A Suspiciously "Wet and Firm" Diaper
Yes, that was what our lovely people at the TSA said was their justification for having a 95 year old, cancer stricken woman to remove her under garments in order to get through security at an airport.

I have seen some crazed stuff at airports, heard some more; but this is just a bit off the deep end. Thoughts?

She might have been carrying a bomb in there!
Not every terrorist looks like the stereotype most will conjure up.
Re: A Suspiciously "Wet and Firm" Diaper
I mean when I travelled to the U.S I had to take my shoes off through security control, never known anything like it, I should sue for the mental trauma it caused me

This has nothing to do with bombs, it's just theater. Dogs can be trained to detect explosives (and firearms). If that isn't enough, machines can do the same job.
These measurements are going beyond what's reasonable. Even if she had a bomb in her diapers, that's a risk we should learn to live with, as there are far greater risks out there that can't be done anything about, like bird impacts and lightning.

TSA denies having required a 95-year-old woman to remove diaper
The full story. If anyone is the jerk here, it's the daughter for trying to make her 95 year old cancer ridden mother ride on a 3-4 hour plane flight in a wet diaper. Yet again, people overreacting to the TSA. People keep trying to dismantle the TSA's generally reasonable random screening procedures, but when the terrorists get the bright idea of sending a 95 year old Caucasian Muslim extremist with a bomb in their diaper on a commercial flight TSA will be the ones left with the blame.

Although, I don't have to tolerate the TSA so I have no experience on what they're like.

Hey, the TSA is all over it. (Literally.)

So basically, serious business. Large boobs and packages are dangerous, you know.
Re: A Suspiciously "Wet and Firm" Diaper
Poor lady, unfortunately this exaggeration comes from all the terrorist attacks starting from 9/11, which completely and forever changed security in airports.
However, there's a limit for everything and I believe that limit was clearly exceeded in this sad and unfortunate situation.

I think it is absolutely horrible that it happened to the poor lady.
Still i can see the point of TSA too. It does not depend on age, but whats persons thoughts if he/she might be a threat or not.
I do think that they sometimes take it too far and i feel so so sorry for people who are honest and doing nothing wrong, but having to go through an ordeal like that.
But in same time, theres ideologys in every sorts of peoples heads. Theres people who do things for money, they are ready to die and the money will go to their families etc.
What if the headline would have been: "A 95 year old woman was carrying a bomb in her diapers"?
But yea., saying all that it is horrible, i am sure that there could have been a better way to resolve the situation.
How about smacking the daughter of that woman in the head good and hard for leaving her mom into such position with too wet diaper as someone already mentioned above.

I feel sorry for the old granny.

Really? I feel bad for the old lady who needed to get felt up by a random stranger for wanting to go on a trip.

This thread is over a year old, why are you guys bumping it?
Re: A Suspiciously "Wet and Firm" Diaper
We don't really know it's kind of an interesting thread though
Re: A Suspiciously "Wet and Firm" Diaper
The daughter and the news were not over-reacting.
The TSA are serving a good cause and should be allowed to anally check children and infants.
Do NOT refuse the cancerous X-Ray scan just to take a large, smelly dump in the private room during your anal check as a sign of protest.
99.9% of probable innocent people must be treated like 0.01% probable high-rank terrorists for the better living of all.
