"Let's see. It should be somewhere here." Looking around, Vasil seemed lost. He knew no italian, since he was born in Canada, but his family stems from Britain. He couldn't ask for directions to St.Marks cathedral. "All I was told that it was a really huge building."

In the empty streets of Venice, he felt he was being watched. Though this was unusual considering he carries a soul gem around with him. Continuing his walk, he kept feeling off. Even though it was night time, he expected to see at least a few other people on the streets of Venice. The sound of steel meeting the ground from his greaves were echoing through-out the area when he came in stop of a huge building. "I guess this is St.Mark's then."

Opening the doors, he walked into the interior of the cathedral. Feeling small and insignificant as he looked up and saw mosaics all over the ceiling of biblical figures. Walking down, he remembered hearing one of the devil's he killed mention the name Garl and Astrea. Though he thought of it as mere coincidence that a devil share the name of his ancestor. Humans, afterall, can't live that long. Coming to an altar, he saw many people there. Alive, and praying. But this still felt off. The job told him of a devil that was within the cathedrals walls. But all he saw were people praying and an empty altar. "I guess it was another prank then."

When he was about to turn around, a figure began floating down from the sky. A woman who appeared in her mid-twenties, a black robe and golden decorations and a golden tiara, bunching up her hair. She also had six arms, one holding a book, and another holding what appeared to be a staff. "Huh. Guessing your a False Idol devil then?"

"Unbeliever, what doth thou want in thine holy sanctuary."

"I've come to kill you. So I can get some money." Drawing his sword and looking around at the people praying, still feeling off about them. He knew that if he attacked the devil now, he would have to fend off the humans here without killing them. It was his disadvantage. "So, why are these humans praying to you?"

"Thy holiest of believers will be taken to thy holiest maiden Astrea to heal thy plauged bodies. Thou understandeth this, unbeliever?"

Looking at them carefully, their bodies had become disfigured almost. Their skng seemed rotting, and the bones visible. As though they had starved themselves. "So, by taking them by this, Astrea person. They'll be save?"

"Watch thy tongue knave. Thou shalt not speaketh of the holy Astrea in vain."

"So she's a devil too, wonder how much I'll get for her."

"Silence heathen!" The devil converged a faint blue light on her staff and shot it out at Vasil, who dodged. The people around him still praying even as he had a sword drawn. "Thou haft speakth of the holy Astrea in vain too much!"

"So after I'm done with you, I'll go check the price on her head."

"Even if thou does findeth the holy Astrea, she is protcted by Garl Vinland!"

Vasil stopped in his tracks and looked at the devil. "Looks like I'll be looking for the price on her head afterwards then. But first is to make you shut up, your old english is giving me a headache."

The mist swirled and ebbed, gray faded into gray endless, in an unbroken tide. It was so calm, so ageless.

Two will o' wisps glimmered, then a third, bobbing and floating in a effortless dance until the mists receded to reveal their nature. Three glowing portals, the eyes and the mouth, emitting light from a husk of desiccated leathery skin, like the shell of a cicada forgotten in the midsummer sun.

Only their was motion, unlife lifted this carapace in a dense macabre. Its eye shone with the complexity of feral nature. Those eyes rang of an eternity, of ghostly vigor that stretched out from shrieking unrest. But that shriek was silent, a scream that could only be seen, not heard, and seen only by the doomed.

The creature stank of wrongness, its creation seemed abominable and yet... strangely innocent, like the monster that did only what it had been designed to do, lying beneath the moralities that bound its creators to such conceptions as good and evil. But even the most forgiving could not absolve it and grant it life, a hunger, though innocent by intent, still sins when it devours, quashing life to feed naive desires.

The creature shuffled along the misty path unseeing, the silence broking by the crinkling of its dry skin. It drifted, aimless, towards some new meal, unthinking of what might await it.

Steps echoed through a street tough none was seen. The sound ran under a balcony of a elder woman whom was hanging her laundry and she hissed since she saw none come from under her balcony "spirito agitato*" and quickly went inside slamming the balcony doors a few moments later two devils flew by. Efra would have laughed if she heard her of if she had time to laugh but being hunted left very little time for that. she ran over a bridge and took a left turn 'i need to lose them' she already tryed standing still and let them fly by a few times but they did not fall of it. as soon as her footsteps stopped they stopped. she stopped when she saw a devil hunter not to far away from her, standing infront the cathedral 'great just great, as if the devils arent bad enough'. Efra preffered to stay away from devilhunters since she was not sure she had a price on her head last thing she needed was them chases her to.

She looked over her shoulder 'but maybe' he entered the cathedral and she follwed rather close behind and hid behind a few church benches since she blended in he did not see her though she doubted he would have eyes for her with the high devil around.

Commissar Brunev
Tanya Pavelovnov
Nikolai Badanov
Alexei Telinov

Location: Hades/Hell - Stalingrad during WW1 within the mind.

Bombed out, abandoned buildings in a place crawling with Germans...This was no surprise for a Russian soldier especially when the buildings were in his own city. Normally, this would give the Red Army a tactical advantage but the Nazis far outnumber them. This was when Fyodir came into play...This is when his story begins.

"Fyodir! You will be heading with Nikolai, Alexei, and Tanya to Stalingrad with the rest of the 11th tank crew to hold back the enemy. Nikolai, make sure the tanks get through with minimal damage. We will need them for a planned assault. Tanya and Alexei, you two will assist each other and eliminate any panzerchreck crews who might serve as a major threat.

"Yes, Commissar. We will do what we can. Right guys?"

"I'll show you why I'm fantastic with a tank. You just man the MG and cannon, Fyodir. I will drive. Tanya, will you keep us covered with Alexei?"

"Nothing gets past my rifle."

"I will get Tanya and myself into any building and clear it out so we can take out the panzerchreck crews."

"Right, let's move out!!!

The crew entered the tank and brought 6 more tanks with them. Heading into Stalingrad, Nikolai said,

"There's some! Fyodir, light them up and Alexei, ready the cannon!"

Getting on the radio to the other tanks in the group, Nikolai ordered them to fire upon the buildings with turret gunners, panzerchrecks and snipers in the windows. With cannons raised to the windows and various buildings, numerous booms rang forth and shells started knocking some Germans out of them while ceilings collapsed from other buildings.

"Germans in the streets!!! Use the MGs!!!"

All hell broke loose as Fyodir and the other MGs shot Nazi after Nazi until the Stuka bombers came and the artillery strikes came ringing from the skies. The incoming whistles and screams from the artillery and bombers were dead giveaways.

"Tanya! Alexei! Get into a building and eliminate any Panzerchreck crews on the streets we might have missed! All tanks, let's retake Red Square!"

It was a foolish move to head in despite success in retaking the square for upon quick celebration for the Bolsheviks, artillery at the last minute came down on them, killing all within. A graveyard of tanks have now been stuck in the underworld surrounded by a number of misshapen, bombed-out buildings.

Dawn sat alone in her room, molding the head of her new doll.

"Now, what should I do for her hair?"

Whispers could be heard suggesting various things.

"Red and curly, I like that..."

She worked on it and set it down, a pretty little doll, minus the eyes. She never added eyes to her dolls, she found the souls she binded to them added their own eyes.

Yosi stayed well distant of the cathedral... he knew what was happening and knew who was involved, save the human whose name appear in the Ars Goetia merely as Vasil Vinland. The individual in question was human and thus there was no information save as could be revealed second hand in the biographies of the demons involved, which was little. But that was fine, Yosi's interest was not in the human but in the devils... he knew that there was the main devil at the altar, but also a second devil in the back called Efra... according to the Goetia she was capable of blending in with her surroundings. He moved closer to the cathedral but remained outside and away from windows so he could not be seen. He was mere human, no power or strength and knew that if he was spotted he would not survive. His desire for the truth was tempered by the knowledge that death was the price of a misstep.

The blood-text on the page moved as new additions appeared to keep pace with the changing circumstances. However, he couldn't get a perfect sense of what was happening since it was just a textual approximation. But than... that was why he was here in the first place.

He had discovered the Goetia not a week ago and while the book was filled with knowledge, he knew that there was no replacement for first hand knowledge. Yosi's eyes would see the truth of the books writing.

Teku was walking through the streets, He was looking around People were giving him dirty looks,Not that anything from that was not normal. Teku knew he was not normal. He knew he was a Half-Devil. He shruged and sighed. He thought he would never have a normal life.
While he walked back to His buissness he looked around. It had been quite." Hmmm, Pretty quite." He laughed then smiled unlocking The door to his buisness. He looked around the room, He figured the place needed a tune up since The place looked duller then anything he had seen before. he sat down in his chair in his lobby, even though the lobby was the only room in the building.

She carried her favorite doll in her arms, facing it outward so it could view their surroundings. She was heading for another gate so she may travel to an area that seemed to be heated with activity: Italy

More activity meant more death. More death possibly meant more dolls for her collection

"So....is this the spot." Myurn said to the African who was walking with her down the streets of a town in Pemba Island. " Yes....Yes mam'. " The man said rubbing his hands together.
"You know this won't be free or cheap."
"yes mam', but wer' willin' to pay. Dis' is something we want killed."
Myurn took notice to where she was and instantly knew what type of devil it was. "I'm betting it's a Popo bawa." Myurn said as the night got darker
Yes, and we need it dead."
Just then a scream was heard and the man said "Dat's it!" and took off running in the direction of the scream.
"Okay, let's go." Myurn took off and caught up with the man very quickly passing him. Myurn came to a stop infront of a house. The man began to panic as he looked through the door and saw more than one Popobawa moving towards a little girl. Myurn began to speak, "Three Mapopobawa that'll be extra." The man began to give a look on his face saying that he wasn't willing to pay. "Bye." She said walking off.
"No,No Wait!" The man said reaching his arm towards her, "We'll pay..."
"I thought so." As one of the Popobawa jumped towards the little girl Myurn summoned Yuki, using the invisiblee cords connected into her to control her, who froze the area around the girl keeping her protected. The popobawa who jumped towards the girl rammed into the ice, yelled, and turned around to fake Yuki. "This will be fun Myurn said as the popobawa ran at yuki.

Fyodir was stuck in the rubble of his wrecked vehicle, thinking to himself.

Please...someone find me...someone set me free from this tank turned prison...

Out of nowhere he heard another voice...

Fyodir...you there?

"Nikolai!? Nikolai, where are you!!!"

Gone from any possible existence except that of the voices inside your head. I'm not the only voice though...isn't that right?

Fyodir, are you alright? It's me, Tanya. That bombing hurt us bad.

Sergeant Belinki, this is Alexei. What happened?

Fyodir looked around, thinking he wasn't alone...that his comrades were really around.

"I don't seem to feel any pain now...The last thing I remember is our squad retaking Red Square and then getting completely annihilated by Stukas and Artillery after completion of the mission."

That might explain why Tanya, Alexei and myself don't have bodies anymore. We must've been completely blown apart. You are lucky though as you still have your body. If you're back from the dead, then surely that means that there is a heaven and there is a hell. Being set in this tank, I'd say the four of us are in hell. Maybe you can get out of hell though as there is a "gate" that will lead you to certain locations. I think you will need our help as we've done a bit of research as you were out cold. Tanya, please explain.

Certainly, Nikolai...Fyodir, there are objects called "soulgems" that seem to augment a devil's capabilities. We sent a mess of Germans to hell and I have no doubt they have taken the form of devils. The three of us...Nikolai, Alexei and myself will be your soulgems.

A yellow gem, a green gem, and a purple gem showed up in front of Fyodir's eyes. The yellow disappeared and Alexei said...

