Until he jams a ghostly wooden daggar into one of their necks.

The ghosts materialize though this seems to take a moment of concentration on their part, and another has a knife jammed into their neck before it can move.
The two wounded warriors fall to the ground cluthing their throats as they become physical.
However the other ghosts draw shark toothed swords or level their spears at Mahoe. He's outnumbered six to one right now, and, if weapons matter in ghostly combat, theirs are much better.

Mahoe doesn't seem iterested in retreating and he's screaming at them in his language about killing his family. It's a little hard to follow, Andrew's telepathic ability is translating some of Mahoe's gibberish as raw rage and swearing in Andrew's mind.
