I have to disagree with that, Trieze has ideal's, has armies of soldiers who back him and respect him, he has so much influential power in the world and died with honour, he's a great soldier and leader. Duo however, well doesn't really have much going for him, oo sure he has the Deathscyhte but what else, well that's all that come to mind, and he's alsways being easily beaten by the others, he's cocky - too cocky and well i can't really think about any good qualities about him!?

Zechs and Duo are pretty much the only characters in the entire show that I even like. Zechs because he's hot (I'm shallow, I know). Duo because he's just...well...awesome. He's the best pilot and most interesting character.

And I know that most of you probably aren't into THIS aspect of the show, but my favorite pairing is 2x1. Though sometimes I enjoy a bit of 2x1x5, or 6x2, or even 2x6x1. Heh...looks like math. XD

Actually no, not really. Rei was made so that it would be guaranteed there would be someone who could pilot unit 01, what with the 0-9 factor of probabilities of compatibility... after all, it wouldnt be too unlikely for Shinji to have commited suicide or something like that if he was told to :P So yeah, he couldnt be relied on.

Thats very, very close to why fuyutski had no objections though... being at college, and having not watched it for a while (at least a fortnight :() i cant givew the precise lines, but its made expecially clear in the directors cut editions that Rei was nothing more than a Yui substitute in fuyutskis eyes. Which i guess was kinda good for him, because he wuvved yui but the big bad gendou stole her. kinda. she wasnt his to begin with, so its not completely accurate to say that, but you get the idea...

I'd comment on stuff about her personality etc, but I think i've strayed enough off topic for now >.<

piloting- Her synch ratio wasnt amazing, but believe it or not considering what kind of soul she was trying to synch with, its not surprising. Same for the bandages- believe it or not being hurt by an unavoidable situation is not a sign of weakness of character. Just like you being run down by a bus wouldnt make you like alex, physical problems over which you have no control are not something to judge people by.

Also of note- if you died not once, but at least twice, you'd be extremely lucky to be still around, albeit with bandages etc. You cant fault a person for that, either;)

Rei is part Yui, part Lillith. She was created mostly to be able to cause third impact or whatever, more so than for her to be a pilot. I agree with Black Death in that she wasn't exactly the best... Or perhaps it was just that the Evas hated her, too, so liked to freak out whenever she was in them. Example: Yellow Unit 00 freaking out and bashing the window to attempt to get to Gendo.

And... Yeah, I think Heero's SUPPOSED to be a male Rei. Think about it... Heero Yuy... Heero sounds like "zero." Rei=zero. Rei is part Yui, Heero's last name is Yuy. Rei likes to blow herself up and say she can be replaced, Heero likes to blow himself up and say he can be replaced. Rei shows no emotion and does whatever she's told. Heero shows no emotion and does whatever he's told. If one isn't supposed to be fashioned after the other, then I'm a monkey's uncle...

Black_Death, in regards to Duo's...um...joy joy whateverness... While yes, they are terrorists and assassins, they are also supposed to be able to pose as average teenaged boys. Duo's really the only one who can pull this off well. Perhaps Quatre can, too...if he ditches his pack of large men that follow him everywhere. But, Duo can blend in with the other kids. Besides... If you really think about it... Duo's not really all perky and happy. It's a common mask that people wear to hide a much more depressing side. Know anything about Duo's past? Episode Zero stuff? But, yeah, anyway... Duo's very serious when he needs to be, and quite possibly the most skilled out of all the other pilots. If I recall correctly, he spent less time training than most of the others, yet was able to progress to such an advanced stage so quickly. Duo is one of the most complex characters in the anime, if you really think about it. It ticks me off when people write fanfics that portray him as some stupid, hyper joker...

NO, Duo was out numbered by machines, machines are always flawed with there programing, the can never be perfectly efficient! Which is even more proof that he lacks skill as a pilot!
