summer day dreams
under the bright blue sky
memories of days spent lake side,
margaritas in the water, laughing and splashin'
everything's descending like the days into night
reminiscing about that summer past
This is a trial for a potential poetry contest in the (possibly, near) future.
The challenge is to write a poem on any subject and in any style of your choosing however, it must contain at least one of the following for a cinquain or haiku and ALL of the following for other styles.
simile - a...
Pretty straight forward question. What influences you to write the poetry that you do. Who or what acts as your muse?
Nothing is Free
Lose it all
No one cares
Open your eyes
No one's there
Echoes of the Autumn cycle
Fall into a fraying wallet
Remnants of a slow life
Perched on the end of a branch
The green grass becomes brown
Used and old, stained outside
Drenched from the falling water
Trampled by the feet of the living
I've come to believe
I've come to see
Between broken seams.
These eyes have
Want to be blind.
You don't call me by phone anymore
It's a sign that we're done
You used to do it before and I was
the one who asked you not to
From the day I left you
You swore that you'll come back for me
I didn't want you to and you never came back
And today I come to tell you
If you're there, please...
You are not alone
Even when it hurts..
You are not alone
Even when you think it's over.
You are not alone
Even when at first..
You are not alone
Every time I look I feel like fighting
Against something that can never change
Against something that will bring me pain and suffering
And might leave a deepened wound without a cure.
But after hearing your words I no longer fear anything
The pain that I will feel will make me...
This poem is written in a deers point of view after getting hit by a car. What inspired me is what happened to me the other night. I was going the speed limit and for some reason I decided to slow down then out of nowhere two deer darted out in front of my car. If I was going any faster, I would...
I know no one really reads/comments on the,, I just gotta get this off my heart.
"I couldn't live without my mom."
Some would say.
But you just wait until that day.
Together, up high,
they rolled and they roared.
Until, they suddenly began to fall.
Now separated and alone,
she stumbles slowly.
Surrounded by darkness.
Lost. Unsure. A path, uncertain.
From deep in the shadows,
Jump for joy the day is here,
The day we've waited on for years,
While our luck is down and our minds are weary,
This day will make the world less dreary,
The pain is soothed and your lives replenished,
Your bad luck it seems is finally finished,
So grab your horse and saddle up,...
This poem was made during a poetry battle with my friend on facebook. We took turns pasting poetry on each other's wall. haha. Hope you guys like it ^^
Your smile like the sun,
So warm and bright
Your voice like thunder,
Ringing in my ears
Your face like a rose,
Morning dew rests on the creases under my eyes
The remains of the night sky absorb into my soul
The sun engulfs the stars
Another day, another pain
That I spend in yesterday, tomorrow
This sun can't evaporate the rain
So I was walkin’ through the city streets
and a man walks up to me and hands me the latest energy drink
Run faster. Jump Higher.
Man, I’m not gonna let you poison me.
I threw it on the ground!
You must think I’m a joke!
I ain’t gonna be part of this system!
Man, pump that garbage...
I'll just say this is extremely different from my other poetry, lol. It has more of a humorous/rap aspect to it.
You wake up
Already had enough
of this daily routine
soul eating machine
It's killing you
With a boredom you can't shake off
And so it ends
The chapter will fade
The impacts gone
Time to move on
The start and end, is made..
I'm leaving now
Please don't worry
Don't work up
that I always
try to hide.
But the beams
of light, they
after changing buses... i am now on my way to the ferry landing...
Who said that it's fun?...
it is so tiring..
it feels like you have too much sun...
four hours the ride has lasted
as much as i want to share
i am too exhausted
Tis a normal part in travelling
Gives you time for stretching
With my luggage in tow
I gave it a go
I sat at the terminal bench
Chatting with bus men
They gave me a reason to smile
Enjoy myself for a while
They gave me the info I need
the ride was pleasant... the wait was not... made me think twice of going or not going to take vacation invitation...
I step on the bus…
It’s full of people…
I had no choice
And stand on the aisle..
The bus went on..
I glanced outside the window…
The trees and fields are green
iam sorry for the inconvenience i caused...
it won't happen again..
it was October 24 and i am starting the vacation i have always dreamt of doing alone...
I woke up late
What a shame
The alarm went off at five
A signal for me to arise
But I didnít
i promised to post my poems here.. so here goes...

it's from my vacation portfolio actually...

i'd appreciate a very dissective comment....
1. Start of a Journey ~...
I know, I know.
Much too soon to post another poem... but this one comes from the heart. Lately I've been thinking aout my life a lot, my disease, my parents death... It's been keeping me busy lately. I have a pretty rough life, even if I say so myself. This is the result of me throwing my...
I made this in school... Thinking about someone...
The only one I want is you.
I've always looked around for your name.
On the sports list, for instance.
Are you on my team? Soccer? Turning? Swimming?
I hope so.
The clouds roll in a despair
it gets dark
I hear thunder say why
as it shakes the ground
The lightining strikes with fear
as it shines its light for guide and to strike
Now I must find my home
but I have another hand to guide me from the storm
and help me seek shelter
My roses bloom with emotion
but they sing a song of sorrow
for they sing of dark skies with little light
to free themselves from despair
The sun peeks through the dark clouds
to bring them freedom
and now they sing a song of happiness
because they are free to sway in the wind
The Face Of Beauty
By: Kanna Kuchiki
His breath was as cool as night
Close to my ear which I could feel
I could see him with the moonlight
The sight of his face was unconditional
But there was something there
In that part he had potental
