  1. Dont worry, we're gonna continue our comic elsewhere since it got closed. Like right here: puhi
  2. Sigma invites you to join this: puhi. You can choose whether or not to join but you're epic and awesome and it'll be cool if you did.
  3. I get what you mean. And yeah whenever I hear Johnny its ALWAYS the same. Unlike Vic Mignona or whatever his name is.

    Well a goal is to probably become a vet, but I'd really just want to have a family. I'll be happy just as long as I have a steady job and a family as well
  4. It's not that I dislike listening to him. I think he has a wonderful voice; but I also think he has his limits when it comes to pushing his boundaries as a VA. If you were to take someone like Jun Fukuyama. I've heard him in Special A, Star Driver, MM!, Code Geass and so many others; but it never really feels like I'm listening to the same person. I believe it's because he plays his character so well; one never gets the same impression. That's the kind of level I want to reach.

    Curiously though, what is it that you want to do with your life? I recall reading that you'd like to get married one day, but do you have any particular goals or dreams you want to fulfill?
  5. Oh so that's how you get to learn about how to be the voice of the character. But still it sounds like a hard thing to do.

    Yeah I just didn't like that I had to hear him in bleach and then that was over and then had to hear him in code geass.
  6. An actor/actress has to ask a lot of questions in order to truly understand their character: what's their past, what are they doing and why, do they have any unusual traits or characteristics, any particular emotions or characterizations they tend to display more than others, etc. The more one understands his/her character, the better the performance. Of course if one doesn't have an affinity for the character, it won't work no matter how well you understand them.

    Actors like Johnny Boch are very talented, but I feel his voice has been overused in some areas. For example I didn't think he was the best choice for Lelouch in Code Geass. He just didn't seem to have the element of ruthlessness I felt Jun Fukuyama was able to portray.
  7. Ok ok I get it. Makes sense but how do you think he does it so that he IS the character. Cause you voice actors just get a script and nothing else. So how can you tell how a character is supposed to be based on just that?

    Yeah kind of like some of the best voice actors I have ever heard.

    What do you think about Johnny Young Boch. lol.
  8. Lol. Yeah, something like that. Though my favorite way of putting it comes from Crispin Freeman. You see, when he finds himself behind the mic, he believes the best way to give the very best performance that he can is to cease to be himself and become the character that he is portraying. He never says he's playing anything, but rather is the character for that time he's behind the microphone. It's near impossible to describe with words, but it's a very high level of acting that's simply breathtaking to watch and hear.

    I want to be able to reach that level myself one day. To be able to identify and know one's character so strongly that you can connect with it on a level to impact those around you in a profound and moving way.
  9. Hopefully you fell into the category of quick to adapt. If not I hope the classes at least helped immensely. You know what they say, hard work pays off immensely. Or something along those liens. OO;;

    Ok ok. So like, you get the script and you sort of "feel" how the character will be and you make your voice sound accordingly. Something like that?

    Wow that's really good exercise. Maybe Siggy should try to do the same thing as well cause my voice is horrible. Siggy don't like. People say it okay but...I think its yucky yuck. Bleagh.
  10. I know it may sound strange, but it's all part of what I believe of what it means to take one's career seriously and to show one's dedication.
