Been trying to finish this one for a while....first time ive used an image scanned with my own fair hand :P

Ranef and Eclipse from the wonderful manga "Demon Diary"...love the artwork in it :)

I don't know about that text but I do know that the rainbow in the back is rather unnecessary. Unless it's from the show itself but it's not working with a background like this. Try like, dried leaves or something =|

at first I didn't even see the rainbow until I read what asher said. Yea, I would also get rid of the rainbow and add leaves or dried up dead tree branches..seems like a dark mysterious show..and the text could be a little clearer. Other than that I like the scan. Good Job! :)

It's not that dark a story in that it's slightly shonen-ai. With that in mind the rainbow is somewhat appropriate.

Brown leaves can be pretty "romantic" too ^.^ In an appropriate setting that is (with the golden sun and a nice wind~)

it's very pretty; i love the colors and the background a lot. The only issue is that the image looks pixilated, which is a common error when scanning images.

lol....what you doing here pip?...hehe good to see you here *cowers in fear of future slagging his walls will get now*...shes an art/english/archiology student btw :P

anyways...ahh the rainbow...to be honest it was just a bit of a throwaway i put in to give the back ground a bit of depth...and i thought the colors in it set it off nicely :) ill try putting something else in its place...tree branches sounds good..could make that fit with teh "old oil-painting" feel i was going for...

as for the scanned image..sheesh this was teh worst one if ever worked with (in some ways)...at first i thought it was just moire from the scanning process untill i realised it wasnt...the original pic was ratehr small...say 2inchesx3inches...at 300dpi it turns out thats the pattern from the pigment on the paper...well to cut a long story short...no matter what tricks i did i couldnt smooth it without loosing detail...sooo...i smoothed it and blured it and layered it underitself with soft-light - was the best i could come up with...any otehr ideas? - ill smooth it anyways a when i redo therainbow bit (if pip lets me - she seems attaced to it hehe) and you can tell me what you think :)

maybe make it a 1024x768 instead of a larger size, that way u wnt have to stretch the image more than is nessecary, :^_^:

If you wanted more details, maybe add light streaks/swirls or sparkles. May make it look more shiney.

The tree is starting to grow on me (not literally). It seems to echo Eclipse's hair. (He’s the taller, seme looking one) Though I still stand in defence of the rainbow!

How about a single leaf falling from the tree, either in autumnal tones or in silhouette? Or would that overload the symbolism to you think?

ohh I like..the first one with the rainbow reminded me of the story Wuthering Heights. Now, it looks like it more..lol Very good. I like it.
