Borderlands 2 Character wishes
I'm a little disappointed about the rate at which DLC characters have be coming out of gearbox for Borderlands 2. Now, true they never said how many they were going to do, how fast they'd be released, and that the mechromancer was already near the end of her creation cycle. But all this waiting has got me brainstorming new character ideas for this universe! So I thought I'd start a post where Borderlands fans can share their fantasy Vault Hunter!
I thought of getting a ex-hyperion employee or soldier, like the hyperion hawks or engineers! In the case of the Hawk his action skill would be his jetpack and while active would give passives. I couldn't imagine having controllable flight but rather than player control; give movement and flight patterns to the already established flying enemy AI. Its not perfect but it would be cool!

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
Gaige is my maiiiiiiin squeeeeeeeeeze so I don't particularly care.
However, if I had my own way, I'd like to see Gearbox do a little bit of fourth-walling or somesuch by allowing us to play the -original- vault hunters (I actually really like Mordecai's design in BL2 and
... so it would be nice to be able to use the original characters in the BL2 universe.
Also, if you could play as Tiny Tina that would be HIGH-LAAAARIOUS. No idea what her class ability would be, but eh ... her quotes are just brilliant.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
I like Axton already so I'm cool.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
Currently trying Sal with @blueangel06661 . Though my favorite is Cataclysm Maya with a dip in Motion for Converge and an elemental smg. Gaige is probably my second. Anarchy is so much fun. @Ranshiin They're pondering changing Tina's dialogue a bit since some people apparently find the way she speaks racist.

One question, why do you like Anarchy? That skill tree is basically suicide if you ask me.

Actually it's not if you take Close enough and blood soaked shield. Get a two shot shotgun (One after Smaller, Lighter, Faster), preferably Jakobs. You get 50% for each pellet to ricochet and hit the enemy if you miss and at 700% damage increase you pretty much one shot everything and each kill restores your shields to full. Yes you take health damage but that reduces the lower your hp gets. Get a turtle and you'll have enough to rush up and fire a shot killing them. Plus with SLF you reload shotguns relatively fast. It is high risk for high reward but most of the time things fall in either one or two shots at which point your shields are back to full letting you get to the next one and repeat. But it in no means sucks. Besides co-op with someone playing Maya who plays support and the risk goes down further. Though I've only played Gaige solo. And a trick I found is to use the target dummy in Sanctuary to build the stacks before heading into battle. I do switch to a stronger shotgun even if it has more then two ammo capacity after hitting max Anarchy. Build below of what is needed.

I damn well hope they don't.
... and I haven't heard anything she's said that I've deemed racist. Besides, it's a VIDEO GAME that's 18+. You should expect inappropriates on an age rating like that. Some people, jeez ¬_¬
edit
This hasn't got anything to do with the bit where Tina says that the queen varkid you fight is 'Welsh', has it? Because if so, that's a dumb thing to get offended over.

No, it's more the way she speaks. Some people think she sounds like an African women with the slang and what not she uses.

Really? She just came across to me as a crazy white kid. I'm guessing the 'offendees' don't really know what British teenagers are like. Not to mention that Borderlands must be in the far far future so what right does anybody have on what the slang of 'that era' is?
Also ... she's insane. >_>
Also also if people are offended by Tina's slang, they should be automagically offended by Flyboy's slang. They're not? No? I rest my case. :I

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
It was really started by one guy. The only reason it got outta control was because he said he was representing a company he was only contractor for, not an "actual" employee, so it was blown out of proportion in my opinion. Here's the tweet. He also compared Tiny Tina's dialogue to "verbal blackface."
Really stupid if you ask me.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
Woo, glad I got the season pass. It just got more value.
EDIT: Will get to see what Ruin, Converge and Sub-Sequence is like together. Too bad I'm two points short of Life Tap still with my current build.
EDIT2: Also curious also what happens if you have Ruin and Thoughtlock at the same time.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
Can't wait to try out the new character.
Seeing as how I'm always rushing in, suicide-mode with Zer0, it'll be interesting to play a character that gets rewarded for doing so.

Honestly, I use the Harmony Skill Tree to support myself and a bit of Motion ATM. I don't use Res since I usually play by myself. I plan to use the new character as well.
EDIT: Bunkers and Badasses? That would be a cool name for this DLC. I wonder what manufacture is going to cause problems or solve them. So far, the manufactures that we had to take on/help were Atlas, Jakcobs, Atlas (again), Hyperion (help), and Hyperion (defeat). Now I wonder if Maliwan, Tediore, and Dahl is ever going to be involved with the whole story?
2nd EDIT: I was hoping that they increased the level to 69 like they did in the original Borderlands.

WHAT ABOUT TORGUE HOW COULD YOU FORGET ABOUT TORGUE MR. TORGUE IS DISAPPOINTED IN YOU.
Some websites are mooting that there may be a new game mode in this new DLC; speculations based on the trailer suggests a turn-based sort of strategy thing, in line with the whole Bunkers and Badasses game Tina was setting up. I don't really care; if it's as big as they say it'll be, we're going to be onto something akin to General Knoxx' DLC, which we all know was HUEG.
Also ... SHUT THE HELL UP, MORDY! lol.

