I like her kimono, or is it a shrine maiden outfit?? I honestly don't know the difference. >_> Anyway, here she is, and yeppers I colored her too. ^_^

The background is too busy and the character is getting lost in it. I would try to make a background that helps make the character stand out more.

The bevelling doesn't look right. It's too noticeable, especially in the gap between her sleeve and bow.

Why don't you add some more depth to your colouring instead of flat block colour? There is nothing to define the folds of the cloth except the lines themselves. It's the same with the eyes. One shade of green with a highlight gives them a glazed, dead expression.

Well, Luthor, here you go. A field. Admitedly, I suck at this. Thing is that I've never done anything quite as realistic. Nah, used to dabbling in the WTF?! realm more than reality. So, be gentle? Heh... This is my first attempt at trying to make a field. I don't know what the hell I'm doing so... >_>

make the field a bit greener. Her colours are strong so the green shouldn't take over much if you darken it. Add a shrine.

except that her and the temple are almost the exact same size...
either the temple should be alot smaller or she should be smaller...
at least thats what i think...
somethin about the sky color bothers me too...

you're on the right track. I agree with Luthor of the perspective..I would make the temple smaller because she is up closer.

personally, i like the one where the temple was bigger... but it was a bit grainy
i think you should keep the big temple one and make the character smaller, and give her a small shadow on the ground, but it's coming along (much better than your fist attempt - i assure you)
