For posting incomplete lyrics and help on translating.
Yes, I'm spamming -- I'm sorry. I'm avoiding real work, so this is what I do. Hope you guys aren't too sick of me yet.
hitori musume wa sesse to tane o maku
kawaranu kako ni otozurenu mirai ni
An only daughter diligently sows seeds
In the unchanging...
Haven't submitted the last one yet (I admit I'm kind of waiting for Datenshi to show up, since he usually points out huge errors that I haven't noticed and then if the song's on the site already I have to PM Azu and make him fix it), but here's the next Sound Horizon song, anyway....
Yes, I've finally gotten around to more Sound Horizon. This one was surprisingly easy, probably because of the narrative format, so since I don't need time to recover, I may do another one soon. Possibly.
I never paid much attention to this track, since it's really a monologue over music rather...
I know I've also asked for help in translatin a part of another song that plays in Naruto, but I'm actually not a Naruto addicted person or anything (actually I haven't even been watchin it), I just wanted to see the new OP/ED themes and, of course, with them, came a few questions.
Here's something that has been driving me crazy for a while. There's a part in the song "CLOSER", fourth opening theme of Naruto: Shippuuden, that MAY have been mistranslated all along. I study Japanese, but of course I have many doubts too, so, this is just a theory:
When the singer says:
And while I'm Vocaloid-ing (though I really should get back to Sound Horizon and stop being so distractable), here's the other song I've found that I like. It is one strange little song, and a lot harder to follow than the last one, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.
unknown : そこの、旅のお嬢さん...
I wasn't going to do any Vocaloid songs, since I'm sure there are people around here who are much more into Vocaloids than I am. I only really like a couple of their songs (and even then I generally prefer when real people sing them). But the section's looking pretty sad and neglected, so I thought...
Huh? Who said admins don't ever post in LD?
This is probably an indirect request from fellow I've freaks... I know, it's a quicktrans, so it's probably not quite up to scratch yet. I'm just showing my poetic liberty at places where I shouldn't really do it...
KOTOKO - Restoration ~Chinmoku...
I'm not sure this is right.
The lyrics make sense for the character, but... Eh.
I marked the things I am most concerned about, but I'm sure there are lots of other problems. Uh, thanks!
Kami kara no otsuge na no ka sono okonai no imi
I really like this song, but it was hell to translate. Uh, no pun intended (though I guess it's about Hades, not Hell, so... anyway, I'm getting off track, here). So basically, this was quite difficult, and I'd appreciate any suggestions!
"ikaga ni shite rakuen no tobira...
And it's been... how long since I translated Ark? At this rate it'll take me years to do the whole album. At least this one wasn't as painful as Ark -- although I'm sure I still made all kinds of mistakes.
しかし 『彼女』という存在は 私にとって特別な意味を孕むだろう……...
I'm listening to Aya Hirano's "Lost my Music". And I've been trying to translate it into English lyrically (translate it so that the words still fit the song.) The part I'm having trouble with is asterisked. I'd also appreciate any other reccomendations.
Here's a link to the song so you know...
Well, since this is my first translation that will ever be posted on the site, I figured that I should probably ask you guys if this translation seems right or if I missed something important or if there is a way to make it flow better before I put it up. So, here goes nothing...I particularly hope...
I know this must be really basic, but-
I'm confused about how to translate this pattern:
aimai na watashi no omoi ga...
suteki na kimi no reality....
Hi. I'm brand spanking new here and thought I might submit this song, but I'm not very confident in my skills (just learning), so I thought I'd ask for input first. I've seen two translations on different sites and they're pretty significantly different than mine, which makes me a little anxious...
I would really apreciate if someone could help me with this issues:
I understand "yukisaki" (destination) but I suppose the other thing is kind of a compound verb or something like that. I know what does kaburu mean but I don't understand what happens when "moro" is before.
Time for me to spam the LD board more!
I'm on break from college and bored. Have another translation.
dakedo kokoro nante o-tenki de kawaru no sa
nagai matsuge ga HIWAI ne anata
tsumi na metsuki o shite sa inochi agemasu nante
first, I don't know english very good, because I'm spanish.
I have a blog of translations of anime, jpop, games, and more
if there is someone who knows Spanish and English, can be translated into English.
This song heavily references Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince, so some of my translation choices here are based on... well, the English translation of it. Mainly, I translated "呑み助" as "tippler" because that's how the version I've read refers to the character, and "What is essential is...
I think I have the gist of it, but I'd appreciate it if someone could check this over, because it was rather difficult for me. Especially the "プラマイ・ゼロ" stanza, I'm not sure I got the correct meaning there at all.
The version on the site right now is... well, just plain wrong to put it bluntly....
Translating song lyrics is clearly a more productive way of spending my time than sleeping. Anyway, this is a pretty simple one and didn't give me much trouble, but I thought I'd post it here anyway just in case there are mistakes I haven't caught. It is rather late at night, after all.
この桜の下で 誰かの影 求め
kono sakura no shita de dareka no kage motome
osanai hi no kioku me o tojite kasaneta
Under these cherry blossoms, I searched for someone's shadow
Closing my eyes, I piled up memories of my childhood days
Being a Pokemon song, this one's pretty easy. I'm just stuck on one little section:
たったひとつの ふるさと 旅立った
Though I blew out my birthday candles
How to phrase the second line?
So, Sound Horizon owns my soul and apparently I like pain. I thought the Gunslinger Girl songs and Schwarzweiß were bad, but this is much, much worse. Help?
As with my Gunslinger Girl translits, the words in square brackets are what is sung where it differs from what is written. I felt it...
We have another lyrics translation contest going with HearJapan!

This song seems simple enough, but its causing me a world of grief...
(Also, I typed up the kanji myself from a site that has the lyrics contained in flash files, so if it looks like I screwed up somewhere please let me know)
good night Days, good old Days

After making my id and getting the test, I've tried to upload my first translation, but it seems that my submission was not queued and I'm not sure if it is normal or not. Plus the lyrics of this song is not so easy and neither English nor Japanese is my native language, so I think it's not a bad...
Yes, I know that it can be a nightmare translating Ali Project songs, but sometimes I am willing to give it a try...