My soulgem will allow you extra speed and intelligence, allowing you to develop better strategies and be quicker in battle. Don't forget me, Sarge.

Next the green disappeared as Tanya said,

Fyodir, let my eyes become yours with this soulgem. Give those Germans hell with a dead eye and skill with sight. Alexei and I will stay with you to the very end.

Lastly, the purple disappeared as Nikolai said,

Let my soulstone give you the vitality and strength that damn near equals that of our tank. You are still killable but it will be much more difficult to do so. Let the Red Army shine forth once again.

With the voices gone, the tank slowly faded away and Fyodir could finally see. Buildings twisted and morphed slightly...craters in the ground, a wrecked fountain with a knocked over statue of Josef Stalin...It was Red Square...but it was the aftermath of the war. Looking down one of the craters, he saw a gate, wide open for him to step through. He picked up his rifle and his knife and said to himself as he stepped through the gate.

"I will avenge you guys as a devil...If the Germans we killed took the form of devils also, then I shall kill them despite being the same race. I love you guys."

New Location: Pemba Island, Tanzania.

Stepping out of the gate, Fyodir, charred and blood-stained military fatigues and all found himself in the town of another country. It most certainly was not Russia as the streets here were all dirt roads and there were differently structured buildings around. Hearing a scream, he started following it, Mosin-Nagant rifle at the ready.

Arriving at the scene, he saw a small girl of different skin color surrounded by three creatures. He ran into a building and went to the upper floor, peeked through the window and used Tanya's eyes for the first time, taking a dead lock on the head of one of the creatures. For the first time in what seemed like ages, Fyodir pulled the trigger to the rifle, putting a round into the creature's skull. He pulled back quick to make sure they didn't see him and he pulled the lever back to ready round two of five before reloading.

Oh, how I missed firing you. How I missed killing something. It feels great to be able to kill something once again.

His footsteps seemed to echo all around him despite nothing to echo off. The streets were as empty as they were always when he walked through them, but it wouldn't be for long. What drove him to walk through these place again he didn't know but he knew jumping through Purgatory was the fastest way to get around the human world. He sped up as he rounded a corner. He could feel them now. Crawling around him, seeing him as nothing more then prey to be fested on. In there mindless struggle he was just another piece of food. As he reached a more open area he turned in one sweeping motion, a sword materilising in his hands. They were all there. Simple Marionette level devils. More then twenty five of them crawled into the open area.

Jace shook his head slowly, a sign of his pity for the creatures. He looked at them as they fanned out around him, now aware of the sword in his hand. They sought to surround and overwhelm him. A small grin appeared on his face as he watched them.
"I don't even need to release to fight you all. Rank is not everything." He scraped his sword lightly across the ground as he readied himself. They tensed. "If you have skill and brains, defeating higher ranks becomes possible. Yet as you are there is no chance. Let me put you out of your misery."

They attacked him quickly coming at him from all sides and he dived straight into them. His art of killing perfected, even with but a human body he could fight them easily. Each sweep of his sword killed one, each step took him away from their attack and them into his. One by one they began to fall. The other heedless of those dying around them. His blade became a beautiful crimson as he made arcs of blood fly through the sky. After a mere few minutes the fight was over and he was standing surrounded by their dead bodies. He leaned down calmly and wiped his blade on one of them to clean it. Then he dismissed it, it vanished back into a thin grey mist before being blown away.

Saying nothing more he stepped over them and continued walking. It wouldn't be long until he found a way out and maybe someone stronger.

It was a classic setting for a horror/romance movie. The young, pretty girl walks through a dark alley way without suspecting a thing. In the shadows, the creature lurks, waiting to pounce and devour the maiden. This scene is usually followed by the handsome blond-hair-blue-eyed bystander jumping out to rescue the girl, killing the monster and saving the day.

Too bad there was no such thing.

Because one, Melanie was no frail, unsuspecting maiden. And two, she didn't need some pretty boy to save her from the devil that was currently sprawled out in a bloody heap behind her. No one saw her draw the snow colored gun, certainly not the devil. It was dead before it knew what hit it. A second bullet shattered the soul gem peeking out from beneath the blood and flesh.

And so the young maiden rode off into the moonlight with her prince on his white horse.

Not happening, Melanie scoffed. She threw on her hood and walked off alone, into the darkness. There was no moon tonight, much less a perfect guy waiting with his horse.

But this ending wasn't half bad. She had never liked those stupid happily-ever-after stuff anyway.

With the two creatures having their backs turned to the girl, Fyodir screamed...

"The building in front and to the left of you!!! Run up to the second floor and I'll protect you, little girl!!!"

They want to hurt that girl? They're going to have to kill me first and that's not going to happen. I hope that girl can get in here pretty quick. I need to talk to her to find out my location.

Everything was going on so quickly for Fyodir. The adrenaline rush had kicked in already. He hadn't received a combat high in a long time. The rush was amazing for him.

Myurn was about to kill the Devil, when a loud noise was heard and it dropped to the ground in front of Yuki. "Who was that?" Myurn pulled Yuki towards her ready to fight who ever it was that was able to kill a Popobawa with a 1 shot kill. When the man yelled Myurn turned towards him. "Hmmm, He looks but doesn't seem Human." She began to yell. "Hold on, let e finish this and I'll be right up. "He seems strong maybe He'll join my business or if not I kill him and make him my puppet. The other two Mapopobawa were looking at man who was yelling. They began to run at the man but were stopped by a wall of ice. Yuki swung her fan and ice shards flew from it piercing one of the Popobawa in the arm. It let out a scream when Yuki slammed her fans to the ground making an ice pillar break through the ground killing the Popobawa. "One left." Myurn said pulling Yuki back beside her. The other Popobawa began to fly away to save itself. "You arn't going anywhere." Myurn extended her hand and as a cord came out of her hand appeared the young man named Yuudi. He drew a crossbow and shot three shots at the popobawa killing it. She turned to the man. "I'll pick up my pay later, go check on the girl." Myurn pulled the cords from the bodies and they disappeared. Myurn jumped up to the window the other man was in. "Who are you?" She said hopping inside the building. Fyodir looked around at the minimal carnage that took place from the window and continued...

"I probably shouldn't talk so I'd best keep moving."

Nameless waited in the fog once the demon had left, leaving in its wake the dead bodies of countless marrionettes, Nameless stepped out from its hiding place. It began to shuffle through the dessicated bodies for the soul gems that were the cause of each marrionette. Each one had two, the balance of the two soul gems was what caused them to become marionettes. Without internal concensus the individual could not act, and a house divided against itself could not stand.

But all this was beyond Nameless' mind, all it knew was that soul gems were its desire and dead marionettes contained them. It fed on the soul gems putting each one in its mouth and adding yet more gems to its ever growing quantity.

Fyodir strapped his rifle to his back and asked the nearest citizen where the nearest place to eat was. The citizen pointed down to a building near some steps. Fyodir nodded, thanked the citizen and headed off. Down at the restaurant, he sat at an outside table and ordered some minestrone with water. Across the way, there was a place meant for tea but that wasn't of his concern. He was hungry and he wanted something warm in his stomach.

Xin sat on bench in a park near the airport watching as the people went by unsuspecting that there were devils mixed in with them. He sighed as he got up and walked away. He walked for more than an hour and turned into a alley to make it a shortcut toward his home away from home. As he continued to walk, he heard a scream and saw two women getting attacked by five men.
" Leave them alone and I will spare your worthless lives." Xin said as he created a bone spear from his spine.
" Hey, you a magician?" One of them said pointing, " Cause the trick ain't funny."
Without speaking, Xin swept the man off of his feet with the spear and hit another person with the other side. The other three pulled out guns and started shooting at him. Xin created bone armor and watched as the bullets fell off of his body. They stared in disbelief and ran away from him screaming. The bone turned to dust and faded away as he walked over to the two terrified women.
" Are you two ok?" He said extending his hand.
They didn't even touch him for they were two scared to move. Xin put his hand down on the ground and created two bone daggers and placed them in front of the two women.
" I will help you if you need it, but keep these with you." Xin said walking away, " They're as hard as diamond and they won't break so use them if you want to."
He smiled as one of the women said thank you as he walked off. He couldn't take their soul gems, it would hurt him if he did. He sighed as he walked toward the hotel room he rented hoping to find a challenge.

"My name is Sgt. Fyodir Belinki of the 11th Bolshevik tank crew. I have reason to believe those I've killed in my past became devils now.

Fyodir pointed to his stained and singed clothing and said,

"Do you see all of this? I was killed in my home of Stalingrad, Russia as we were retaking Red Square from the Germans. My entire tank column and I were all killed after we succeeded. I had three comrades whom I was in the same tank with that got killed as well. Only recently have I learned about soulstones and what they can do. As a result, being the only one of the 11th tank column with a body remaining in hell, my closest comrades became my soulstones. Alexei Sokolov was a quick thinker and a great support unit. His soulstone allowed me enhanced speed and augmented intelligence. Tanya Pavelovnov was out greatest sniper whom Alexei provided support for. Her soulstone allowed me augmented sight and accuracy. Nikolai Badanov was our best tank driver. His soulstone augmented my brute strength and allowed me to be able to take more punishment than normal. I have reason to believe the Germans my column killed are now devils roaming the earth. I made it a vow to hunt down and kill every last German devil that exists. Despite being a devil myself, I hunt devils.

Fyodir looked around the room and saw the various equipment and papers and asked...

"I assume you hunt devils as well. In that case, I wish to join you in this business that you do. Double the jobs equals double the pay. Since there are two of us, we could even take on bigger jobs with hazard pay depending on the area. I know nothing of the here and now as I died in the Great War."

Leon looks at him with an indifferent look on his face. "So its revenge you're after" He walks over to where his sword and gauntlets were hanging out the wall "I heard that vengeance can blind you're vision and make you forget what's important to you" He straps on his gauntlets and holds his sword out and front of himself "But" Leon pauses turning toward Fyodir "Sometimes its the spice we need to remember why something is important to us" He gives a sly smirk at him as he straps his sword upon his back and reaches his hand out to Fyodir "A devil eh? At lease its better than a human"

Fyodir shook Leon's hand and said,

"Revenge may blind a person's vision but Tanya's soulstone allowed me her eyes. I fight to avenge the men who helped me take Red Square back from the Nazis. I fight to avenge my closest comrades. This rifle of mine, the Mosin-Nagant can easily pierce skulls. If something gets in close I got my good ol' knife at my side. I guess that makes us partners. Tell me though, I know this isn't the right thing for me to ask but, who won the war?"

He could feel it again. That strange devil he had felt before. As he had walked away from the gems of the worthless it had gone after them. Driven by basic and simple motions it would follow him if it felt he would leave more behind. The pitiful creature should be put out of its misery but it would not be worth wetting his blade with its' blood. Maybe if it one day grew a mind of its own it could be worth destroying. Till then he paid it no more heed them the rolling mists around him.

Standing before the hellgate he pondered over the existance of the structures. Had he still been in power maybe he could have stopped there creation. Those that created the first were powerful beings and a fight worthy of his blade could have been found there. Yet instead he was left to battle his mind and body. A horrid curse. Breathing deep he calmed his anger. No need to lose it all now. This hell gate should take him to someone strong. He stepped through, feeling no force stopping someone of his weak level. But as he pushed though he ripped at it to leave it open wider, so it would close slower.
"Follow." He thought, "Follow and find more that you may one day be worth fighting."

