This shall be hereafter referred to as 'pulling a Eurovision'.
Because it's obvious that the judges are biased.
Also in pulling a Eurovision, I'm expecting Britain to get 'nil pois' in terms of gold medals. :/ man, when my friend said 'we'll never get the Olympics again' he wasn't kidding. we're embarrassing ourselves.

Remember its the taking part that counts not the medals.
Plus don't forget the fact that other countries do have armies of athletes in some competitions so its gonna be harder to compete

It's a shame China won't see it that way when they walk off home with all our gold medals.
(which btw aren't actually gold ... they're like 95% silver ._.)

Re: 2012 London Olympics!
@Uchiha _Luffy I'm American and I like soccer :)
As for rooting, I root for USA obviously but I also root for Japan and China. I'm not much for rooting though haha
I like to mostly watch the Gymnastics competitions, with the exception of the pommel horse (or whatever) because that is the weirdest event I've ever seen O.o

Well as they say: "Quality over Quantity". A team with 380 competitors can still have more medals than a team of 541 people
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
W00tn3ss! We have 18 medals and have taken the lead. Just need 3 more gold to catch up to China's gold, though.
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
at the time of writing this ...
USA has 18 medals ... with 539 participants which makes it real to 0.033 medal/participant
China has 19 medals ... with 385 participants which makes it real to 0.049 medal/participant
I wonder who's better here? ....

All depends on which statistics you look at. Like this http://edition.cnn.com/SPORT/olympic...le/?hpt=isp_r1 Click Historic Medal Table -> All Time. 2296 Medals and 929 Gold overall for the U.S. :) 15 for Slovenia, not bad for a 22 year-old country.

'MURIKA!!!
on the china team, Everyone gets a small percentage of the medals (just like you pointed out 0.049)...because they're Communists.
On the US team, the guys that didn't earn a medal get nothing. The ones that earned them can keep em all for themselves.
Capitalism ftw!

Rowers Heather Stanning and Helen Glover have won Team GB's first gold medals of the Games. More to follow...
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
Ahhhhh the rowing this morning was great to see team GB snatch victory from the others :) looks like the Oxford and Cambridge rowing race comes in use
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
Now Britain has 8 medals total. Yay! America's in the lead with 25, and China's right behind with 23. Ooooo And For @FlashD , and @wizzanator , Slovenia has gotten a gold in Women's 63 kg Judo.
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
I'm so upset Joseph Diaz didn't win in bantamweight boxing :(
The guy he lost to is going to win though, so no big deal.
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
Britain's finally struck gold. I was getting a bit worried that we wouldn't get one
Re: 2012 London Olympics!
Okay so I have something to vent about. I was watching men's basketball yesterday and it was USA against Tunisia and the whole game everybody on Tunisia's team was playing like a team when everybody on USA's team played for themselves because they are all so famous. Even after the game when USA won by a long shot, Kobe Bryant goes over and signs an autograph, on screen, for a Tunisia player. REALLY USA!?!?! Can't we be a LITTLE more professional?

That's perfectly professional. Those players from Tunisia would probably kill their first born to play for a team in the NBA. They are more famous in other countries then they are here. I think it was kind of cool of Kobe to do that if someone wanted the autograph. Who cares.

Lol at my school, they have a big plasma in the Library which plays the Olympics and students will always be watching it instead of doing schoolwork. I can vouch for that because it's what I'm doing now.
