The translation of the lines Please don't say "You are lazy"
だって本当はcrazy as Please don't say "You are lazy" 'Cause seriously, this is crazy! has been bothering me.
Wouldn't it translation to Please don't say "You are lazy" Because I'm actually crazy. Something to that effect because wouldn't だって indicate that the speaker's disapproval with another speaker saying they were lazy and not crazy?

I never saw that line in that light ...I actually like it, gives it a big more coherence imho...even though it's most likely meant the way you suggest
(that's how I understood it as well).

I have my opinions, but.... fine, it's the consensus so I'll change it.
Still, gimme the reason why the singer would declare themselves crazy and then make all sorts of excuses if you like, to say they are only human. If they meant "crazy" in a good way then I didn't actually see that lol

1) The singer is clearly crazy for thinking that lazy and crazy would make a great rhyme
3) I've met girls refering to themselves as crazy in more or less a good way ^^°

The line perfectly makes sense coz it's not refer to the singer.

I always rather saw it as "Because truthfully, I'm crazy!". I'm not quite sure how you see it, so forgive me if I'm explaining something that's obvious... but the way I see it:
Please don't say "You are lazy"
This isn't the speaker saying "Don't call yourself lazy", this is the speaker saying "Don't tell me that I am lazy", so I think the next line being "Because truthfully I'm crazy!" makes a lot of sense. The way I see it, crazy here is as LavaBug said it, a girl calling herself crazy meaning exciting or fun-loving. More than anything I think that word was just chosen to rhyme with "lazy" though. :D

As I see "Don't call yourself lazy" is the one making more sense coz calling
your self Lazy is itself a crazy thing
I thought that this might be a way to look at it. Thats just my opinion

Okay okay it was just me taking life too seriously (I've never seen "crazy" meant in a good way). Sorry for misleading the whole world until now. There's always better versions like Atashi's t/l anyway.
