Koji Oe (tonberryking) has passed the AL test, he is an accomplished t/ler but has radical and unabashed views.

This is what vids I want posted up on the site. "Non-Terop" is the term for the creditless opening/ending themes for an anime (or any other sequence for that matter).

The problem is, the AL vid system is kinda flawed. I can't overwrite what vids are already cached, so I need to ask Kaitou to change the code or something, on top of overhauling the video admin page. This particular problem is kinda troublesome because there are better vids than some that have been put up, and that creditless OPs are supplied with DVD releases so there has to be a delay between song's single release and subsequent lyrics up and the right video to be featured on the lyric's page.

There's just so many things that need improvement and sadly, despite Kaitou's utter brilliance with coding, the site hasn't ...More Read More

Yes I do micro-blog, never before has words come ever so cheap but standard blogging is and will still be around for intellectuals, must be said.

Did a few mente inbetween this space, and... need suggestions on what show to break next. Slayers seem to be a good one but if you have any other suggestions, please put them here.

This year I've gone with Miyu Kousaka from SimLove. She's the first twintail tsundere I've fallen for.

But time will tell if by the end of this year I've gone on to become a Yukari Aoyama fan just like my best friend.

I have a major interview in about a week's time, so I have to prepare for it. That means less toying around with other stuff and that includes lyric stuff.

NEET life is great, but sooner rather than later I need to start earning money for myself and my family. Work will take away all of my free time, but I think I had more than enough of that.

Wish me the best.

So... asked someone to do the Thai romanization of the Kiruminzoo theme songs. It wasn't hard to find, and I already knew beforehand that the song is 3 years old. I just hope Choco doesn't transliterate the kana-ised lyric and submit it.

Also, Merry Christmas everyone, I was gonna try and t/l this but I was busy on Christmas Eve...

...is cute.

Well that's not the point of this entry. You see, the theme songs are in Thai language.

So should I 1) wait for the single release on the 23rd to see how the Japanese put down the lyrics or 2) go online and find a "romaji" for the song since it's already out since 2006?

I can never quite agree on singable lyrics, but not because I'm a purist who frown at lyrics getting "localised" as much as games. It's more like the sentence transition flow of Japanese and English are different so, singing an English line to music that was meant to accomodate Japanese is like putting square pegs in round holes.

Our resident bluepenguin keeps a collection of singable lyrics on her site I think. And to add a positive point, I think it takes very much extra creativity to make them - beside the English translation you need to watch out rhyming and meaning too, triple the work.

I remember the days of old when Sandy Fox sang those dubbed OPs for dubbed anime, Rayearth and Kenshin for example, and suprisingly they were kinda good, but only because professionals were doin ...More Read More

Just to give a shout-out in appreciation to Shinobi Chirlind-Byouko for doing another round of Yu Yu Hakusho lyrics corrections. You can't imagine how daunting it is to review old stuff for songs you don't really fancy listening to anymore; to top off the boredom and cringe-inducing listening to cheesy 90's music, it's a humbling, sometimes terrible feeling that all this time you have misled the whole world when you find a mistake.

I doubt I've mentioned this, but I've read the whole YYH manga. I thought Kurama was a girl for so long [back then you don't know that (most of the time) only males wear gakuran (Ranma's Ukyou Kuonji made it worse)], and as far as I can remember I enjoy reading the whole of it and don't mind marathoning it again. The only disappointment was that the ending arc was abruptly ended (would have liked the tournament to be shown...). My fave character is probably Hagiri, h[/back] ...More Read More