Jace breathed deep as he stepped into the cold. He could feel energies around him and wished to find those who were strongest. He stepped out into the street and his cold breath whipped up around him. It would be a good night to fight.

Dawn made sure she had Victoria with her as she left the tea shop. She walked the streets for a while until she felt different energies. One was definitely a hunter, there was no doubt about that. She could also smell some of her own kind...no where near as powerful, but higher ranking devils none the less. She couldnt help but wonder why this place was such a hot spot.

Efra decided to leave before the real battle broke out. she sneaked out a side door and looked around not seeing the devils that followed her at the moment. She walked back to the front and merged with the background while glancing around for the devils but al she saw was a male with a book not to far from the cathendrale. She braced herself and started running, running past the man with the book and took a few left and right turns. She panted when she stopped to catch her breath for a moment and walked backwards to keep a eye on the sky only to feel a rather strong devil behind her. She turned and saw jace and made a silent whimper, walked back slowly she yelped when something landed on her back. Glaring at none in particular she tryed to throw the devil off "got you efra, just give up" efra snarled and pulled a paste roll-on from her small bag "not your life" and manged to hit the devil with it he snarled and grabbed his head and she took the uportunity to grab his head as wel and break his neck "one down one to..". She stiffed as she realised with throwing the devil off she revealed herself, she turned to jace and snarled light trying to look more fearsome than she was.

Yosi cursed under his breath as he looked through the index of the Goetia. Venice new names were being added under the list of Devils in the location of Venice, lots more. He looked up each individually: Teku who was only a half devil but still listed in the Ars Goetia; Ikazuchi a Fallen-class devil; Erebus the history of him seemed complicated fall from power it seemed was implied, Fyodir Belinki a devil hunter and devil the individual seemed to have connection to russia's past, Dawn a Thanatos-class which made Yosi nervous just knowing it was nearby, there was also a number of marrionettes which Yosi glossed over. Previous experience had shown that all marrionettes were identically listed.

Yosi wanted to leave, he couldn't read fast enough to keep abreast of the present locations of all these new demons in addition to the demons he was already following. However, any move he made was just as likely to put him into more danger as to get him out of it. He needed a plan. For now though he followed the ever moving writing across the page.

The ragged bag of leather and balefire stepped onto the venetian streets. Its unnaturally blazing eyes illuminating the dark. It did not understand the words the stronger devil spoke, nor could it scry their intent, but rather it did what it would have done anyway. It could sense, instinctually where soul gems could be found, and this was such a place.

"Never mind who won. I have to get new clothing. These rags are a dead giveaway that I'm a devil or a soldier. However, I will keep them here. I shall find a tailor."

Fyodir began his search for new clothing. A charred, bloody outfit was nothing suitable for a soldier but it did inspire fear in some. As he walked down the road from Leon's shop, he caught sight of what looked to be a couple of soldiers in gray suits running to a cathedral. A small number of individuals were in sight as the soldiers spread to different buildings to ready an attack. Fyodir finally found his first great fight. He rushed in and ducked behind a car waiting for one of the soldiers to pop up in his sights. One was pointing his rifle at a girl attacking a devil...

Found you...

Taking a shot, he lodged a bullet in the enemy's heart, making him fall out of a window. The other soldiers, speaking in German started rushing to find Fyodir.

He decided to go out on the town and See if he could find a date or some one to hang with. He was always impatient. He looked around out side seeing the streets thinning with people."I guess i have to find a girl." He sighed again.
He started walking down the street, looking around at the girls walking by. none of them really looked like the fun wild type. He sighed once more."Man all these girls look like duds." he said to him self. he looked up to notice he was at the cathedral he never really had been in there before. Vasil stood up, drawing his sword from the motionless body of the devil beneath him. Around him were humans caught in the crossfire and were moaning in pain due to the fact Vasil had to break some of their bones. He himself was hurt. There was a hole in his arm from an attack from the devil the size of a quarter, he had cuts over his body and he was covered in blood that was both his and the Devils. Reaching around in the devil's corpse, he grabbed the soul gem from it and waited as the corpse began to dissipate. The sounds of sirens in the distance, the sound of police cars. Vasil looked around and looked at himself. "...This may be hard to explain if they catch me like this."

Tucking away the soul gem, and sheathing his sword, Vasil made a ran form the back door. Outside, he looked around and still heard the sirens. Seein the trail of blood he left, he ran across a bridge, into an alley, back onto the bridge and dove into the water. Taking a breathe he glanced as he heard the words of a foreign language being barked out in an order-like tone. The sound of men running were barely audible. "Why can't they be like all other Italians and be terrible at giving out orders?"

Diving into the water, he began swimming towards the streets he was walking down. Coming by a ladder he climbed out of the water and dried himself, followed by the dressing of the apparent bullet-like wound on his arm. Walking down and taking a left he saw his scooter, sitting there untouched. Taking a seat, he got the keys from his pocket and put it into the ignition and turned it. "Well, time to head to Rome then. Gotta find some clues on that Astrea person it kept saying."

Danny was in a funk. Depressed. As he walked the late-night streets of Venice, he hunched himself a little deeper into his coat, burying his hands in his jacket pockets and keeping his eyes on the sidewalk. He'd come all this way to this sinking rock because someone said there'd be work here. He couldn't find any. And he couldn't find any Hunters that wanted him tagging along, even after he demonstrated his powers. Maybe they weren't the most impressive demonstrations he put on, but he was under a lot of pressure! He didn't perform well under stress. He'd never performed well.

Daniel sighed, finding an empty bench and plopping down onto it, sighing hard, eyes on his worn boots. What was the point? He'd never be confident enough to be who he wanted to be, he'd never be good enough to work solo, he'd never get the girl, he'd never find anyone who valued his particular talents. Even when he did do something amazing, like make it look and sound like a building toppled in order to throw the Devils into a panic, it was never enough.

So he did the only thing he knew how to do when he was down, he got up and kept walking. "Always walk forward away from your troubles," he could hear his dad saying. Yeah, well, Dad never had to deal with being useless.

And then Daniel froze. He didn't know if it was premonition, paranoia, instinct, or his own timid nature, but he had that feeling he always had before a job, or when he thought a Devil was around, that gut-tightening, pulse-quickening, knee-shaking feeling that said, "RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN THE HELL AWAY!" He looked over his shoulder and kept walking, now too afraid to think about his personal troubles.

Nameless moved away, slinking away into the shadows, there was too much happening and all of the beings that were appearing were beyond its ken. It retreated towards the abyss of the midnight streets. It had not come seeking battle, violence, hatred, love, joy, sorrow, it knew not these concepts. They were high concepts, created by rational minds, minds that tried to order the world according to a priori principles. Nameless knew only hunger and need.

It slink through the allies, dry fleshless skin making a gentle rasp in the wet air of the canals. It did not have a guiding light to show it the way out of the ever revealing dark, but it continued regardless.

The demons were gone, and now Yosi was alone with his book. The female demon had departed, running off from pursuers that Yosi hadn't bothered too look up, according to her biography she had already killed one and was now confronting Jace. However, near both of the was Fyodir. Yosi decided not to follow, too much chaos to take the change. The other devil was dead and its body disintegrated. The hunter, Vasil, that had killed him had himself departed but Yosi knew not where. The Goetia did not detail the trivial lives of mortals.

However, there were pressing concerns for Yosi... there was the sounds of sirens and Yosi did not want to be associated with the mess inside the cathedral, his book might get confiscated.

He dashed off as fast as he could while carrying the cumbersome tome. The book was about folio sized, meaning it was a foot and half wide and two feet tall, making it very awkward to carry while running. The fact the thing was three inches deep didn't help matters.

Somehow though he managed to seperate himself from the police.

Fyodir had to eliminate the other four devil soldiers quickly before they could even kill someone. Another soldier was in his sights but at a horrible angle. He had to relocate and get to a better position. Running into a building, he headed to the top floor and peeked through a window to a soldier running outside close by the buildings. Fyodir focused his sights on the kneecap of the soldier and fired. The soldier unexpectedly dove behind a fruit cart, making the bullet pass by him without so much as grazing him. Fyodir was surprised...

"I missed? Huh...Looks like the Germans are wising up on my attacks a bit. Time to step it up a notch. Try this one, Nazi-spawn!"

Instead of going for the soldier, Fyodir shot a thin, spike-topped sign's brackets, causing it to fall on the unlucky pig.

The sun was barely rising when the hunched figure slapped his hands together as if in prayer, muttering a prayer for the food, and peeling off the plastic to the ramen in a cup. Steam floated into the light crisp morning air as he waited. What was he waiting for? His contractor. It was a rarity for this man to actually be sitting calmly while waiting for the man who employed him for this kill. Usually he would sought out his employer, drag him half naked out of his bed from pleasuring himself with his wife, and pulling him to the sighting. But today, the man called Sin sat cross-legged, calmly sipping at his ramen, slurping up the noodles silently, eyes closed. Beside him was his only weapons he took on this mission; a giant scabbard that housed 100 identical katana, all crafted perfectly, indestructible, and never dulling. He, for once in his life, waited patiently.

It was an hour since he had eaten his soup, the sun still rising, before his light nap was disturbed by the sounds of shuffling feet and many pendants jingling around.

“Sorry mate--”
“You’re late. Your lucky you don’t get the usual treatment, you’d be soiling this ground with your piss and blood.”

He was left speechless as Sin stood; today he seemed strangely professional, calmed, content at what he was going to face.

“Uh… right, um this.. This is the place… right there.”

He pointed to the only tree in the middle of the desert-like plains, wilted and tried, grotesquely shaped as if showing it was in pain.

“Did ya bring what I asked?”
“Um… bout that mate… we had… difficulties…”

Sin’s eyes flashed blood red at the man; he didn’t see the blade, didn’t feel it, he didn’t register he had just been killed until he saw his crimson blood, painted on Sin’s blade. His thumb danced over his blade, collecting the blood on his thumb before he licked it. He spat a second later, muttering how it was impure.

He growled, irritated at having to wait for the girl to finally get here, when she did, she was still in her night gown. That, distracted him, but he bit his tongue, just as soon as the devil showed up. It was perfect. He hid his presence perfectly and watched as the darkness built upward…. Sin looked up at the 20 ft shadow being, white eyes looking down at them as thousands of tendrils slinked out of its shape, its body becoming something that resembled the black cloaked Death, without the scythe.

It howled as tendrils shot out for the virgin girl, wanting to taste her sweet pure blood. It didn’t even pay attention to the other person, Sin passing off as a human. Biggest mistake.

Sin’s grin spread across his face, eerily big as he licked his lips, his tongue playfully dancing across the rows of his sharpened teeth. The tendrils didn’t even make it past the cup of ramen, before it was furiously minced into nothing but piles of meat at Sins feet, two bloodied katana in his hand. Black blood spotted his right cheek as his tongue slipped passed his lips, sliding up the blackened blade of one katana.

“Mmm. Heh heh, you remind me of this little girl in hell who was condemned for murdering her sister for sleeping with her boyfriend… her blood was as tasty as yours.”

The devil looked confused at him, wondering what he meant by his next words.

“I haven’t had a good meal in centuries, be thankful for having the honour of being devoured by me…”

Sin shot off, the tendrils meeting him as he jumped, ducked, and flipped over the oncoming projectiles. He cut when necessary, taking a piece of it into his mouth and devouring it whole. He didn’t even chew, he didn’t need to. Sin jumped up, stabbing a katana to pin one tendril down, throwing the other into another one. Two more katana came to his hands as another two floated near by, slicing through the ones he couldn’t yet get to. All the while, he slowly made his way to the base of the devil. He was lucky this thing was just big and not powerful, otherwise he wouldn’t be getting a meal today.

