Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
Find something that needs breaking (ie a concrete slab that needs to go for a landscaping project), get a sledge hammer and smash the crap out've whatever it is. A little mindless destruction does wonders.
I don't often get that angry these days as I like the majority of my current situation, but when I do get angry I do need to take it out on something (or someone if a vandal/thug has the misfortune of crossing me while I'm seething). I do pick my target though as blind rage is never a good thing.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I let it out.In any way possible. Simple as that. I don't care if I have anger managements. I don't care who has to suffer.... so anger me and you will suffer.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I use to have some light anger issues, when I was rubbed the wrong way, even if it was over something stupid or ridiculous...but I've grown out of it over time and have learned to control myself in order to treat the ones I love with the care and respect they need and deserve. However, everyone has their own methods and what works for me may not work for you, however I've found it useful to just wait, tell yourself to simply wait 10 seconds and see what happens after that. When you have time to let your mind roll and stop for a moment, you may find that you think clearer and what you felt like saying or doing 10 seconds ago, is no longer there.
I also enjoy drawing to vent out my frustrations.

I vent my anger by exercising furiously.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I hit people with shovels. Nah, actually I hit anything on hand several times or I try and sleep. Either way I'll forget about what made me angry usually.

Same here. It's one of my worst qualities. Really. Even I hate it. But sometimes, if I'm lucky, I still have the mind to count to ten and take a deep breath. it works. but often times, in my anger, i forget that. im not the violent time, like throwing things, etc. but i can be pretty loud and keep talking until i make my point.

Hulk Smash!
I rarely get angry, like once every few years. Still, you don't want to be around when I'm angry.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I don't really get angry that often, just annoyed.
When I do get angry, my anger usually just turns into depression. And I deal with depression by going into my room (or any quiet, small/isolated, dark place) and cry for an hour or so.
When it stays anger though, I usually can't express it, so I just start clenching my arms and fist. If it comes past that, I kick objects around. I NEVER hit someone else, because if I did, I would most defiantly become heavily depressed from the thought that I harmed someone.

I beat the hell out of my punching bag.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
assuming i can get angry i'll usually drink a pot of coffee, play a bunch of games, watch stuff, and become more of a recluse. so pretty much nothing differs from my usual habits.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
It usually takes a lot of negative events to make me see red, but unfortunately there are certain "instances" that are like mental "triggers" which can set me off - and for this reason I tend to avoid getting into situations that could result in a burst of anger. Basically I have a temper, which, although mostly concealed and seldom displayed, can be sudden, random and impulsive. While I rarely display ill temper in front of people (although mental temper is another matter entirely), my one weakness is, if ever I do lose my temper, it can be explosive, and to the point where I would have no regard for the source, nor for the consequences in the moment.
There was this one incident many years back where one pathetic excuse for an existence from school tried to test me. Now I'm not saying that I'm the sort of person who would go looking a fight and I'm not saying I'm hard by any means, 'cause I'm not; however, this person set off a mental trigger by pushing me from behind, and without thinking and regardless of consequences I threw this person over my shoulder (I didn't even turn to see this fool; somehow I just knew where he was...), and then proceeded to hit him. This incident may have been easily dismissed as a typical playground scrap by bystanders, but the point is I wouldn't stop... I no longer saw a human in front of me, just a target that was nothing more than a waste of space to me and had to be erased from the planet. After the event, one bystander said that I looked "possessed" while I was hitting the guy - in hindsight I think I probably was...
So I guess I'm not really in position to give advice on anger management then. I might not lose my temper too often, but I wouldn't say that makes me an expert on anger management - and it might be worse to let anger build up over a long period and then really lose it to a dangerous level (like I tend to) than vent smaller bursts of anger ever so often. However, I have been using one new approach to anger management as of 2 years ago, which so far seems to be working and has kept me from losing it even in the most provocative situations. The key to this approach is getting into a discipline of practising a diversion, so that one can be psychologically adjusted to alter his/her perception of that which can challenge his/her temperament - For me this strangely enough involves a lot of singing (the idea being to try for hardest notes so as to widen the lungs so as to relieve more tension etc.) although the choice of diversion is less important than getting into the routine and habit of practising it.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I also get angry very quickly, I find that If I go for a run or sing until I can't stand. If it a little thing. I stop calm myself down and ask myself why I'm angry and is it worth being angry?
That's how I deal with anger.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
Two ways for me, usually. Either writing, especially a fighting or violent scene if I'm particularly angry. Or, if I'm in a video gaming mood, I have 3 steps:
1) Left 4 Dead 2
2) God Mode active
3) Baseball bat
From there, I generate hordes of zombies and swing for the fences.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I'll usually play my guitar and sing...or just go for a drive, and listen the radio.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I rarely get seriously angry. Really annoyed, yes. Angry, no.
There used to be a time in my life when I was honestly angry at everybody. I had friends, sure, but outside that circle of friends, everyone was an enemy (and it didn't help that people picked on me for being different, which only helped to confirm the whole enemy thing). Despite my anger, however, I would just ignore them; I wouldn't say anything to them. Of course, this only made me an easier target. One of my friends (whether she knows it or not) taught me that one doesn't have to take crap from people; you don't have to fight them (though she often did), but you shouldn't lay down and take it.
So that's why I don't get angry too much. Its usually a person (or a group of people) that ends up annoying me, but if they're bugging me, I'll confront them and tell them off (usually by saying something mean and sarcastic) and I'll feel better; I'm not sure how THEY feel afterwards, but frankly, I don't care (the fact is that I feel better).
Once I get home, I'll de-stress by playing my guitar, drawing, listening to heavy metal (and singing it out loud) or dancing around in a circle like a stereotypical Pagan.:)

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I don't get seriously angry much, annoyed yes. When I get really angry I try to find a physical chore of some sort. Moving a wood pile, tearing up ground for a garden, scrubbing the heck out of a dirty frying pan... what ever tires me out so I'm not mad anymore. If I can't do any of that, then I tend to have an outburst or two, then go sulk and have a good cry. Unless my husband is around... he makes me talk about why I'm upset instead of letting me be by myself for a while... :banghead: However, I haven't been angry like that for a while, but I think that is because of the meds that I'm taking for my PMDD (Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder)... Haven't been seriously upset for several months. :D
I do wonder if the OP doesn't have some sort of hormonal imbalance that could be contributing to things. Getting angry is a "healthy" part of life, but it shouldn't be an every day thing. Something else is amiss and should be attended to before things spiral.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
Before, I used to write out all my anger. But then I got tired of doing that.
Ignorance is a bliss..

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I don't really get that angry. It depends on who is annoying me. If it is a friend, then i suppress it because i like that friend but if it is someone that i don't care about i tend to point out obvious flaws that the person has that hold them back or simply ask difficult questions that they can't answer all in a monotone voice. I say it as if only observing it. It is not really insulting but they tend to look back at me with a puzzled expression because they can not keep up. I laugh away in my head at there lack of wisdom and intelligence ha ha ha haaa. Yea, thats about it.

Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I usually just sit in my room and write out letters to who I am mad at, or I just cry.
-
Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
I usually don't get angry but when I do I blast them with every bad word in my dictionary. Sarcasm makes me feel good too.
-
Re: How Do You Deal With Your Own Anger?
Rarely get angry. Well, if I did I only stay quiet and don't mix with other guys cuz if I did all I do would blame them.
Or I'll throw whatever I see around me at them saying " Sorry, I'm just releasing the fun in me " =D *smirks
