Going to a con? Working on a costume? Showing off a new toy you got? This is the place!
NO SELLING ALLOWED!!!
The lovely blueangel06661 suggested it would be a good idea to have a thread about cosplay tips and resources and such so here goes! Please feel free to add your own or ask questions. I'm certainly not an expert on cosplay, but after a few years, here's some things I've learnt.
Let's start with...
1. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse for breaking them.
2a. If you are going to start a con thread, please have a link to the cons main page as the first thing in your post.
b. If you are going to make a post about a specific convention, and there is a thread about that...
Does anyone here live in Florida and is attending Megacon in May? Or any Florida conventions for that matter?
here's the oldest set of photos i have of my earliest OTAKU/Weeb days, several years before i even had my own actual Internet, in fact,
practically Stone-Age compared to how i have things today.
without the now-indispensable freedom of worldwide online shopping,
i was once forced to satisfy...
Anyone wanna go to a anime convention? I Need a ride! And you're welcome to come and stay, read the rest of the post for details and message me if interested.
Alright so I'm planning a trip to Acen, which is a Anime Convention in Illinois, only problem is I need a ride, and if you're wondering,...

Hi I'm Koen and just new on this site :),
I have a meeting coming up with my firned and we decided to do cosplay, but I've never done that before. So I got no costume as well, and that's a problem.
So I'd like to ask you what kind of cosplay can you recommend for me?
I'm a male.
I was curious as to what character would suit me best to cosplay. I'm 5 foot 2 inches, and weigh about 96-98 pounds. I'm pretty flat, so boys are okay as well. Someone with a really cool design but not too over the top with a good personality. I've got no clue, I'd really appreciate any...
I really want to get into some dress up coplaying, and just take photos, i really like Ouran High School Host Club, and i have black hair and i am fairly tall, i was thinking i could cosplay Takashi Morinozuka (Mori-Sempai) or Kyoya since i have black hair.
I would dye and change my hair colour...
Anyone heard of this service? I'm subscribed to Crunchyroll and they sent out a $10 off coupon for this service and it looked pretty interesting.
Apparently you can subscribe to have a box of Japanese candy (and a drink if you pay more) mailed to your house monthly. They have different box sizes...
After some advice. I've decided that I NEED to buy these figurines. Yes, all 9 of them. I'll start with Kotori and I've been trying to find the best price. I found this on eBay and it seems legit, but I'm a bit paranoid about ending up with a bootleg as I've heard some horror stories...
Umai Crate is a monthly subscription service run by Japan Crate which I've also posted about here. Japan Crate is a monthly subscription of Japanese Candy.
UMAI CRATE is $25/mo.
Honetly I prefer Umai Crate over Japan Crate as Ramen lasts a good while and it can actually be a full meal rather...
1/6 scale, 11in./27cm. character doll, custom hybrid of OBITSU corp. doll body mated with late-1990's TAKARA/HOBBY BASE Belldandy doll head;

Following the success of the first Anime Hip Hop Show, I am proud to announce the Sons of Anime will return to Youmacon (Detroit, Michigan) for another year of fun and excitement with this one of a kind performance. With familiar faces, and all new special guests, this year's musical...
a sweet couple, made up of one of my first dolls ever, "Tenchi Masaki"
of AIC's 1992 OVA "TENCHI MUYO!" fame, 2001 12" doll by TOYNAMI,
and the cherished Queen Bee of my Doll Harem, "Mikuru Asahina"
of KYOTO ANIMATION's 2006 T.V. series "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"
Guys, how do you clean the surface of your figurines, other than dust issues? My case, I've tried using an ointment oil to clean the faceplate of my Yotsuba Kotobukiya action figure and it worked like a charm. But, I screwed the paint job (visible but still can be ignored if you're not aware of it)...
Enjoy Guys. I have way more too so expect updates on this thread very often.
Hey! As you know, yearly, there's an event in Japan called World Cosplay Summit (WCS) and held yearly in order to find the best cosplay duo of each country participating around the globe. she is the companion to my Mikuru in the short-lived Megahouse Haruhi Suzumiya 1/6 doll series. these were the only two releases, for whatever reason,
Who's going to AniMore convention?
I am, and am also really looking forward to it because, believe it or not, it'll be my first anime convention I've been to

this 1999 piece was my very first authentic Japanese-market Character Doll,
obtained back in 2008 from a fellow member of a doll forum.
after years of making custom fashions for her, i thought i'd return to her original costume
for a little while and attempt to bring it as close as i can to...
So for those of you that collect Figurines, where do you like to buy them?
Is anyone else collecting the new S.H.Figuarts Sailor Moon range from Bandai? I usually buy from Plamoya because I feel I can trust them, but sometimes things seem over-priced...
For example Sailor Neptune is currently...
In 2015, history was made in Detroit with the very first Anime Hip Hop show at Youmacon! This show was made possible thanks to Motor City Street Dance Academy, the staff of Youmacon, the emcees performing, the con goes, and yours truly, DJ RX-78.

Me and a few other anime fans are making a Death Note movie trailer for school. Looking for advice on making a Ryuk costume, would prefer that it cost as little as possible. Please help
So I had previously started a thread about Japan Crate which ships Japanese sweets and their kawaii line called DokiDoki which shipped Kawaii items for $30. Honestly $30 was a little out of my ideal range so I never signed up for the DokiDoki crate and I got burned out...