But of course, Sin got carried away and judged too early; a burst of spikes shot out of its body, Sin had to jump back and slash the projectiles just to get away. It was stronger than he thought as the tendrils split apart, each splitting to five as each had little teeth to rip into his flesh. He wouldn’t let it though. But everything he cut, grew back with another five additions.

It was only minutes before Sin disappeared in a black entanglement of what was part of his opponent. Sin started to growl, throwing one katana into another mouth, but this time he kept to one. He slashed feverishly, his arm a blur. On the outside, the girl watched as what was a heap, exploded into bits of pieces, tiny pieces that were no bigger than her thumb, fall around him. Sin, covered in blood, licked his lips, a wolfish grin upon his face as he walked to his scabbard, momentarily ignoring the devil. It howled, but Sin slid the last two of his katana into the scabbard. He grabbed the strap and lifted it up, the opening angled toward the devil as Sin’s grin never seemed to falter, his eyes wild as he finally spoke.

“Let the tempest… Begin.”

Sin walked away, carrying a chest of money and jewels on his shoulder, his scabbard securely tied to his back as he walked away. He had already devoured the devil’s soul gem; it was rather delicious and satisfying, he could feel his own power slowly growing.

“Shoulda killed that girl, she’d taste good… that scent of hers was just… heh, I’d have to remember to come back for a bite.”

Yosi continued to run, but suddenly more sirens, more sounds of movement appeared in front of him. Gritting his teeth, he cut right. His lungs were fire. In retrospect he should have spent more time staying in shape, but never in his life had the thought of devils being real, nor him being caught up in a conflict involving them, ever crossed his mind. Leaning against a lamp post he looked up, pulling burning air into his lungs... and noticed the cathedral... again. He cursed too himself. All that effort... and he had managed to make circle.

There was a gun shot and Yosi dove into the shadows opening his book to the location index. The blood-text twisted across the page into the arcane letters and he read the information. It seemed he had stumbled into the middle of a fight between Fyodir and two devil soldiers, Immanuel and Rikard. He hung close to the shadows and prayed he was not seen.

Thats when he heard the voice from behind, he turned and looked at the name etched their: Teku. He stood, backing up not sure what to do. He decided to play it calm... this person might be a devil, but that didn't necessarily mean they had any particular interest in him. "What do you want?" He whispered, trying to avoid attracting attention to the two of them.

Fyodir ran down to first floor and to the alleys to see what looked like two civilians, one carrying a book...He said to the two,

"Hey, get in the building and stay behind cover until I give you the okay that it's safe. There's three more I have to take down. Hurry...I'll cover you."

Fyodir ran back to another fruit stand and eliminated another German...that made three. Only two remained and popped out to start firing Kar98 rounds back at him.

He tucked himself into the safest corner he could find, behind a chest that smell of too much varnish and too little dusting. He held the Goetia close and prayed that dawn would come to see him still within his earthly vessel.

He wanted to know what was happening outside, the sounds of battle and death made his fearful mind curious for truth, but their was only precious little light from the street and he could not make out the blood-letters of the Ars Goetia.

Seeing one of the remaining two soldiers fall out of a window, Fyodir thought to himself again.

Not bad, kid. The last one is mine though...

Seeing the man with the book run into a building, Fyodir followed while being fired at. He took cover behind a bar and noticed the German firing from a window across from him. Looking at the man while behind cover, Fyodir said,

"Don't worry. There is one more left. This is a personal matter between me and the enemy. He will die though as my comrades will guide this bullet into his skull."

Fyodir got up and fired at the German...The bullet sped toward it's skull and popped a hole through it to get lodged in the brain. When the soldier felt that, as he collapsed, his finger pulled the trigger down, firing a stream of bullets into the ceiling upon falling back. When the firing ceased, Fyodir said,

"You alright, young sir? Is the book alright?"

"Maybe in another hundred years." He said slowly, judging her without even saying anything. "But your not worth my effort right now." He stepped closer. I died when my tank crew and the entire 11th tank column retook Red Square from those Fascists. My entire tank column fell as well from Stuka bombers and artillery fire. She stood behind Fyodir "i prefer to remain hidden until i am sure i can trust you" she quitly moved so she stood behind Yosi "i am wanted by the devils not for a crime but for my powers" she moved behind teku "hiding is the only thing i can really". Efra knew that for a demon she was probely pretty pathetic but it was how she was.

Danny stepped out of an alley onto the streets, looking both ways. Mostly empty and unassuming... except for this one guy(Jace). Whether it was posture and stance or some deeper premonition, Danny was unnerved by him. He stared like a deer stares at the wolf, and did what he always did when he felt this unnerved.

He cloaked himself and put up an illusion of himself. He slowly started to inch away, while the illusionary him stared for a few more moments into the impolite range of time before quickly walking away, quivering slightly and looking down, cowed, afraid. He wanted to illusion to draw the guy's attention, if he was looking for a fight. And it was a good illusion. Moved and looked real. He remembered to make footsteps sound when the illusion stepped(suprising how easy it was to forget that sometimes- and how easy it made a trick to spot). And as the real Danny backed up, he tried to still his breathing, take whisper-soft steps, and silently prayed that his heart wouldn't pound too loud.

"Whatever seems like a German has taken the form of it, I will kill it...Demon or devil...it does not matter which. If there's a demon or devil soldier, I will make it my mission to kill it as it is personal. Since I cannot see you, I will speak to you alone later on, if you like. Perhaps we can converse over some food."

Fyodir was trying to be reasonable at this point as answers were necessary for him to realize everything.

Jace's eyes scanned the area like a hunter stalking his prey. He made no attempt to hide his presense and the limited power that leaked from him betrayed nothing of what he could do. The other devil seemed to have skulked off. If she could control her thoughts and he breath she could become a powerful spy. For the time being she was merely average to him. But then he had seen much in his life so it was a higher compliment then any other.

Jace watched as a devil hesitated at the sight of him. Slowly the demon began to move away. Jace stared at the coward for a few moments to weigh up if he was worth fighting. He wasn't and Jace went to look away. However something was wrong as he moved on. Jace knew what was bothering him before he summoned the throwing dagger to his hand. The mass of that person was compeltely wrong. It took mere moments for the dagger to be thrown and fly through the illusion, digging hard into the wall behind.
"Be proud illusionist." Jace spoke to the area around him, he didn't know where the illusionist was right now, "You fooled even old me for a while. Practice and then challenge me again."

Jace stepped out into the street fully and waited patiently for the return of that little devil or the approach of a worthy enemy.

Yosi listened to Fyodir perplexed, so humans could be resurrected as devils? That was interesting and disturbing, but he remained silent, until he found Teku's explanation too abominably unsatisfactory an explanation to give to devil that clearly had nationalist and homicidal leanings. "Sir, The CCCP no longer exists. Russia's communist government fell and has long since been replaced. Also, you cannot avenge yourself on soldiers. There is no morality in that. If you do not fault yourself for killing german soldiers as a soldier of Russia, how can you fault them, for fighting for their own nation their own families.Vengence accomplishes nothing and cannot be made a universal law. Remember, act such that the maxim of your action can be willed as universal law.

"Both your comrades and your opponents sinned in the act of fighting. You acted with maxims that could not be made universal. You were heteronomous and enslaved by mere circumstance. From such things no moral imperative can arise."

"My government was wiped out...Hitler was eliminated...Stalingrad is still Russia's city. Young man, I had no choice but to fight. They took my family and my home. I took their lives in exchange. They took mine and the lives of the entire tank column. As ignorant as it sounds, I will still kill every demon and devil soldier. What is this time period and what are all these new machines?"

"Circumstance, circumstance! 'They took this from me! My city, My family ME ME ME! Do you listen to yourself? The world isn'tabout you! People aren't mere means! Each person is an end in themselves,EACH person, not just you. Everytime you kill someone you are cutting an end...you are creating a world without morality. Because all you care about is how you feel. And thats it."

It isn't because you careabout your comrades or your city... its because you feel bad that they died. It because revenge will make you feel good. Revenge doesn't save your city... it doesn't help your family come back to life! All it does is hurt others for your own selfish ends." Yosi sighed, " I cannot lie, but I can refuse to tell you. So if you want to know about this world ask that person." he pointed to Teku. "Otherwise I will not aid in murder! I will not aid an individual who does not treat people as human."

I have never been suited by it. People are people, they make mistakes, Russia has, Germany has, Even Italy has." He sighed again." Nothing can bring your family back, Nothing can bring your friends back. The best you can do, is keep them in your heart." He looked around to see the little devil hidden, but nothing."Now look,Little Devil." He waved his hands around the room as he could not see where the devil was."If you feel afraid then don't we wont hurt you out here." He Looked at Yosi." Fyodir looked at this other man and said...

"Hold on a moment. Murder, you say? The art of killing can be defined in so many ways and called by many names. Murder, slaying, massacre, bloodbath, extermination, liquidation...it does not matter what you call it. Individuals either devil, human, demon, or hybrid of any of the listed...they all kill for some personal reason but in the end, they also kill to survive just like wild animals going after prey. I will not lead a pacifist into killing someone. It is up to them whether they wish to live or die. I will however protect them as I have protected you. This may not be the time of the war but I can still remember my take in it to all ends. Those were soldiers that were going for you. As a soldier who was on the victorious side of the war, I have officially decided to protect those who don't deserve harm. You did nothing wrong to them and yet they tried to shoot you."

Fyodir refused to show disgust by this young man's words. Instead he sat in a chair, setting his rifle against the wall and continued.

"I treated you like a human, did I not? I kept your life safe by being a leader. You don't have to thank me for saving you as protection of civilians is a soldier's job unless the soldiers are intent on killing everyone in the country. Besides, I respect people who read often. It shows that they would rather help people by not putting their life on the line. So, it's good that you chose to take cover behind something like I wanted you to. Now you can continue your purpose in life and I can continue mine...as a soldier and protector of the people...not as a hell-bent, devil-killing murderer."

Fyodir took out his knife and stuck it into an end table. He took out a cigarette and continued upon lighting and taking a puff.

"Whether you realize it or not, you kill as well. You don't kill in the means that I kill. I take lives with a gun and knife. Everything in creation has a flaw. Air, intent, time...even emotion. As a result, that which has been made can be unmade. That which was given life can have its life taken away. That which was constructed can be destroyed. You kill also yet part of me believes that you have yet to see that. It will come in time because as we sit here talking we are killing time. We can all easily be deemed as murderers. You, me, and whoever else is here at this very moment."

It wasn't the most proud, most ambitious, or most courageous thing he'd done, but Danny turned tail and hurried away. The illusion had done it's job and bought him enough time to get away. He almost turned around to give the Devil a peice of his mind when he heard the taunts. Almost. His mind raced with the tricks he could pull... but he didn't do any of them.

He kept his eyes down and stormed off, feeling even lower than usual. He sunk down further into his jacket, eyes on the pavement, only using the shadows of buildings to not navigate, moving faster and faster as he got more and more agitated, still too focused on-

And then he ran into some poor girl. Well, "run into" is a relative term. He ran into her, got turned around, and fell on his rear. He groaned and sat up, catching sight of a few dolls(dolls?), but not exactly looking at her. "I'm really sorry..." He started, and trailed off.

