Happiness
*Happy: Describes a general feeling of well being. If you are happy, you may feel good about something you have done or seen or something that happened to you.*
I thought I knew what happiness was,
but perhaps I've been mistaken.
It seems so easy, so simple, so free,
why is it so hard to find?
It disappears so quickly,
gone in the blink of an eye.
Yet we continue to search,
for that one spark we can't see.
Like searching in the darkness,
for a button in a haystack.
But the haystack is filled
with needles that poke until we bleed.
We don't give up on that one chance,
no matter how small it may be.
If we can find that button,
we'll find a bit of happiness.
I think I've found that button,
but it's just out of my grasp.
So close yet so far away,
the rain begins to fall.
The water and tears block the sight of that button,
forever lost in the haystack of needles.
Why should I keep looking?
Why can't I just give up?
'Cuz giving up is stupid,
what's the real point in that?
You can find the button,
when the storm passes over.
Don't say goodbye,
it's my least favorite word.
Don't say you're going to go now,
I want you here with me.
Even if I find another,
I'll still remember you.
Happiness is for everyone,
so reach out a little further
and hold on tight when you get it.
It goes by so quick it's scary,
but it's not hard to see.
When you have someone next to you,
happiness is as clear as the blue sky above.
Look, it has stopped raining,
the sun shines brightly in the sky.
A cloudless day filled with happiness,
so please don't leave me be.
I can't keep on smiling,
I can't be free.
I can't say goodbye,
when I'm so deeply in love with thee.

Each person symbolic to a button and the darkness like the needled hay. I enjoyed the pictures you have placed into words, the flow through like a river. Keep writing my little greatest great Niece.

@Blackwick: Thank you very very much great auntie. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. Actually, I originally saw it differently, but the way you see it makes just as much sense. ^_^
@xAl-san: Thank you.

I have to be honest here. If I read the poems you wrote before and the poems you write now back to back, I would think they were from a different person. Its not a bad thing though, I'm just trying to say that you've evolved in your poetry so well that your change is hard to see now; its as if you've been writing this good since the beginning.
I love this poem a lot. The only thing I noticed was that you should've said "can" not "an" in the third line of the 4th stanza. Also the line that begins with Look, there should be a coma after look because you need a pause there.
All in all nice job.

@Fledge: Thanks sis, I'm glad you liked it. ^_^
@Sigma: Wow, thanks. ^_^ Going back and reading some of the older ones I've written, it does kind of seem that way.
Oh, and corrections made! Thanks for noticing.
