Is "Sword Art Online" some gay emo cyber world shit type of anime

I am just curious, it sounds nerdy, not Star Trek nerdy though.

Is there some sort of convention going on around the area right now? I'm teling you, I keep seeing these really stupid people around the area of AF and I'd hate if you missed it OP. Oh wait, a stupid thread? Damn, I'm convinced there is a convention now!

You can say what you want but SAO is a nice introductory anime for a thirteen or fourteen year old.

Through that. Sword Art Online was my 2nd anime and one of the best i ever watch :) My first was Mirai Nikki... not a very good introductory though :o

I haven't seen it yet, so I wouldn't know :/

First of all, your title is quite offensive. In my opinion, SAO isn't that bad! I haven't seen it in like a year so I can't give you all too much detail about it since my memory's a bit foggy, but if you like fantasy animes with a bit of romance and action, then you'd probably like SAO. Especially if you're already fond of things like dot Hack, then I'd suggest SAO, because they're quite similar.

But yeah. Next time try not to use the word 'gay' in such a negative manner, please. Slurs aren't cool.

Sword Art Online isn't all that bad. To be honest I rather enjoyed watching it, used to be a big fan of MMORPG Games. As SAO basically is an anime in the world of a MMORPG it appealed to me. Ofcourse the main protagonist tends to have an emo side, but alot of animes have such a character. They had some good fight scenes, some character development/drama/romance/mystery.

Sure it isn't a masterpiece, but it's a good anime never the less.

It can be all that you want, if you go in with a serious mood, then you'll probably discover plot holes and other sorts of weird things. Which will probably result in you not thinking very highly of this anime.
If you go in with the thought that you only, and I mean ONLY want a good time when watching this anime. You might actually enjoy it.


Or atleast, you'll enjoy the first half. So, shut off your brain. Don't think, just watch whats happening and i think you'll have a great time.

I think a lot of people hate on it simply because it's so popular.. "I'm so underground" they say. At least it doesn't overstay it's welcome like the majority of mainstream shonen do. They continue to milk the crap out of a series. Either way SAO is one of the most talked about anime in a long freakin' time. I'd be curious as to why. Give it a shot.