"Then let them shoot me!" Yosi retaliated, "You cannot defend killing by making it a simple fact, thats a posteroiri. Just because everyone behaves immorally doesn't change the immoral nature of something. If all the world was blue, blue would still exist. If they shoot me, the sin is on them.If you kill them the sin is on you! You sin because you failed to live up to your duty. You let your duty as a human being fall beneath the petty heteronomous duty of a soldier. There is no reason to kill. Anytime you use circumstance, be it something so broad as the mortal condition or specific like personal preference, you are depending upon heteronomy. you move away from something rationally justifiable into something completely dependent of causes and effects, something which lacks wide spread meaning."

Yosi sighed " ...Wait... if I'm just as much a killer as you say... than why did you kill them instead of me? We are all killers than why choose one person over another? But that doesn't fallow because being a murderer doesn't justify beingkilled! If I saw a person brutally murdered in front of me I would not kill the murder because the maxim of my action is still killing and killing is not an act that can be universalized! If circumstance doesn't matter, and we all kill, than stop using circumstance to justify your acts! Either accept rationality, or completely deny it. Don't use rationality to suit your purposes one moment, than deny it when it turns against you."

Scoffing a bit Yosi turned to the other person, Teku, "Its a book I found" he responded, "I'm using it to uncover some truths."

Myurn noticed the sirens and gun shots but was to late arriving to see anything. When she landed on top of a building she saw a boy walking in one direction and a man throwing a dagger into another direction. She took a long look at them both. That boy won't be any use to me but I know that man from somewhere. She looked very hard and noticed the eyes on his chest. "Erebus?! I thought he was dead, I guess that seal wasn't couldn't get him killed. He shows a reason for me to become a thanatos class Devil." She said looking at him as he stood. "Circumstance also has a flaw and can therefore be destroyed. I chose not to kill you because you have done nothing to prove you are an enemy of mine. In addition, you don't seem like the type to really commit physical harm so it would be a waste of energy and possibly bullets killing you."

Fyodir took a puff of his cigarette, looked out the window and continued...

"If you're going to continue to get snippy with me, then the next time more soldiers come around like that, I might just pay no mind to you while killing them. If they kill you, it won't be my problem because you decided to quarrel with me. You should be grateful you're still living. You should also be grateful they didn't try to take the book or even damage it. I helped you because you are potentially harmless. It was my obligation to either kill them or let the two of us die. I'm not about to die twice. I want to help out even if it means sinning through the means of killing. Sometimes, you just have to throw morality out the window, pick up a gun and down a few devils to save another being. Benevolent actions should make up for sin. Besides, do you honestly want to die without uncovering the possible truths within the book you hold? Do you even want to die period. I'm a devil and yet I kill devils. I do it to survive, even if it is due to me holding a grudge against Germany in the past. There are plenty of things everyone has to learn one way or another. If killing the enemy is one way to learn something, then I'm going to do it while paying to regard to sin. I would rather keep a person safe when they have done nothing to the enemy and yet they are still being targeted than engage the enemy without focusing on any civilians. You and I have differences. That is all too true however, we both have truth to discover. Even this man you call Teku has some truth to discover. I'm not asking you to assist in murder. I just wish to know about the changes that have happened between my death and my rebirth."

Hearing the sirens, he said...

"That other guy is right anyway. That's our wake-up call. We should probably get out of here. You know a safe route so that we remain unseen?"

Yosi rolled his eyes,"So my punishment for being snippy, is that you will do exactly what I want you to do? But in any case, there are no benevalent actions. That implies you are doing things that more than what you ought to do. Which is impossible. Everyone ought to act morally, everyone ought to commit acts of charity... therefore when you save a life, you are merely doing what you should do. There are no brownie points in that... just neutrality. And if you commit a sin, and kill someone in the process the act is purely negative. You can't value one life more than another. Each person, the killed and the killed is an end in themselves. Each is universally valuable. You cannot choose between the two. If you kill one, you are dehumanizing that person, turning them into a mere means for the survival of the other."

Yosi scoffs as he picks up his book, "I don't know how to get out of here. I'm just going to leave... the worse case scenarios is I get caught by the police and get held for the night for questioning. I answer whatever questions they have and then leave. I have committed no crime." He walks towards the door, and steps into the streetlamp-dappled dark of the Venetian streets.

Fyodir started following in the direction that Teku went and yelled,

"Hey, wait up! Don't leave me behind!

He had no time for petty quarrels about morality and such. The man with the book was clearly ignorant of his own life and had never taken the possibility of being in Fyodir's boots. In any case, following Teku was easier as it led him to not having to deal with a bitter annoyance.

But as soon as this new guy walked up, he put all those preparations up again. Illusion copies of himself, even some good audial distractions, ready as soon as his mind went over into panic mode. Yosi sighed unhappily. His handling could have handled that better. He had been more preachy than he had intended, but he could bear ignorance and immorality. Well, at least he hadn't commited a major sin, though he had fulfilled the entirety of his duty. He had let circumstance dull his senses and hadn't universalized his action properly. He should have been more helpful than he had. Well, there was nothing to be done for it. Mistakes had been made but there was always next time. He held the Goetia close, at least books were simple...

His eyes were half lidded and tired, the goetia felt like stone in his arms, fatigue turned his muscles to lava. And above all, he felt alone. All this truth in his hands... all these sirens, and devils, death and fire, but he was alone amidst it all. "At least I have you Goetia" he whispered to book, robbing his fingers across the demon-skin leather. "You will always be there... as long as I can life my fingers to turn your pages."

And the night stretched on.

The sirens had receded into the distance before the fleshless predator began its hunt. Its bale-eye leered from the shadows as it crawled across the walls of buildings in inhuman fashion. Eventually, he spotted a young woman.

She had a doll face, a sweet scent. Her hair was black, barely visible against the night. Pale stretched her skin, and her eyes bore the shimmer of sentience. She was framed the moonlight like a goddess. A smile spread across her lips as she thought about something as she walked home. Her boyfriend would be coming home from his travels, he had been gone for nearly two weeks and she had missed him. He would cook dinner, probably his famous marinaded beef with tomatoes. They would watch a movie an then... her grin floated as her mind delved into her imaginings.

Thought upon thought crossed her mind. Dream upon dream, desire upon desire, want upon want.

And then... silence.

The bag-man dropped the body, a shrivaled husk of dried out skin and bones. Her future had been removed from her body; her dreams, her feelings, her soul, all taken by the bale-lit hunger of empty eye sockets. For a brief moment, her boy friends face appeared in the balefire, a brief monument to her existence... and then it vanished.

Location: New York City, USA

A hell gate opened in the busy street of New York city, Sin walking out with a few marionette bodies hanging onto his scabbard, or at least their arms were, the rest of them was trailing behind him. He paused, turning to watch a half-dead marionette dragging itself toward him. All he had to do was narrow his eyes, watching it pause, go rigid, and blood burst through its skin. He grinned in satisfaction, licking some blood off his lips that managed to get on him.

He didn’t care bystanders saw, frankly, he loved the fear filled eyes on him, cowering away as he walked by. But it soon go boring as he blended into the crowd. Purgatory was more fun, he had actually made a blood bath on his way from Australia to New York. He wanted to do it again… in this city, he wanted to make it his palace, his own hell. He wanted to make a throne out of the bodies of the innocent, and make a foot rest out of their skulls. He wanted to make furniture out of their bones in his palace he would build out of the bodies of the old and the children.

His pupils dilated as his eyes glowed a dark red, the pupil disappearing. He could feel the human hearts pumping blood throughout their body, see it travel fast through their veins. So many sweet scents hit his nose, the taste gingerly danced on his tongue… he wanted to kill… to eat… to devour them all…. He stopped in the middle of the road, hair falling over his thirsty eyes, the rows of sharp teeth showing in a sadistic grin… the first of his victims.

A little boy came up to him, holding a stack of newspapers under an arm, holding one out he asked if Sin would like a copy. Sin’s eyes looked at the child, seeing no murder, nothing to taint his soul… perfect.

“Die, little one, die and let your soul gem be consumed by me…”

With no more than a word, several spikes shot out of Sin’s body, piercing the little boy’s body multiple times, all the spikes were hardened blood… from Sin himself. The spikes drew back into his veins, opening a hand, he drained the boy dry, a sphere of blood hovering in his hand. He let go of it, pooling it into his hand as it covered his entire hand, half way up his forearm. Using the blood, he made his hands into razor sharp claws… claws that can cut through any surface. Screams were what came next, gurgled screams, screams that ended half way through, others caught in the throat, most couldn’t even have time to scream. But still, it was a beautiful sound.

Numerous blood spheres circled around himself, exploding into spikes to impale humans, as more blood spheres joined after each killings. He laughed, it was a deep throaty laugh, as if he were half beast and half man… that was the only way a person had to be, to enjoy this much bloodshed. Bodies followed behind him, wherever he walked. When they ran, a needle of blood pierced their hearts. If they fought, his claws would bury themselves into their flesh and tear them apart. Then the police came, the swat, and whatever militia force that was around. None of them were hunters. They all died the same. Sin had thinned out each sphere, crafted them into needles, and pierced each body a thousand times. This time, he let all the blood he controlled, go, running a river of blood down to the sewage drains. This would be enough to keep himself from losing to his instincts… he might get into trouble with hunters once they find out, but its nothing he can’t deal with. For now, he remained walking the street calmly, returning to purgatory

Daniel startd to follow the others, saying nothing and staying to the back, not verbally offering anything. The whole situation felt typical. Stuck behind more confident people. Going along with people who didn't really care about him, because it was still better than being alone.

He didn't say anything in reply, but when the Russian mentioned his clothes, Danny gave a small wave in his direction, clothing him in an illusion of more common street clothes. He had to keep an eye on Fyodir to make sure the clothes moved right, but they moved well enough to pass for real. The more he got used to Fyodir's pace, the less he had to concentrate on it. She was a bit surprised that these individuals seemed to not mind as to who she was, most others seemed to flee in terror, or cautiously approach her for guidance. But not these people. Was it bravery or stupidity? Regardless, it didnt matter to her at that moment. It was just nice to be around new faces and idly chit-chat with them.

A billion whispers, twisting upon themselves until like the many strands of a rope they are one. Countless threads. But a rope is just a tool...an object. Life is but a passing state, a condition, an object. But the will... it is the needle. it threads the life and weaves the life into the tapestry formed by the lives that have come before and the lives still to come.

But a knot continues to grow upon the tapestry, a mass of miss weaved threads. A ball of futures... that may one day ask the question "Where is my needle?", and in so doing grants itself the object of its question.

Yosi closed the book with a sigh... how mystically uninformative that passage had been. He looked up on the moon and continued on into the night... where to next? He had no idea. Part of him wanted to toss this book into the catacomb he had found it in...another part couldn't bear the thought.

He was surprised at Dawns reaction, He was used to girls kicking him or slapping him for putting his arm around them. He looked back to see the boy sitting there in fear." Hey Kid, Calm down a bit. We wont hurt you. I just want you guys at my place for the night. We don't want you two to get caught up in whatever happened in the cathedral back there. So Lighten up a bit." He removed his arm around dawn then slowed down a bit to the kids pace." Come on Kid talk up a bit. What's your name?" Teku face was light with his usually faces some funny some just plan weird. but this face was just unknown to him. He was calm, Not over ran with joy or the heat of the moment just calm, No racing thoughts nothing.

