did this (the bike needed a considerable touching up to get rid of pixilation) anyways, i'm not sure if it needs something else. i really don't want to put text in this one personally. whatcha think?
*note wall is 1280x1024 if you want a smaller one let me know

I think it's a good concept. But I would just take out the filter from the background, and grayscale the background.

Looks much better without the filter, cool wall!
I dunno; with the filter it's kinda tacky, but without, it just doesn't fit. I think you need to simplify the background, without taking too much away from the shape; something that reduces the details, but not skews it around...
Anyways, the concept is good, and I like the dark simplicity to it; but I stand by my statement that manga scans/screenshots shouldn't go on walls in most cases; I guess with Akira your choices are kinda limited though.

hmmm, any ideas on how to reduce the detail without messing up the pic?
oh, and i don't think the chara was a screenshot here's the original i used. (http://www.northarc.com/images/akira/akira04.jpg)

I've always found a low intensity Watercolor or Cutout filter to work best...then if it's still too strong after you apply it...go to EDIT then FADE the filter.

this seems a bit better (faded cutout), i'm still not sure though...
*edit: fixed levels on chara

can you do something for that cracky line in the sky? what do you think of a light grey hue on the chara? btw good job
acamori

crackly line in the sky? hmm, you mean where it changes from one shade of grey to another? as for the hue on the chara, i wanted him to be sharp so he really stood out on the wall, and i think a grey hue would make him look washed out a bit
