Not dead at all. Just a bit slower than it used to be.
Pffft you should see my photography forum. It's like a damn strip club on a monday night at 3am.
This forum doesn't seem almost dead to me. I can't compare it to how it was before I joined, but it's far from almost dead.
AF is pretty much reaching that age where it loses relevancy. Most people don't use forums much anymore anyway.
Ever seen a strip club at 3am on a monday? Shits depressing. You got Crystal hanging out with the bartender because she has a thing for him but her c section scars shows she has children to feed so she probable gunna milk silky D for all his worth. poor guy. Then you got Maxi Pad Jill just grinding the pole because you know... it's maxi pad jill. it what she do. You don't know her? Get to know her then. She can do sum freaky butt stuff.
Social media has single handedly killed forums. I started going on forums back around 2002, back then there were so many people and forums springing up, always active but now that we have places like twitter and instagram and FB it allows people to discuss everything that forums let you do back in the day so places like these become irrelevant and people just move on. The only 2 other forums I go to are a Body building forum and a Movie prop forum two which are insanely active and have very very large communities. Some places thrive while others just die off.
All anime fans are using MaL now. The forums are packed and its updated daily.
Yeah.
I honestly haven't watched much anime at all lately, I think the last one I watched was maybe almost 2 months ago. I come here daily for the people at this point.
Pretty much why I still come here. I use MaL for anime purposes/discussions and come on here for the people time to time. AF just doesn't draw in many anime fans because compared to websites like MaL it is extremely lackluster. AF is fun, but I'm not shocked at all activity is this low.

MaL has 455 posters on its forum right now, so I strongly believe any anime forum could get popular again with hardwork.
You're absolutely right. I'm a member of a Mermaid Melody forum created in 2009 that is practically dead right now. But do I let that stop me? No, I don't. I just post wherever I can, whenever I can. I call it a posting rampage. That's a very easy way to make our site known to the public even more than it is now. I mean, come on. Sitting around waiting for someone to post will not make this place active.
Bottom line: if we post more, this site will be more active.
@Yoko Littner True, but I honestly don't athink anyone will ever put in the amount of effort required to revamp the site with something new and unique. People just need a reason to choose us over other sites. We don't really have anything unique. The only reason I ever found this place was because I was looking up lyrics one day and got redirected from AnimeLyrics.
So? what are you waiting for chums. Get out there, comment on everything and bring in the summer crowd. If we're lucky we'll get a new regular.
yeah sometimes the forum gets pretty stale, but that's when i put on my posting shoes and POST POST POST. there've been plenty of times when i was the latest poster in 15 threads at a time. i go on a blitz, even if it's just a bit of humorous spam here and there.
RIP in peace, AF :-(
daed forum
No! You've doomed us all!

Didn't you make a thread like this a few months back? "predicting" the dead of this place?
Is AF dead? No, I've seen dead forums. Would I consider it active? A little bit, not a lot.
AF is just a slow, but not dead. From what I've seen, activity hasn't even come close to it being dead.
And forums are NOT dead in general. The two forums I post on normally other than AF, I have a post per day of 3-4. I come here and I'll go days without an anime related topic is want to post in. Ive been posting here normally since mid 2013 and ha ejust over 200 posts. I joined a forum 2 months ago and have over 600. As mentioned, MAL has hundreds of people in the forums at any time because of the diversity of things to post in.
I just want to say that I think social networking sites are for noobs, there is the argument to say that they are starting to replace forums, but to be honest, they make me cringe.
I blame @horrendous
