From the hit manga magazine, Shojo Beat, the hit volume Nana has finally come out in bookstores. Nana is so popular that there was even a movie made in Japan from it. Enough about the movie, here is more about the graphic novel itself.
Nana is a story about two girls that have the same name, but look and act oppositely. The first Nana, called Nana O or Hachi as her friends call her, is a giddy, blonde always happy boy-crazy girl that dresses in bright cheery colors. Nana K, on the other hand, is a dark grunge rocker that has a boyfriend that made it big and left her behind. She dresses like a gothic rocker with her own flair. She does not care what her friends or anyone thinks about her, she does her own thing because she is trying to make it big in the music industry, just like her boyfriend.
When Hachi and Nana K meet on the bus one day, going to the same place with two very different goals, this somehow brings them close together, and the two girls end up living together. Their living arrangements do not come cheap, but the two manage somehow. Hachi and Nana K. are not without their troubles thought. From boy problems to money matters, Nana and Hachi have their hands full of drama and excitement as well.
But throughout it all, Nana and Hachi manage to stick together, until the very end. Or, so they promised to each other. Will that promise withhold as new developments crop up in the story? Read to find out!
