Sure. Trend is when a certain word or phrase is said in thousands of tweets. So let's say the words Linkin Park was being tweeted a lot. If it has enough tweets it starts to trend, but to actually start a trend is very hard and your need a LOT of people. And theres 10 words or phrases that trend at a time. It can be anything.

So that's trending in a nutshell
