VOLA & The Oriental Machine was organized in 2005 by former NUMBER GIRL and ZAZEN BOYS drummer Inazawa Ahito, who left his drumsticks and took on the role of frontman, taking on the moniker “VOLA”. They initially released an EP titled WAITING FOR MY FOOD at the beginning of 2006, followed by their first full album, ANDROID ~like a house mannequin~ in early 2007. In 2008 they released the album Halan’na-ca Darkside.
VOLA’s sound is tightly wrapped and polished, and very clean. They play a blend of alternative rock, new wave, and post-punk.