Whoops, I forget sometimes. :P
Also, I don't think getting max equipment in turn in getting killed a lot in story missions is worth it IMO. Once they release the final DLC campaign and complete it on Normal Mode, I will then go into TVHM and eventually (if I don't max out my characters by then) UVHM.
EDIT: It would seem that this DLC campaign's name is "Tiny Tina's Race to Adventure" (I think).

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
First the name better be Bunkers and Badasses. Second Harmony if fine but I like playing more the mage. Meaning control and dot damage. Works quite well. Especially with 11/5 KR and 10/5 CR along with a fire rate increase from a trickster mod. I also use a cool down relic. Though I've been trying out Inertia for a bit and it works well with a Hoplite shield. Though the question for me is do I go back and get five in wreck or go for Sub-Sequence. Guess it depends on how Sub-Sequence works. Oh, and the season pass just went completely to worth it.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
... This just made me realise that with the imminent level cap increase I can actually start to dabble in Anarchy with my Mechromancer. Is 11 levels enough to get through to Discord, or am I better off just dumping all 11 skill points into BFF and the middle skill tree (I forgot its name)?
I know a good Anarchy Mechromancer build involves Blood Soaked Shields too, but still. I don't really want to faff about with my semi-camp setup since it works good for co-op and that's pretty much all I do.
-
Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
You can get discord with 11 points. It's only third tier. And yeah, I'm running that build. BSS + CE + High Anarchy + High Pellet Shotgun = WIN!. Also, I'm not going to bother looking for the new pearlescent weapons. Legendaries are hard enough as is. Hopefully they make legendaries easier to get with that new tier.

Considering that I was told finding Legendaries was a little easier once Pearlescents were implemented (I often got Legendaries as random drops from normal bandits) on Borderlands 1, the odds will probably be adjusted a little on 2. Besides, with the whole matter of being able to dupe weapons, they're going to spread around pretty quickly (all of my weapons bar my Hyperion plasma caster are dupes; I did have a caster before, but I came across a much better one when playing Pirate's Booty and swapped.)
And I can get to Discord with 11 points? Fun. That might inspire me to actually try Anarchy out (I'm a big fan of my accuracy though, and I'm not sure if Gearbox fixed the lag bug that causes Anarchy to randomly fail). If I don't get to grips with it I'll just throw the points out through BFF and LBT; it might give me enough points to get to Sharing is Caring, which people have always bitched at me to get because 'DT with a Bee shield is AMAZING'. or something. (I rarely use the Bee shield, too weak and I actually prefer more unusual shields such as the WTF shield.)
Been talking to my friend, who's been moving home; should be able to get the remainder of Torgue's done, Hammerlock done and some of UVHM done next weekend. I think we're gonna aim for getting as high-level as we can before we start UVHM so we hit level 61 quicker and therefore start getting maxed-out loot quicker. I learned that the gear cap increase per level is 13% (15% for enemies) so ... SMGs may well be getting into the 40-50K damage region by the time you get to level 61. wut. Here I thought a Hellfire doing 6,500 damage was insane enough. (I do love my Hellfire..)
... Also UVHM is going to be insane for levelling beginner characters, if the XP gain at level 50 is anything to go by. Still got that damn Gunzerker achievement to get, lol.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
How do you have a 6.5k Hellfire? A consummate only hits around 5k gun damage and 5k dot damage. And yeah, planning on doing the same but the problem would be guns. You'd be using level 50 guns against level 61 enemies. Still have the side quests for Torgue and all of Hammerlock to do for xp. Along with most of the side quests from the main game. Though I'll probably do a bit a grinding on either the Warrior or Pete for a few levels till that bottoms out then do the final DLC followed by side quests. And where did your friend hear about the increase in legendaries?

Pretty sure it's 6K-something. Or maybe that was something else I've got, I forgot.
As for the Legendaries ... my friend hasn't heard anything in regards to Borderlands 2, but he played 1 from the start and getting Legendaries on there when I played it with him was pretty piss-easy - like I said, they sometimes dropped from normal enemies (although usually dark orange, so they weren't really the best.) In fairness I never got a pearlescent weapon (I was given a few, though).
It wouldn't surprise me to see Legendary drop rates slightly increased to compensate for the addition of new loot, but don't take my word as law ... I'm just speculating on experience with the first game.

Re: Borderlands 2 Character wishes
Nah, legendaries in BL1 where always easy to get. Though they don't have any special effects like they do in this game. Those where on pearlecent weapons only in that game. Do hope they increase the drop rates for legendaries though.

Not necessarily; pretty sure they had some superior or unique elemental tech pool attributes (such as the Hellfire -always- guaranteed to set something on fire). I know one of the legendary assault rifles fired its bullets in a cross-shape, and there was another gun that alternated between dealing shock and corrosive damage (a repeater of some variety). They weren't as -unique- as in BL2, but they had their little nuances and such.

Seems you'll be able to reset the mission progress at any time in the new mode. Makes me a happy man.
