@@ Paint Shop Pro 8 has a great tool called background eraser. It helped quite a bit. My selection got screwed up but the BG eraser tool really helped me clean it up...xx; but also erased parts of the image that I had to re-paint myself (you can probably tell where.) I really like how the BG turned out but I purposely didn't add too much more to it so there'd be more room for ideas and critique.

Hm, maybe there is too much contrast in the bg, maybe just hue the bg a bit.

Hrm...well here is a second version. I still have the first version to work on if this one doesn't look right.

Hm, better with the bg!
Now the text dosn't fit well, maybe make it a bit visible or/and movie it on the left part

OK, so keep the glow on her? Alright, here's the third version, no glow, no text. I'm working on my fourth version.

Hm, I like it with the glow, but lets see what will others have to say :)

Lesee... you're using PSP, right? Hmm... Been awhile... erm. I like version 4.0 the best. However, with her name, why not rasterize the font layer and add a soft focus to it? The one that would give it a halo. I can not remember what it is called at the mo. Anyway, I think that would look good, also, it looked best in the center. Had something to look at instead of a blank circle.Good job, you've almost got it done. ^_^

Well, as suggested I moved her name back to the center and used a soft focus on it....I also moved my signature down further...When I tried putting it on my desktop I could see it coming over my taskbar...

i like the font, but make it darker. it stands out too much. very good

03-21-2004, 03:27 PM
Well....I've been thinking about changing the font I'm using...here's a list of my decorative fonts and how her name looks using each one (@@ I don't have very many..I need to download more.)

i like the first font on the list, try that one, but a tiny bit darker.

i like 2nd 3rd 4th and last
NebbyTheEX-Parrot
03-21-2004, 03:56 PM
OK...this is using the first font on the list...I didn't apply the bevel effect to it and tried making the colors darker but used the soft focus on the text again
Gjallarhorn
03-21-2004, 03:59 PM
ooo. i think it looks really good.

THAT one! That's the best one! I love that font!! Where'd you get it?

^^ thank you. I still really like the bevelling though...oh well I guess I'll stick to using it on text in my collages...^^; every time I use it on a wallpaper every one says to take off the bevelling. Umm is that it or is there still room for improvement? me personally, the parts that I had to repaint are really bugging me...I wonder if a little clone brushing can help..hrm...As for the font...@@ I can't really remember...when I was going through a bunch of my old floppy disks I found it on one of them...I'll try finding the site it was on, it's called Ruritania.

now try making the text in yuna's skirt colors ( or is it really a skirt?)
NebbyTheEX-Parrot
03-21-2004, 04:33 PM
??? @@ you've got me confused, there isn't any text on her skirt.
Gjallarhorn
03-21-2004, 04:36 PM
no....she ment that u should make the text the same colors as her skirt. i think its good the way it is.

03-21-2004, 04:48 PM
well.... I thinks its great that way

03-21-2004, 06:09 PM
oo; the whole wall or just the font?
Xian Pu
03-21-2004, 09:41 PM
The background needs to be lightened up a bit is all. The font and Yunnie is fine.
Candy-chan
03-21-2004, 11:57 PM
but can you please try making the text in pale to dark blue ( the tones of yunas skirt) for me? i just want to see what effect it would give
NebbyTheEX-Parrot
03-22-2004, 10:49 AM
OK..I tried making the BG lighter by using a different kind of light on it AND I made Yuna's name in the same colors as her skirt (maybe not exactly but pretty darn close oo')

03-22-2004, 12:22 PM
I don't like the font; I think it's unnecissary. The wallpaper would look fine without the text.
NebbyTheEX-Parrot
03-22-2004, 12:56 PM
...Seeing it without the text is odd but somehow I like it more. The background itself was not what I started with. I was fooling around when I made it and liked it so much more than the intended BG that I got rid of the bottom layer and put it in and it worked so much better than the first.
Xian Pu
03-22-2004, 01:16 PM
Yeah, that looks good w/out the font.
NebbyTheEX-Parrot
03-22-2004, 01:37 PM
^^ guess that wraps it up then? XX; it's still nowhere near as good as the walls I've seen on the site...but I guess I might try and submit it anyway. Thank you for all the ideas/critique and nice comments on it..=P I feel like I'm at an awards show LOL. @@ 10 versions....dang. XD now to work on my next wall! and maybe a few collages...