As Xin walked toward his hotel room, he saw a disturbing sight. He saw a demon draining a man of his life force. After the demon finished, he saw a soul gem appear from the man's corpse.
" So that is a soul gem." Xin said watching in disgust.
The demon saw him and screeched when it felt that Xin was a half devil.
It rushed Xin with its huge claws smashing him through a wall of a building. Xin got up from the attack covered in bone, to protect himself from the impact, and created a bone scimitar.
" You want to play ugly?" Xin said with a sarcastic smile, " Then let's play."
The demon screeched and slashed at Xin while he deflected the attacks trying to counter. He managed to cut it but it was not deep enough to put it down for good. The demon came again but Xin created a bone spear that pierced its heart. The demon faded leaving the soul gem he had devoured. Xin walked away but felt it calling to him like it was his. He couldn't fight his demonic nature and before he knew it he devoured the gem. He felt stronger but he felt bad at the same time. The gem belonged to a man who didn't have to die. With a heavy heart, he went to his hotel room and went to sleep.

Noticing everything was fine for now, Fyodir relaxed for a bit and wanted to ask Teku and Danny a question.

"Pardon me for interrupting but, what kind of technology came out since I died? Any new weapons? Maybe new forms of transport?"

Fyodir was really curious as he has seen nothing of the current day. Maybe he had found some friends to show him around. It would prove useful to gain some information but how was he going to gain enough money to buy stuff? He would need a job.

Fyodir continued following Teku after hearing the information provided. Upon hearing stronger, faster guns, he asked...

"What do you mean by "stronger" and "faster" guns? Surely, nothing pleases me more than my rifle. It may only hold 5-round strip clips but five rounds are more than enough to kill anything that moves...aside from panzers and planes."

New guns intrigued Fyodir considering he was a soldier of old.

Location:Rome
Time:The sun hasn't come up yet still dammit. It's pretty early though. It's two days later.
Weather:Foggy. Because when cold air meets hot air, thats what happens.

Riding down the streets of Rome, though empty life began to come out as people were seen walking the streets. The fog that was hanging around wasn't thick. More then anything it was just like a really thing blanket covering the town. Vasil came here to look for some information. Though information he didn't know where to get, or know anything about it. All he knew was the name Astrea, and her apparent guardian Garl Vinalnd. He knew the name Vinland, mainly because it was his own last name. And including the fact that Garl Vinland was an ancestor of his that gave his life to help create the Hellgates. Which bring two questions to mind. One being how is he even still alive? And second, even if he was still alive. Why would he help a devil?

Course to Vasil, this was just another way to just beat up something that's been almost haunting him since his childhood. Look around, he reached into a bag on the side of the scooter and pulled out a little black note book and opened it. Inside was a list of addresses and such. First things first. He gets paid for the job he just did, then ask the man if theres any good informants in the town. As he came to a light intersection, not noticing how the light was red and almost hit someone in front of him. Looking up, he noticed the light was red. "H-hey, sorry about that. Least none of us are hurt. Right?"

Danny didn't have anything to add to the gun conversation. He'd fired a gun once, and it nearly flew out of his hands. Didn't hit the target either. Try as he might, he couldn't really use any weapons effectively, or buff up enough to fight hand-to-hand. Just more of his failing.

He sighed as he followed Teku inside and sat down in a chair by the door, huddling down in his coat, still nervous about following three complete strangers(well, two strangers and one girl he ran over) to God-knows-where in Venice.

Dawn remained quiet as she sat down. She really had no interest in food or eating, tea was enough for her. She figured it be best to speak up before something was made that she didnt want.

"Nothing for me, please."

She rested Victoria in the seat next to her. For a while she sat there and didnt move, but after a while she disappeared to explore. Dawn didnt notice her move, usually because she does no real harm and can be left unsupervised...though more often than not she manages to frighten a good deal of people when doing so. However, these people seemed to be used to the bizarre...at least most of them did.

"Relax, friend. Men of the Red Army aren't as fierce as when they are in battle. Cooking is a form of art in Russia. There is no fighting involved when cooking. Tonight I am going to make a very nice soup. What will you be making for the main course?"

Fyodir smiled as he took from the fridge, some shredded cabbage, potatoes, barley, carrots and an onion. He then went to the spice cabinet to take some dill out of the rack and get some salt.

"Okay, let's get started."

Fyodir looked around for a large pot, took one out and filled it a good amount with water. He then put the barley in and let it sit on medium heat to start. Once the barley was half done, Fyodir put in the cabbage and cubed potatoes and let that sit for for a few while taking out a pan, some vegetable oil and a fresh knife and grater. Setting a second burner on low heat, while it was warming up, Fyodir poured some oil into the pan and grated the carrots. He then grated the onions and fried the two vegetables in the oil while the soup was cooking altogether. After frying the onion and carrots, they were added to the soup and cooked on low heat for 15 minutes. Fyodir put the pan in the sink and sat down in the dining room, to reminisce of the days of old...The feel of battle, the seemingly never-ending adrenaline rush...Then, a feeling was against his leg. He got a little startled but looked down to see Victoria pulling on the pant leg.

"What's wrong? You want to sit? Alright then...I'll pick you up, okay?"

Fyodir reached down a picked up Victoria cautiously to set her on his lap. She was a beautiful doll with beautiful hair. Dawn must be very lucky to have such a doll.

"Hey Dawn, I think Victoria likes me. She's sitting on my lap."

Nasaca perused through the gigantic gates into the Red Square. It was getting late, and most of the square's visitors were headed back home.

She continued on, her hands tucked into her pockets, to the Red Square Church.

Inside lay a man, sprawled out on the altar, crying and muttering prayers in Russian. Nasaca approached cautiously and quietly sat down in a nearby pew. She clasped her hands together and bowed her head.

A few minutes later, the crying stopped and the man fell silent. Nasaca peeked up from her hands to see him twitching on the ground. She drew a nearby shadow up to her arm; it was still light so she couldn't fully manipulate it. The man stumbled up awkwardly, a dead look in his eyes. Nasaca now stood directly across from him, the shadow taking the rough form of a blade on her arm.
"Your suffering will end soon brother."

The crimson haired girl walked down the empty streets of Rome, her path dimly lit by the weak street lights. Her long hair trailed behind her, and her golden irises almost seemed to glow in the dark. She stopped at the traffic light and waited for the bulb to shine red, indicating that she could cross without the chance of being hit by some idiot who can't drive.

When she saw the crimson light, she slowly walked onto the cobblestone street, only to be nearly hit by some idiot who can't drive. Melanie cursed loudly before jumping out of the way. The idiot looked up oblivious to the fast that he almost ran over her, before staring at the blatantly red light.

He gave Melanie the once over before chuckling sheepishly.

"H-hey, sorry about that. Least none of us are hurt. Right?"

"Do you not see the red light?" She hissed, almost like a cat in water. This was not her day. She reeked of devil, was tired, cold, and she definitely did not want to hang around playing with some color blind idiot who can't drive. He wasn't even driving a car, for God's sake!

"I think you should go back to driver's school, if you were ever there in the first place."

Melanie shot him a final glare and turned her back, her cloak swishing dramatically in the air before running down the sidewalk and disappearing into the darkness.

On the sands of the beach, Vincent stared out into the vast ocean and into the horizon as he can feel the cool breeze of wind. He thought about his father and mother, how he got lucky when he was young, and how much he was taught when he was very young. He wondered what would've happened if his father never met his mother in the first place. He took one last look at the horizon and then the sky. He then began to walk along the beach looking down and watching every step he took and then he looked back up and walked off the beach and back onto concrete which led him back into town. He decided to take a step into the ally and make a shortcut.

Half-way through, he suddenly came across a gang as they stepped in his way. Another came from behind him surrounding him so he couldn't escape. They had typical weapons. Pistols, baseball bats, and knifes. Didn't see much of a threat to him.

"I see you guys have a thing of killing people and taking their stuff."

The gang members laughed in disbelief thinking that he's bluffing. Vincent gripped his Shining Dragon and pulled it out. As it came out, light burst into the ally as he felt the scales of the sword.

"Don't get in my way..."

The man rushed Nasaca before she had a chance to react. The weak shadow-blades on her arms faltered as she felt a pocket of air rush out of her stomach. Her back hit the floor, jolting her back to her senses in time to see that the possessed man had his teeth plowed into her upper arm. She reached out to one of the pews, absorbing it's shadow and wrapping it around the man's head, which caused him only to bite harder. Not a very smart demon... Nasaca winced and clapped her hands on either sides of the man's head, causing 2 spikes to penetrate through her victim's skull.

Once she felt his body go limp, she rolled him off her and looked at where she had been bitten. "Nasty little beast..." She mumbled as it bled onto her jacket. She walked back out of the building, holding her arm. She'd get it wrapped up later. Though she couldn't help but feel she had forgotten something.

Back inside the church, it was quiet again. The man's body had disappeared, his bloody foot prints led out the door.

The gang charged at Vincent without even knowing what just happened. Vincent began his defense by swinging his sword at the first enemy. He saw blood whip out of the enemy and onto the wall as the first enemy dropped. He then turned and cut down the members behind him and dropped to the ground. He made his final turn and sliced the last of the gang members.

As Vincent stood before the gang, he could hear the moaning of the downed gang members, or at least what is left of them. He said something that he once heard from his mother when she was attacked by a gang.

"You guys should know when to run and when to stand and fight."

He liked that saying. He smiled as he walked out of the ally and back onto the streets. So much for a day without having a fight.

"....Okay. Other then that being weird, and also very rude." Taking a right he pulled out a piece of paper with an address written on it. Looking at the houses he tried finding the number of the house he was looking for. "I should've learnt other languages before I became a Devil Hunter. It would have been really useful."

Coming up to what appeared to be an alleyway with a dim light lighting it and a staircase going down. He could see the sun begin to slowly rise up as he got off his scooter, grabbed the keys and set the alarm. Walking down the stairs, he came to a very bouncer-isque door. Little slot for where only the eyes cane be seen included. When it opened, the man spoke something in italian. Not knowing any italian, at all, Vasil left it up to luck and showed them the paper. The man closed the latch and the sound of locks being unlocked were heard. The door opened and Vasil walked in.

The first thing he saw was the man at the door, who was apparently slightly larger then Vasil. Though looked as though he could break a cement cinder block with his hand. ontinue walking in, Vasil could smell the smell of some smoke and ended up entering what appeared to be a bar. Though the only person smoking was in a very conveniently placed 'smokers area' that happened to be well ventilated. "...Weird thing after another."

Sitting down at the bar, a man who appeared to be in his sixties walked up to Vasil with a shot glass, put in an ice cube and poured in what was apparently Vodka. "Two things. Firstly being, who are you. Secondly, why are you already pouring me something to drink?"

"Well I am Edward. Your the Devil Hunter of the group Longinus Vasil, correct? Shouldn't you have hard of me?"

"Oh yeah. The guy who I've heard has an army of clones all over the world."

"...No." Placing the bottle of Vodka behind him he turned back to Vasil. "It appears you have something of yours a contractor wanted."

"Ah. Yeah, the chief of police down by Venice. He asked me for help since I was in the vicinity, and he apparently had no one else to turn to."

"Did you do the job?" Vasil placed the Soul Gem on the bar and the man, who went by Edward, picked it up and looked at it. "A very nice soul gem. Well, the money should be added to your account by next morning."

"Thanks. Speaking of which, I've never heard about this place. What is it exactly?"

"A place for Devil Hunters to gather, talk, give each other advice." The two stopped for a second before a burst of laughter from everyone filled the bar. Everyone stopped and returned to what they were doing. "All jokes aside. This is a place for Devil Hunters to turn in jobs, drink something then go off to another job."

"And I presume you have a list of these jobs?" Vasil said picking up the shot glass of Vodka. "If so, are there any available?"

