That morning, I rose quietly,
as I always do,
But I woke to stillness,
There was no usual Sunday morning bustle.
I made my way to the living room
that morning, as I always do,
"Where could they be?" I wondered,
"Grandpa, Grandma, Papa, Mama?"
I found only my sister there.
Only the darkness will know
The truth behind the
Silence of a broken heart.
That is all. =D
Black snow falling
Cold, dead chill
Five seconds before,
a warp to the past
Heart beating strong
Moments till its last
im sorry i wasn't happy enough for you
im sorry that i let you slip from my fingers
your doubt in our union never halted me
but your trust in another did
she could cheer you up when i could not
she could touch you when i could not
she could love you physically and mentally when i could...
the pitter-patter of rain,
will always please,
ones ears in the evening.
look at the fields,
waving in the wind.
It's been a while
since I last saw your smiling face before me,
A few years sounds about right.
How long ago was it
since we last walked through the halls together?
It's been a while
since I've heard you tell a joke beside me,
Tears will not fall tonight,
Beneath the ethereal moon,
I shall dance in the snow.
Forget the sorrow of unrequited love!
I do not regret a thing,
Love, I believe, is like fire,
It warms to the core yet it burns,
inflicting its agonizing harm.
Another heedless night,
Soundless from the lips of scorn
I ponder pangs and aches
Soul-strings tempted to be torn
In the shadow of my doubt;
Where my own echoes tend to lie
Forever inked in the now
In the Dead of Night I lay awake.
Scared awake by my own fright.
I reach for your comfort, but all I find
Are handfuls of fabric.
I clutch them tight, and think of you.
It's like a dream, but I don't care.
I whisper your name, but to no avail.
So I cry it out, but your not there.
In the black, I sat and wait.
I was sure i would never leave,
Never to feel, never to see.
But then she came in a dress of white,
Her smile illuminating my endless night.
She took my hand, and pulled me up.
She pulled me out of my own grave.
She kept my hand, within her own.
There once was a man who wanted fame
So he vied for the riches in a Faustian game
Put up for grabs was his talent for prose
His time allotted was the life of a crystal rose
Ahead of him his tasks were clear
To write nothing more for an entire year
And for a day after he would blame
Another poem done by request. Not my best work but I'm very happy that the one this is for like it ^_^
So I sat on the old swing set
and looked up at the sky,
feeling empty inside because the sky
wasn't the same sky
without your love, though so many would chastise
and say it had...
Languishing leaves tumbling from summer trees
A lament which is granted by the autumn breeze
As if the idea of perfection isn't truly subjective,
I waste my time and wonder in ways so obsessive
As if I cannot feel right with the world
A wave of ravens disguised as shrikes,
As surely sharp...
Hope you guys like it :3
If I Were
If I were the ocean, I would call out all the mammals living in me
If I were the skies, I would call out all the birds that fly through me
If I were the land, I would call all the plants and trees that live on me
SOMETHING BETTER THAN YOU
Watching the drama blindfolded.
I never knew you would leave me like that.
Uncaring, unloving, unreasonable.
Confronted with the fact that I need to forget.
Hold on to the memories I left.
How you smiled at me stroke my hair.
The bitter, the better.
I hope it...
The missing treasure of this sinking vessel
On the seafloor, where it would nestle
Against the base for years it'd lay
Patiently waiting for that special day
When I would come to claim my prize
Hoping the chest to my surprise
Would hold the heart that I've been missing...
Candy-man I am, Candy-man.
Taking you home with placid sweets
Trembling in your cream, curled hand.
Candy-man with overplayed promises
And grimed lies behind white teeth, I am.
Big blues eyes focus on me
With a solemn moment of doubt in me.
Now the silence is deafening
As if the drop of a pin
Could set the world on fire,
Though it seems it’s already drowning
In everyone’s own pyre.
In this desperate case of your God and mine
Yours is the better liar.
Have we emphasized enough
Long story short, I've been starting to make this thread on some forums.
The idea was to provide me a topic and once I saw it I was to write a poem on it on the spot. Now it's not all about me, so I would instead suggest we do a chain type poetry game. Any format, challenge yourself with a...
Eternal darkness without a limit,
No soul can withstand the pain in it
Struggling to find the will to fight,
It's hard without a single ray of light
Running aimlessly in the cold, soft sand
Somewhere nearby a river crosses the land
I am lost,my life is done,
It seems that I must be the...
Le roi (The King)
Thus far have I seen sullen beauty
Presented in a creature of high stature.
Such eyes devour the light in me
To resolve to their darkened glow.
I can only cry for an explanation
Of the man dressed in stone.
Life is imprudent to the dry soul
Of the beggar--
Snaking endlessly in the wind,
A thousand notes glide
and sweep 'cross the plains
Music, like a lover's caress,
streams forth from the shadow,
We dare not venture
into the shade of the clouds of ash,
Tales of past
hold us back from taking risk.
Wonder what your doing
Wonder if its right
A flame across the heavens sky
Bright and pearly white
Wonder what the birds up high-
are telling you tonight
I wonder how you look at me
I wonder if they tell you too
the fusion of Illusion
and False Conclusion
as being bitter black lies
gouging out your eyes.
Adopting them as
realities, not seeing
their hidden calamities.
Abusing, throwing away
This is just a random poem that i made while i was in sixth grade.. it's not very good though... It's called the mask
Though i seem happy
My true emotions never show
The happiness and the Darkness
This one I wrote as part of a poetry class I took in college going on 6.5 years ago... >_< My teacher liked it enough to select it for submission into the school's poetry anthology for that year. :) I have edited it since, however. Please enjoy!
another one, just in case >_>
I don't think I quite finished it but it's hit a block so this is where it stands
Are you lonely like me?
When there's no-one around you to talk with,
do you talk to the trees?
Do you see a face grinning on every car?
Do you know the story behind every star?...
There are so many moments where I suffocate,
So many days of lies and submission fate,
A great many swallows of these hallow words-
All I want to do is cry-Loving you, that's absurd.
Every time they escape those putrid lips,
It's like a bear mauling with his accusatory tips,
Something that came to mind rather quickly ^^ not as good as the one I posted earlier, but I'm on a poetry spree for some reason o.o
Just what does it mean to be an adult?
Work hard and don't cry?
The world is tough, everyone has it rough
So with that, I let out a sigh
This is a poem that I wrote tonight that sums up a dream I had last night >.<
The sky is turning, swirling grey
There's going to be a storm today
Devastating winds, blowing things down
Hopefully the rain, doesn't make us drown
