So I've finally decided to give a present for myself (yay me) and get a sparkling new camera. This thread will be a dump of (very random) pics and notes as I learn the inns and outs of the camera.
Anyway, my initial impressions of 400D and kit/50mm 1.8 lens are:
1) kit lens is wiiiiiiide...
So here is my collection of leaf pictures, actually not as wonderful as I had hoped because I had the ten minute walk between classes to take them-and class to get to. I shall take more, but I wanted something to submit to the contest. Which do you guys like best, and why? Are there any that don't...
Just something I was messing with, this is a basic HDR, made by combining an over-exposed, under-exposed and normal-exposed images together.
Not sure if I like the B&W or the color version more, so here are the both of them.
I'll be trying some daytime HDR tomorrow, and am likely to post...
Alright, so it's not a tiger, but it is a cat in the wild.:p
I was at the beach and on the path to the tennis court are these vines and bushes and then I saw a cat. She was skittish the first time, but I saw her later and shel et me get close enough to take this awesome pic. Isn't she...
Yeah pretty ramdomly dumped into one thread...
Ok lets begin with the fish. I find the quality of the pictures kinda crappy and they were pure snapshots. just resized them and here they are.
The fish in the third picture kept following me around as I walked around the basin, was so funny, so...
When i take pictures for each contest them..i take a a few, and its hard for me to choose whats what.. here are some of the ones that i took that crossed my mind for entry..but backed out of...so far..
This was me experimenting with the macro, zoom and angles. (I'm thinking I should just stick to sports photography).
And perhaps I should invest in a tripod, that moon one took ages -_-
Just trying some things out mainly.
A ferris wheel from a little italy fair held recently in NYC. A of the moment sort of thing, I just saw it and wanted to try this angle. Pretty happy with that result.
A statue they placed in a park across from the WTC. It's a strange looking thing really....
Kay. This is just a few little things I've done while tinkering around in Photoshop CS2. Yes, all Pictures are of me. ^_^; I'm trying to get better at Photoshop and am open to any sort of criticism or things I can do on Photoshop to get better results. ^_^
These two I did a little...
These are some of the first pics I took with my Digital SLR (way back in the day), saw them while we were outside washing the car. I know they're not very good but meh, I thought I'd contribute to the new section anyway.
Yay. So this was all about apertures for my Photography class. I know the scene is a bit silly, but I liked it. The settings I used are listed in order.
1st: aperture 8, shutter speed 1/8s.
2nd: aperture 5.6, shutter speed 1/30s.
3rd: aperture 4, shutter speed 1/60s.
4th: aperture 2.8,...
Well, Here I am again and seeing as I already have a thread showing my Signatures, I thought I'd also share some of my photos I've taken with my Samsung NV3 digital camera now that I have it. Hope you like them and enjoy ^-^
The first photo was taken over here in the UK, from...
This post has no pictures in it, but I was looking into some books to look at if you want to get better with photography. My text book is great, but it's very.. dry. I don't know if there is any others out there that could be a better read? Be nice to know if any of you have an opinion.
Well first things first, while I try to figure out the proper way of doing things in this forum, in this thread, post what your camera is, make and model ^_^ I'd like to get a feel for what equipment people have, and it'll be a must for contests to have that info here, so I can see if the photos...

Figure that I am stuck in Florida anyway, so I may as well get some use out of my macro lens (Canon Macro 100mm f 2.8)
Mainly went after some insects as there aren't many photogenic ones around in NYC at this time of year.

Last month, my hubby and I took a road trip through Nagoya and Gunma prefectures. Most of the shots were taken at Matsumota and Takayama. As I'm sure you can tell, many of the shots show a lot of rain. Gotta love typhoons. >.<;; But it cleared up when we got to Takayama. What a difference!!
I'm an amateur at best, but have always found photography to be a good bit of fun. Nearly every art teacher I've ever had has said I have an eye for composition. On occasion I think that's true, and hope that "eye" found or will find its way into my photography.
The following pictures were...
Sup. Here be my photos.

I bought a new camera yesterday so I can take pictures of things going on around campus (I moved into school this morning), so I spent a bit of time today walking around the area near my dorm and taking pictures of things; mostly Fox Hall, which is across the street, the Merrimack River, which is a...
These are some pictures I made on my last vacation, which I think are worth showing
These were made last year on a vacation with some friends
and some more random pictures I took
These were made with my trusty phone.. they're crappy quality but I still like them x3
Since the forum is still pretty much empty, I'll post some of my pics that don't completely suck:
Playing with macro and flowers with my father's Kodak. Never though that P&S cameras could do macro pretty good.
Dublin, 6 or so photos, Kodak P&S. Wish I had made a few more shots and...
Everyone needs a dose of cute and fluffy every once in a while the first picture i took of my puppy Minako :p
Abusing my celphone's camera i kinda liked how it made light colors almost wash out and the blacks looked fine so i thought it was an interesting picture to take on accident ;3
Quick Explaination: I write, take photographs, and do the layout for a college newspaper. Lots of the pictures are from events, or just odd things.
(Me my HS Sr. year)
Hi All, Looks like this is my first post! So enjoy...if this is the wrong area to post my photography, then mods can you please move ^_^
Hello, all. >_>; God, I have a signature thread, an art thread, and now a photography thread! Lemme know if you think I'm getting way too over my head. xD
Okay, this picture is my pride and joy. Everytime I see it, I'm like "How the hell did I manage it!?" But anyway, the subjects are my cousin...
Though I'm not a photographer, and don't have proper equiptment, I enjoy taking pictures for fun and experimenting. I haven't had my camera very long, and haven't taken very many, but I'll post what I have.
I like this one because its very "busy." Theres a lot of different colors and shapes to...