Edward smiled. "Why yes there is actually. Several to be exact. The easiest being a bodyguard of a woman by the name of Morrigan Riviera for a social gathering of hers."

"Sounds simple enough. Though why devil hunters?"

"Apparently she is on the side of the super natural and what not. She's hired one other, but she wants to hire some more. If you wait here for a bit, you can get some people to come with you."

"Sounds good." Vasil sat there drinking a bit of the Vodka before coughing a bit. "Never liked that taste. Also, you sure you aren't a clone?"

"Well you can never be too sure about that, can you?" That one sentence ending this conversation. And that one sentence will most likely haunt Vasil's sleep for a while.

(( If I understood then the time should be this >.< ))

Location: Rome, Italy
Time: Almost morning.

Sin had been isolating himself in purgatory, finding a spot where none would have bothered him. There, he did something he normally wouldn’t do; think about how far gone he was to the madness. He wasn’t complaining, he loved the insanity, but just then it had actually taken over his own mind. Even before, he was still able to have his own piece of mind. But in New York, he lost control like no other. So he decided to get a drink; he would go to Italy, since well that’s possibly the only country he wasn’t wanted dead in… yet.

He had walked out of the hell gate, ignoring the looks once more, walking down the street, he followed the mental map. He knew mostly where all the devil hunter bars were in the world, well not really, he just knew of two or three in the world. Italy’s was one of those. Sin walked through the streets, finding the alleyway and walked down the steps. He waited at the door, the slot opened and all he had to do was pull his hood down. He wasn’t someone anyone could really forget. The man’s eyes widened slightly, though he was professional enough to be able to not be consumed by totally surprise. He remembered what happened when eh refused to let him in the first time, when he had insisted that he was a Devil Hunter and simply lost the paper with the directions. He didn’t have any pockets at that time, or any clothes really; he had killed a fellow Fallen who was particularly skilled with flames. The man ended up burning Sin’s clothes.

The door opened and Sin walked in, cursing all the way to the bar, some watched him, a little edgy at what he might do. He actually just wanted a drink and was actually thinking of doing a job professionally, for once not wanting to act on his own and find the jobs. He sat at the bar, ignoring the man beside him, placing his giant scabbard, Tempest, between him and the man. There was already a beer placed in front of him. Sin didn’t like the other drinks, he only wanted the one true alcohol; Beer.

“Any jobs?”

A man awaited in the shadows, following what had happened in the church, restraining himself from entering the church to help out the Devil Hunter. He continued to wait, straightening up once he saw her exit. Dehvi straightened out the white dress shirt he wore, brushing off the dirt on his black jeans; tight fitted onto his legs. He had a pair of glasses upon his nose, taking it off to clean the lenses, and placing them atop his nose once more. Finally, he began to walk, following the girl quietly. He was willing enough to help her, if she wanted it, Yes, he was a peculiar devil, and he didn’t care. He refused to become a devil hunter, and refused to kill the humans. He refused to be any part of this actually, and it worked, living as a human. But sometimes he couldn’t stand watching people get hurt. So he would do what he was doing now, ask if the injured wanted help, and he’d bandage them up. He picked up the pace, catching up in a few quick strides. Upon tapping her shoulder, he spoke,

“Ah, uh, miss? Would you like me to take care of that for you?” He was referring to her bitten arm.

"Are you alright? Y'know, since you're a half devil you should have sensed me."

It was just one after the other, wasn't it. For some odd reason everyone was out to get her today. Ambushing her in the dark alleyway, running into her with a scooter, magically appearing out of nowhere and crashing into her. For the love of-

"I give you 5 seconds to get the hell out of my way before I blow your head to smithereens." Melanie scowled and cocked Hades at the devil's head. Killing this devil wasn't her job, and she wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone right now. It was at the very least a Devil, yet not strong enough to be a fallen or a forgotten. She could deal with it with ease, if she chose to.

"Well? I'm a B ranked Devil Hunter FYI. I could take down a Devil like you in a mere millisecond, should I feel like it. I'll start counting now. Leave before the final second is up, or we can battle it out right here."

Melanie wrapped her index finger around the trigger, her other hand creeping to Nirvana. She narrowed her eyes and bared her teeth, her hair almost seemed like it was standing on end. Similar to a hissing cat, she twisted her wrist so that Hades was pointed at the devil's temple.

The bar she had in mind was running over with hunters but that was the reason she picked it, it was the only place the devils did not follow her. she slipped inside and walked carefully making sure she did not bump into anyone. her destination was the cellar, she slipped by a female with two large swords but a fat hunter turned around and his axe handle hit her back causing her to stumble and fall against a hunter (sin). She dropped her camouflage for a second before quickly blending back and taking a few steps back.

"Two."

"Look princess, unlike you I am not the battle type okay?" The devil said with a bored drawl. Freaking devil, acting all high and mighty, what the hell did it want from her? All Melanie wanted to do was go home, take a nice, long shower, and go to sleep.

But no, lower-than-low-devil wanted to do something flashy before his inevitable death. But no, Mr.Color-blind-idiot-who-can't-drive wanted to whiz around on his scooter while reading a book. But no, Ms.Freaking-Devil wanted to step out of freaking nowhere.

"Three."

"I am just looking for a place to sleep, fighting isn't my thing." the devil continued, oblivious to the gradually increasing murderous rage Melanie was emitting. In a split second, the devil disappeared. Melanie could still sense her aura, but could no longer see her anywhere. What was her ability? She lowered Hades, still on the alert.

"And if your smart, you keep that temper of yours under control, I have seen enough hunters like you and they did not live very long."

Melanie clenched her fist, hatred and annoyance now clearly visible in her eyes. Freaking devil, thinks it can just go around telling hunters what they should and should not do. She should have just blasted that devil's head to pieces when she had the chance. The aura was getting farther and farther away now, and Melanie had no intention of chasing after it. She holstered Hades and continued to walk down the path, imagining how satisfying the hot shower would be when she got back.

"Teku, I must head out, unfortunately...I have business to attend to."

Fyodir stepped out and into a hellgate in an old building.

New location: Rome

Fyodir arrived at the beautiful city of Rome. The smell of food filled the air as Fyodir took to thinking that he might enjoy this place. He needed a job though for both lire and soulstones. He is a devil but he hunts devils. That should grant him passage into a church. Walking into one, he decided to confess his past sins despite being a devil. He never got to when he was living.

"Great holy lord...I am here to finally confess my sins to you. I was unable to before because I had fallen in combat. I have all the time in the world now so please hear me out. Back during my original life, I wasn't exactly the type of person who aced school. I was somewhat troublesome at times and got penalized as a result. I have had thoughts of the flesh and would look at my neighbor as she changed clothes. I believe it was the spice of puberty that got to me at the time. Moving on, as I became an adult, I was hooked on whiskey to the point where I would fight anyone in the bar regardless of whether I won or lost. When I joined the military, that's when I started to really sin. I took so many lives with the help of an entire tank column and reclaimed so much land back from my country's former allies. I was very aggressive in war so that may be why I led my own tank column. As a result of being overzealous, we got annihilated by planes and artillery after taking some of our land back. After I died, when I came to, I blamed you for it. I blamed you for my death and the deaths of my comrades. The one to blame was myself in actuality. You did nothing wrong. My comrades left me with the task of avenging them by killing devils whom they believe have German souls in them. While it is true that I am once again sinning, I am doing it for a greater cause. It is a cause now dedicated to helping man. I ask of you two things, God...Forgive me of my sins...While I will still be killing, it will be to keep people safe. The other thing I ask of you is to guide my bullets into the skulls and hearts of my enemies. That is all I ask...Amen."

Sitting in the pew, he left his rifle beside him and cried for a little bit. He hoped a job would come to him but he was not up to focusing on it right now. He had a family he wanted to see again.

Nasaca jumped and whirled around to punch the stranger but stopped her fist an inch short of his nose. Just a civilian. She exhaled. "What?" She blinked and looked down at her arm. "Oh this. I can do this myself. I've been through worse, but thankyou." She was very polite about it, though in truth she was simply too stubborn to accept help...

A shadow scuddered past the buildings as Nasaca's attention was directed away from the stranger. Her eyes flashed yellow for a moment as she studied the area. Must be the wind.... She turned back to the man. "Uh, I have to get home. Have a nice morning sir!" She smiled sweetly, then turned and began to walk away as a thought ran through her head.

What home?

[keep in mind, the possesed man she fought earlier is not dead... she forgot to rip out it's gem-thing .-. // also, sorry for the poor storytelling. its late =x=]

Vincent walked into another ally temporary to shake the blood off of his Shining Dragon. He then placed his sword back into its holister and left the ally from where he came to continue his walk. He then stopped for a moment to think about his next move.

I should head back home, I need to check on my parents to see what they're doing...

Vincent looked around for any civilians and then closed his eyes as an auora of darkness surrounded him. As he concetrated, his devil wings grew from his back. When they were fully grown, Vincent then opened his eyes and jump from the ground. He then let his wings flap up and down as he flew back home.

Character: Veronica
Location: Beverly Hills, California

As Veronica sat silently on her bed in her room, loading up her weapons for a grooling mission, she took noticed on what was on TV. The news was showing what happened in NYC. She saw innocent people killed brutally. Blood was scattered across the street and onto nearby walls. She wondered who did this and their purpose.

Veronica looked at her clock that was sitting on her night table. It seems that it was time for her mission. She holistered her pistols and her sniper rifle in a very quick motion and stood up from her bed. She then opened the door and left her room, closing it as she made her way out.

Great… a group.

He nodded, eyes half lidded, bored and calm as he listened. He only gave the man who coughed a glance, too lazy to size him up right now. But he had already made his decision for the job. He had accepted it the second the man spoke. Sin would do just about any job, if it meant he got to kill something and get paid ‘generously’. Sin took a sip from his beer, in other words only a gulp of the contents were left, when someone got pushed into him. It made him knock his beer over and spill the rest.

“Eh…?”

He turned around, looking straight ahead, where a body should have been, but then again at the look he was giving everyone, almost everyone took a step back. But his gaze held straight. It was faint to him, but it was definitely there, then there was the scent; it was out of place in this bar. He got up, faked to trip and stumble toward the hiding person and swung an arm out, catching her around the back as he pushed her to the bar.

“Sit down shrimpy, have a drink with us!”

He shouted, grinning like a madman, and of course, slurring his words purposely.

“Damn I’s gots ta drink more often… Ima wee bit tipseh.”

He sat down in his spot, looking to the empty seat beside him as if expecting to see it move back a bit for someone to sit on it.

“Dun be shy, we all a friendly bunch of coconuts.”

He laughed with this, took a bear out of a man’s hands who seemed like he was about to drop it anyway, and drank from it. He waited expectantly for someone to reply so he knows he wasn’t finally losing the little piece of sanity he had.

-------

He didn’t flinch at her action. He simply smiled softly at her, and waited for her words. His smile soon turned into a small frown as he watched her walk away, but he continued to follow her, paying no attention to the shadow that seemed to move. Why would it matter to him anyway?

“Are you sure? I’m pretty good at bandages, at that bite looks pretty… disgusting. And its pretty dangerous nowadays. Murders, accidents, rapists, I’m sure you can handle yourself, but still, its dangerous.”

That’s when a snarling came from behind Dehvi, he again didn’t pay attention, continuing to walk calmly beside her as if he didn’t hear it.

“If you live far, I can even let you stay at my home, there’s many empty rooms and I usually keep myself away in the study room. So the bedrooms are hardly used, not to mention I’m a pretty fine cook.”

