Hey AF! Well I'd say its a fact that 95% of AF like anime somewhat, but to what degree? Are you a Casual? Anime Fan? An Otaku? Don't watch anime anymore?
Casual: Watches anime sometimes, but not often.
Anime Fan: A fan, but not an Otaku who collects anime items.
Otaku: Full blown anime fan who can't stop their addiction for anime.
Expired Anime Fan: Used to like anime and appreciates it, but doesn't watch anymore.
Me? Def an Otaku! Been watching since 1998. You?

I'd say I'm an anime fan. I watch anime regularly, but I don't have a lot of anime items. I do want a lot though :p
I used to be an otaku, but now I'm just an anime fan.
Solid anime fan. I watch almost exclusively within the fandom.
I have the money to get a bunch of merchandise, but I always just get really small things. By small things.. Examples would be necklaces, keychains, clothing, and stickers. I never get figurines, wallscrolls, and anything beyond 25 bucks.

Hard to say. I watch it almost daily. But on the grand scale of things I enjoy doing or talking about, its really not all that high up.
From the choices I would haft to say Otaku I have a few figurines and a half dozen wall scrolls and watch anime every day....so ya Otaku.

I'd say I am definitely an anime fan, and sometimes halfway between there and Otaku.

Actually, I haven't been into it/watched any of it for a while (don't really have much leisure time these days), except on the off chance where nostalgia strikes and I want to. I do however, still harbor my large amazing sailormoon collection.
Im in the stage between casual and anime fan. I will be going to a video game/anime convention and doing some Cosplay later this year. Once I have that under my belt I will be a full blown Anime fan and possibly toeing the line of Otaku

Ulyssess 31 broke my cherry as a child i think, but i got serious in 1993 when i first saw Akira. My life changed with one film.
I think anime fan however recently i'm in between casual and fan because RL takes over me more and more
Haha well I want to go to the convention regardless and Im going to use one costume as a killer Halloween costume for a party as well (Frank from Donnie Darko) Im not sure what my second costume will be yet I want something that people will see and know but I dont want to meet 100 other people dressed in the same costume. I liked Akira as well. Definitely a Sci-Fi classic. Funny enough it was the first Anime movie I saw and I do give Akira credit for opening my eyes to this previously undiscovered (by me) world.Quote:

I'm definately an otaku-but I don't watch/read it every day. I've got a Shiz load of anime merchandise, and a *lot* of anime series under my belt, I RP it every day, go to 3 anime conventions a year and cosplay 6 different characters for them. I draw fanart out the wazoo, and I used to write fanfiction.
Though I do take my breaks from watching/reading. Right now I'm into a major Doctor Who/Supernatural phase~
I say part anime fan, part otaku, and part expired anime fan.
I still watch anime in the theaters but I rarely watch it on TV and/or DVD. I say I am mostly expired because I don't have time to watch it anymore and prefer to spend my free time outside. Part otaku because I do buy old school anime merchandise and I don't know jack about most new anime.
*gasp* I can't believe I'm in the category of Anime Fan! O.o Well, I could be an Otaku if I had the time, and I will when I'm older. I'm having a list of anime things I wanna buy, figurines I wanna collect, manga I wanna collect/read, anime to watch and cosplay to cosplay (XD). Yup, I'm waiting for my Otaku life alright.
In general I'd say I am casual, and bordeline on being ex... havent really watched an anime in months. My only good resource was netflix and well not much left on there thats any good. The few ones I liked they even took off (streaming I mean, thats all I have)!
But I am huge fan of some... I guess my tastes are narrow, especially since I didn't get into anime until I was older, and most anime is written for younger audience. So a lot of anime I don't get into, but the ones I really like I go all out. I have sank hundreds of dollars into Claymore memorabilia for example! Heck I've even though about putting a claymore window decal on my truck. But out here in the country on a 1-ton truck that might look a bit too out of place lol. And its borderline on being my favorite show of all time, so I would hate to say I'm barely casual. Guess I just need to find a way to watch more anime that whats on netflix, and time. I really havent watched a single tv episode period yet for 2013, just always busy. Heck even my forum time anymore is while I am working from home, posting here inbetween when I am waiting for changes to save and screens to load on my work machine.
