Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
Good luck with your ventures into digital art, I have been using a tablet for about a year now but only for poster/wallpaper/signaure design. I satrted digtal painting a couple of days ago so if I pick up any techniques I shall be sure to share.
Though one important thing is you will be looking at the screen a lot of the time and your hand will not be doing the drawing infront of you, as if you were drawing on paper, it wiil be on the desk below the screen, to combat any confusion between your hand and eye I practice drawing on paper but only looking at the picture I am drwaing and not my hand. Best of luck.
Thank you, gob.

I think thats the tablet my friend wants to get but he's not sure how good it is. Do you like it and recommend it?
I have two tablets and they have helped me a lot with coloring pictures etc but I'm still learning with them. My work looks like a 2 year old when it comes to drawing with them.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
wow thanks guys! hahaha oh yeah btw im using a wacom intous 2 medium hehhehehe
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I have a Bamboo Pen and Touch my second tablet and for tutorials try going to Digital Webbing or Pencil Geek there are digital colorist's there
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I have got a Bamboo, Intuos and a G-Pen,. I use the G-pen the most for only one reason, the surface of the Wacom pens tend to get slight cuts and scuffs which can affect the smooth feel you pay for, this affects how easy/straight you pen flows on the screen. The Intuos cost me 200EUR and was, for me, not usable after 2 weeks or so. The Intuos does however have superior sensitivity leves to anything on the market at the moment. 2048-1024(G-pen, Bamboo) Though the lpi is pretty much the same on all good tablets today, 4000lpi.
I found the Wacom software installation was also prone to cause some problems with my comp'. I honestly had more joy from the Bamboo over the Intuos, the Bamboo served me well for about 6 months before it kicked it. Good luck, the Intuos is a good pen but imo has major problems that are below Wacom.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
Recently, i got a Wacom bamboo pen and touch. It has been a fun little tablet for doodling and such.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I also have a Bamboo touch pad. To be honest though, the older models used to have bigger touch area but I guess we can't go wrong with more pressure points on the newer ones. They're easily the best tools for any graphic artist.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I use a Motion Computing Tablet 8x6 screen. It's was the ipad before the ipad was made, lol. The touch screen is really responsive with the stylus, and since it's more of a computer than a "tablet" you can upgrade the HDD, and Ram mem, and install individual programs like Sketchbook Pro, and Photoshop on it.
I got mine off of ebay. And these type of tablets were used on Stargate: Atlantis. lol
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I'm using a Genius g-pen M712X 12'' x 7'' Dual-mode Multi media Tablet. It doesn't have a screen likethe wacom. but it's pretty handy, it has buttons aswell.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I use the Wacom Intuos 2 Platinum edition. It's pretty old and it definitely has a lot of wear and tear but it's still kicking!
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I have a Wacom Bamboo Create. It's damn good but lately I've been lacking on doing anything with it. I know I only got it on Christmas but it's been making feel incompetent in my drawings. Currently, I'm working on a pic where Chibi Miku is fighting the pokemon Farfetch'd over it's leek. Also for art class, a two-point perspective city project. I got creative and made the steampunk city in the sky. c:
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I'm using Genius Tablet Mouse Pen =D
It's pretty inconvenient to have one since using a pen while doing line-arts is pretty accurate so it's been tons of help ever since I owned it.
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I...I envy all of you above who have a tablet. :<
I've been wondering what tablets are good as well. Looking to buy one when I have the extra money. I think it will make things a lot easier. Are they difficult to learn to use, I wonder? Cause I've gotten quite accustomed to using the mousepad on my laptop. It's - almost - sorta - not really - like a tablet, I suppose. ^_^
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I own one atm, hardly use it, It's quite easy to work out.

I want your tablet. :c
I'm using a Wacom Bamboo A4 sized. Works good for what I need to do with it!
Re: anyone using a drawing tablet out there?..
I use a Bamboo, and love it. I live by the ideology that a super awesome expensive tool doesnt make you better at what you do, though it helps, but practice, is what does it. i love mine for what i do. My school uses them, there hafto be around 200 of them in the labs.
