon, it's turning into a reality show network. What happened to Rocket Power, Doug, and so on. Guess this was more of a rant then anything..
I guess I just wanna hear everyone's opinion on the subject...

Cartoon network is actually having their 20th birthday so they're showing some old stuff. But I only watch Cartoon Network now for Adventure Time, and DC Nation on Saturdays. :P

You forgot to add Regular Show to that list. :p No seriously it's hilarious. DC Nation meaning Young Justice? Then I watch that as well.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
it's really...a shame actually but i watch some of those 90s shows on the internet...or netflix on my computer.
it's dumb, like that wrestle mountain or whatever? what is that with the guy that is made entirely of butts?
or that one show where they had a rip off of Domo? Alfee I think....
I wanted to gouge my eyes out
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
I miss Flapjack and Chowder... also Timmy Turner. Oh yeah, and Almost Nekkid Anmals is terrble.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
I don't remember cartoons back then being all-glorious. I find it most ironic that you mentioned Rocket Power. That show was one that certainly tried too hard with flashing words on the screen that were supposed to be cool. I never really cared for Rocket Power.
I have not watched many of the new cartoons on either channel, but I do really enjoy Regular Show for some reason. That along with MLP:FiM is enough to keep my faith in current cartoons alive.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
Well heres the thing you when you were that age it was like gold! BUT if watch it again it'd be as "dumb" as any show on now.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
The only show I watch on CN, is Adventure Time.
Everything else blows goats, in my opinion.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
The new generations of children were born for retardation. That is all.

Rocket Power got me into skateboarding. 'nuff said.
Also this is why I'm glad I don't watch cartoons any more (anime =/= cartoons. anime = japanese animation .... different. >_>). It's just ... stupid. Nothing that's been on in the past five years has been interesting. I think the seriously most recent two new shows CN ever put up that I liked are Megas XLR and Ben 10 but hey, guess what? Those are 'anime-styled' so ... go figure!
Chowder? I actually like Chowder. It can be pretty funny, but it's not as good as things from 10 years back. Not as good as courage the cowardly dog. Not as good as rocket power. not as good as rocko's modern life. not as good as ren and stimpy. hell, even the earlier episodes of spongebob were better.
... kinda makes you understand why kids these days have become more degenerate. they can only be as brain-dead as the shows they're forced to watch...

i dunno about that one. I'd still watch johnny bravo without question. And thats probably not the only one.
IMO if we are talking about new cartoons..... disney channel's "Gravity falls" is hilarious.. random like adventure time kinda is. really funny and qwerky overall

It's sad but true. I woke up this morning to my 8 year old sister listening to Nicky Minaj. I had to purify her by locking her up in her room with an hour and a half of Queen...
But yes, today's TV programs are rotten to the core, brought into existence as cash cows, and kids born now probably don't know better than that...
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
Don't you guys think your TV shows were retarded too? I'm sure that's what previous generations thought...

I thought about this a lot, so I figured I'd just ask people from the previous generations :P. Even my grandpa (who absolutely hates TV unless it's football) said that "Pokemon was decent, at least it thought kids about how they should value their friends". He never watched it with me though, my grandma did.
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
My nan apparently likes Sailor Moon.
Just ... y'know, throwing that in. Even though it's like ... not a nick/cartoon network cartoon.
... Also I miss Invader Zim. And Hey Arnold! I never saw all of Hey Arnold! you know. Hell, haven't even seen every episode of courage the cowardly dog. But I'd rather watch those than ... whatever the god's sake is on these days. adventure time? uh... what? I could 'tolerate' that one with the park ranger animals (I think one of them was called Mordecai ... lolwut?) but seriously, that's it. Flapjack makes me barf. It's not even funny. It's awkward. :L
Re: Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network
I miss Teen Titans. :/
Why you cancel it, damn it!
