pm Deathblade/13.666, he's on a lot and should be able to help you. oh and on the subject of gory anime, add Gantz to your list if you've never seen it. it was too far out for me but there is definitely plenty of gore.

also on the subject of gory anime, i was disappointed in Berserk because the first episode was like the epitome of awesomeness, Guts is all like butchering people in a bar and cutting up Griffith then pumping crossbow bolts into into his disabled body, but then everything after that is like romancey between them and it takes forever to lead up to their eventual battle. i'll admit i've never finished it.

another solid option would be the Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners) films. it's a series of i think seven 50min movies following the life of Shiki, a young girl who can visualize the deaths of living things. it's hard to explain, but there is plenty of gore to be had, and the production value is just out of this world. one of the best looking shows i've ever seen, ranks right up there with Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust in terms of visual appeal.

and yeah, re read the Hellsing manga, it's worth it. and check out Hellsing Ultimate if you haven't already.
