Wow. That's really.. interesting.
I think that news channel was taking it a little too seriously. Besides, if there's any real harm or danger involved, they only bring it upon themselves.
Emo threatens to kill our young? Go Emo!
Though in honesty, and I have long held this belief, that all this crap with emos or goths or school shootings - they are a reflection of the pain people feel with society itself. Not because Manson tells them too or because Mortal Kombat warped their minds, I firmly believe there is a fundamental problem with how the world itself works and that young people feel it and express it in frigged up ways.
Yes, they come across as whining, but I still think this.
I would give my honest opinion on emo but it'd get me warned or banned.
I agree but sort of disagree. I think they're right on the reason why they teens become emo, but I also think if you are emo; it's your choice. If you want to slit your wrists, carry on. I don't care, but people who care about you will care.
I just really want the whole emo trend to stop, this is the main issues I have with it:
Problems don't get solved by feeling sorry for yourself, and emo encourages this. They arent just 'emotional' people, they actually send the messege that its ok to mope around, they also thrive on depression and their problems rather then working to solve them.
People with that kind of outlook on life don't add anything to relationships, a working enviornment, or really anything in the world. While other people will be dealing with their woes and problems in a positive/affective way, they will be the ones left behind still trying to 'pick up the pieces' and complaining that life isnt fair.
Ugh...that felt like a blog entry, sorry.
Emo does not necessarily mean you cut your wrists you know, it's become more of a fashion trend then anything. You rarely find nowadays the real emo's because they are either just posers or people confuse them with goths, skaters, and scene cliques.
But emo being something that destroys youth?
No.
Emo being something that confuses adults so they're scared of it?
Without a doubt, yes.
that news report tickeled me pink. I mean, I didnt know there was a website that TOLD you how to properly dress emo!
I want that Emo Emu poster
Well, I dont really have a problem with emo kids in all honesty. I mean, theres always going to be people who'd rather whine and beg for attention rather than actually suck it up and deal with their problems, but the 'emo' group is a great place for them to go and be with all the other whiners. At least this way, we'll see them and know 'uh-oh, avoid, avoid, avoid!'
Thats the part thats most aggravating though, people that don't even have REAL problems are taking it up as a trend and chooseing to act that way. I don't think emo destroys youth on a grand scale, but its promoting this half-*** approach at life: rather then taking action at working towards improvement, lets just indulge in self-pity and focus on what sucks.Quote:

Ill use about a sentence up in hurr
Emo, goth, whatever, is all BS, classifying people apon how they dress or act is stupid, and those who use it are ignorant.
But thats just SaucyNinja's opinion, you dont have to listen to her.
emo's are so fake. they just want attencion.
there's a funny song on emo's... i'll need to find the lyrics ^^
it's called 'must be emo' by 'hollywood undead' and it's funny and very true ^^
are emo's seriously a problem? all they did was give me and my freinds something to make jokes about (they're basicly asking for it aswell with that whole attencion seeking stuff)
=[[Wolfwood]]=
Most "emo" kids only use it as a fashion statement. They come from middle class homes, and don't know anything about 'true suffering'.
(Places glasses the size of dinner plates on my face)Sagat? Where have you been?!?!?! Ahh, my old Muay Thai god...(bows once)
Hmm...Emo...I figured this topic would start sooner or later...
Well, my usual outlook on Emo's is one of an essence that I would have to make a new account for this site, but that's including all me harassments. To be honest, I know and befriend alot of Emo's actually...But I have too many true ideas...
1.They act or say they're Emo for the publicity...
2.They listen to HIM and AFI...lol, sorry, but I hate them...But 'Love Like Winter is O.K., I suppose...
3.They have an excuse(believe it, some people aren't born under a freakin rainbow)...but, in my opinion, there are ways to solve problems. This is my main problem with Emo's...They whine about their problems, or they just accept their problems...they never try to solve their problems...
My over all opinion:
I make fun of them(JOKINGLY) most of them time, but I only hate the ones who deserve to be hated...And I am willing to help any Emo, or for that matter anybody, who ever is in a deep pile of (chocolate). As cheesy, corny, and mushy as it sounds, I really will help people.
EDIT: Upon further observation, Hatake and Sagat hit the hammer on the nail...And it's as if Hatake took the words right out of my mouth...
Over here, in Lithuania, we don't have stereotypical Emo's. It's just an obsessive fashion trend that has sucked in a pretty steady portion of today's teenagers. There's no cutting, crying or any crap like that. Just half-wits with baggy jeans, pitch black pointy hair, covering half-a-face and eyeliner. So, here it's still quite harmless.
I have no problem with anyone from that sort of culture. But I'm not friends with any, either. However, I do think emoism is a huge turn-off and measures of some sort should be taken.
I have nothing to say, other than that. Hatake Buruku covered pretty much all of it.
LOL I can't believe there's an emo points system. I mean come on. If you cry you get points? How pathetic.
Emo's are not fake. They are just sad. Don't hate on the Emo! Or they'll EAT YOUR SHORTS! =O
EMO sucks eggs.
LMAO a points system for emos. Emos dont brag to each other about being more emo, thats just ridiculase. It would be like bragging to your friends that you have a small penis.
I think this is fashion trend more than anything but its still really dangerous to cut yourself and try to take your own life..its just stupid..
I think if you just wear there stuff and feel sad emo is not that bad. bud if you cutting your self thats bad and that only for fashion i have suffered in my life to but you don't see me cut myself instead of that i trey to make things better instead of worse.
I personally laughed through the whole entire vid.
Thats good stuff.
But of course, I did'nt take none of it seriously.
People at my school and local stores call me emo.
Just because I dress in dark colors and have a habbit of flinging my hair without using my hands every now and then.
But also, the people who call me that don't see me around my friends, where I laugh and smile and say stuff, haha.
So I say get to know a person before you acuss them of a stupid, immature trend. I hate people that call eachother 'emo' or 'prep'
Ughh...