The snarling became louder as the possessed human that Nasaca didn’t properly kill, attack Dehvi’s back. It’s claws scrapped away at his back. But no pain, not even the slightest look of pain, flashed across his face, he just smiled and ignored the sounds. It wouldn’t be noticed because he was wearing clothes, but if it was his bare back, anyone could see the claws weren’t even able to make contact on his back. It was being blocked by a half a centimetre invisible shield.

“I can also provide protection for you, if you choose so.”

He didn’t look toward the possessed human as its attacks stopped; no strain were found upon Dehvi’s figure. It was as if he wasn’t even aware of this demon. Then, it was crushed by an invisible force, bones being ground as the blood just fell to the floor, rather than splatter everywhere.

The soul gem seemed to rip itself away from the body and hover in front of Nasaca.

“My names Dehvi, and I’m no more than an ordinary human civilian.” He gave her a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his head.

Nasaca generally ignored the stranger's question as she walked, holding her arm in a fashion to make it seem less worse than it was.
Suddenly, she felt a shiver run down her spine as she heard the sound of bones cracking.
"Wha-?!" She turned around, and to her suprise found a soul gem hovering in front of her. The stranger seemed to be intact, a bloody puddle behind him.

Nasaca took the gem out of the air and stared down at it, biting her lip. Who ever this person was, he had killed a devil faster than she ever could. She couldn't help but be a little threatened by this.
"I could've handled it myself..." She tried keeping her words polite, but she didn't trust other devils. They we're evil, manipulative creatures who had taken her past away and any hopes for a future.

She threw the gem at the stranger's chest.
"You can have it." She said, her voice almost hostile-sounding. Accepting help now would make her look stupid (in her opinion) and weak.
I'll find a place to stay on my own, and I'll fix my arm myself! She thought stubbornly. Nasaca pursed her lips and continued her walk at a more brisk pace.

As Vincent saw his rich-looking house coming into view, he checked for any civilians that are looking at him...no civilians. Good. As he got closer to home, he flapped his wings as he began to slow down to make his landing. He placed his legs out for him to land in front of the house but not in the front door. As his legs touched the ground, he felt his feet take a couple of steps forward for him. After his landing, his wings disappeared in a quick dark flash and he began to walk up to the front door.

Vincent walked over to the door and looked to his right and rang the door bell and waited for his parents to answer it. After waiting for about five seconds the door opened to reveal his father-with dark blue hair and brown eyes while dressed casually in a white shirt and blue jeans-and his mother-with silver hair and eyes, dressed in a very beautiful white dress. Vincent's mother was happy to see him home again while his dad had a very concerned look at the moment.

"Hi sweety pie."
"Hi mom. Umm, dad, are you okay?"
"Just in time. We have some important concerns right now."
"What is it? Did something happen?"
"Yes. In New York City..."
"NYC...?"

Character: Veronica

As Veronica made her way downstairs into the family room, she saw her father watching the news on TV. Her father then turned to his attention to her.

"Good, you came. You have a mission in New York City. We have already paid for your mission to the city. You are to investigate a recent devil attack and then report back the damages and who done it. Are we clear?"
"Yes father. It will be done."

Looking at sin, Vasil thought to himself 'God dammit, why do I work with these people?' and placed the glass of vodka down on the table and looked at Edward. "So, since we may as well be obviously going. When does the next plane leave?"

"If you want to know so badly, two days from now. Ill of course pay for it. So sit back and relax these next two days."

"Course you've paid for everything." Mumbled under his breathe, completely untrusting of this old man who he just met today, gave him a job and booked a flight with who appears to be an insane sociopath. Slowly bringing his head to the table he mumbled three more words. "God dammit Karma."

Location:Rome, still.

Inside a church was a man crying while sitting in the pew when a man came in. Though he seemed human, he had white hair and red eyes. Underneath the shirt at around the neck toe beneath the chin and an odd, light-blue 'skin'. Looking around, he set his eyes onto them and and walked up beside. Looking at the altar, he grasped both his hands and said something. "Forgive me father for I am about to sin."

The man looked to Fyodir(just for the god damned sake of not saying man so bloody much.) and looked with emotionless eyes. "Devil. Prepare to be judged. Restriction code 732, accepted."

Out of the mans back came what appeared to be a light blue blade, which spli into six blades which allowed him to float. "Opening Gateway."

A black and red portal appeared in front of him and launched a sword at Fyodir.

(OOC: Javi gave me the okay to kill the random devil-being.)

Fyodir saw this red and black portal in front of him and saw a sword project out of it. Startled, Fyodir strafed to his rifle, taking a graze on his cheek. Pointing his rifle at the flying individual, Fyodir said...

"Your sword traveled at a decent speed. Impressive, I must say...and this portal is very interesting as well. It is as if a hole was ripped through time and space. You seem to be a devil as well, judging by the power you are using. I do not sense a hint of German within you though. My sole purpose here is to rid this world of devils, despite being one. I died in Stalingrad, fighting Hitler's forces in Red Square. I have come back to take the lives of all devils who I think have the souls of German soldiers within them. After that, I have intention to go back to Hell with the rest of my fallen comrades."

Fyodir smirked and fired a round into the palms of the random being.

"That is for ruining the face of a hero who sacrificed his life to save the motherland from the German Wermacht. Tell me who you are and why you attacked me now or I will break one of your bones with another round from this beautiful killing machine.

The 'man' looked at both of his palms as they cseems to almost short circuit. "Gateway program has become unstable. Further use restricted, switching to close combat mode."

A visor formed in front of his eyes as the six blades floating at his back spread open and emitted a dim blue light as he hovered a bit. "Tell me who you are and why you attacked me now or I will break one of your bones with another round from this beautiful killing machine."

"Response requested." The robot bowed and went back to an upright position. "I am aV29, or version twenty-nine. The twenty-ninth model created by Lord Granitz to eradicate Devils from the face of this world. In testing phase." taking an almost neutral stance and seemingly stared at Fyodir through the Visor. "That is what my programming dictates. And so, it shall be done. In the name of god."

The robot charged towards Fyodir and attempted to stab his face but missed. "Error. Targeting system offline. Troubleshooting, lag time. One second." The V29, as it was called, then brought up a fist in an uppercut while the blades swirled around aiming for Fyodir. "Troubleshooting, complete."

Dr. Hax
11-17-2009, 11:57 PM
Fyodir took the uppercut like a man and fell back a bit. Getting behind the pews, he said...

"What is a robot, what is "troubleshooting" and who is Lord Granitz? I do not understand why you are not human. No human could knock me back like that."

Glowing a faint, yellow aura, Fyodir realized that Alexei, one of his comrades, was angry. He could hear the voice of his brother in arms.

I don't know who or what this thing is but nobody hits my commanding officer. Fyodir, let us take him together for Rossiya Matushka.

Fyodir cracked his knuckles, put away his rifle and unsheathed his knife. He rushed at this...thing with enhanced speed and grabbed one of the robot's legs to slice the other off at the knee.

As Veronica left the house with her weapons, she took note of a black limbo that stopped in front of the house. She walked toward the front of the limbo and as the window of the car slid down into the door, she peeked into it and saw the driver, one of her father's aquantience, dressed like a butler.

"Good day mylady, you have been told to go to LAX for your mission. Your flight has already been paid and your destination has been set."

Veronica backed up a bit and bowed to the driver, something that she learned when she was a child. She was very greatful of the driver.

"Thank you mister..."
"You can call me Walter, Mister Walter."
"Ah, thank you Mister Walter."

Veronica walked toward the back passenger door of the limbo and opened it. She stepped into the car and sat in the seat near the window. She then closed the door and she felt a slight wind catch her as she heard the door close. Walter started the car and began to drive down the road. Veronica looked out the window and toward some neighbors as Walter drove her out of the neighboorhood and into the streets. The car then made a right into the street

Character: Vincent

Vincent walked into the family room of his house and looked at the brand new TV his parents bought recently using the money he gave them. The TV showed a street covered in blood and gore, people on the ground, face first, dead. Vincent cleary knew that this wasn't an ordinary devil who did this. His only question is who did this and what was his intentions...Vincent looked toward his father and mother.

"I see you're taking the advantage of the money we have to buy more unnecessary items.
"Hey, we have to catch up to the world somehow...You should head over to New York City and check out the situation."
"I know...Hey mom, how's my other weapons?"
"They're always fresh and ready for you my beloved child."
"Thanks mom and dad. I know I can count on you to help me out."
"We're always here to help you when you need it son."

Vincent smiled to his parents as he walked into the hallway, making note of the paintings his parents used to decorate the hallway. He made a right into his room and saw his pair of Uzis waiting for him on his desk. He picked up the Uzis and holistered them along with a few extra clips on his desk. He knew he needed all the weapons he needed right now. He was ready for anything that was thrown at him.

"And yet my friend here we stand. Toe to toe, our lives on the line. And for what. You want to call yourself, powerful?? By consuming my Soulgem you believe you can, in some twisted fashion of self-motivation, and fear of death, grow as strong as a Thanatos-level Devil...Foolish."

Slowly a moutainous Devil stepped forward. Throwing it's massive head back in a grand roar, one which shook the very fomation of the beautiful wonder of the human world. From a cliff-face, several metters away, stood a white haired 21 year old looking male. The robes that covered his scarred chest loosely hanging to the side, off of his left shoulder. A grin plastered across his arrogant face. His eyes closed. The large demon before him was of a fallen rank. powerful. he was known in the world of Devils as, Gaia, the demon that controled the very earth, and ground. A single stomp of his massive foot could bring down buildings, create earthquakes, and bring forth mudslides. A worthy Devil indeed.

"As foolish as my quest may seem to you, Gaia.....The fact remains that your time is up. I would prefer you simply give your Soulgem to me. You would become moral, and remember nothing of our kind yet you would still have you life."

The massive devil throw his head back once again. This time in a flustter of laughter, burst of wind, and air crashing against the canyon face, slowly scratching large gashs, andlashs against the rock. Slowly bits, and pieces of rubble, and rocks connected with the frame of the 5'9 demon standing with that same grin across his face. His hair, and clothes whipping, and thrashing about from the force of air around him. Still.....he didn't move a muscle.

"I take it your amuaed by this. Eh Gaia??"

"Amused is not the half of it, CHILD!!! You young Devil think you can come, and do as you please. Kill, and destroy without answering to a single soul. Well, young one..........."

The massive devil leaned in, and placed, and massive elbow on the canyon wall, getting its overly sized face several feet from the pitiful small demon before him.

"Your going to answer to.......GAH!!!!"

A loud crack of thunder echoed into the night sky. The rattling of chains, and the screeching of metal sung, and brillant melody of rapture. White hair painted crimson, the gleam from the moon's light draping the canyon in an blanket of light. The sound of ripping flesh, and severed tissue vibrating deeply in the ears of the Devil.

"It seems you, like everyone else, doesn't understand when I speak, it is of the truth. And like everyone else......your death will lead into many more. I claim you soulgem as my own, Great Gaia. Remember my name as you fade in the darkest reaching of your existence, or what you have left, For I am Azrael Cero. The God of Lightening"

The whipping of chains, and screeching metal faded with a loud locking sound. The curved blade, and extended polearm disappearing in a flash of light. The small devil landing on a whole new cliff face. His back turned towards his previous location, where, a large body tembled backwards. It's head disconected, fired to a crisp, and gone forever. The body landing with a massive thud, and burst in a show of lighting. It painted the sky in a blaket of pure white glory. The devil taking a moment to savor it before stepping into a makeshift hole. Disappearing just as the sun rose, peaking over the canyon tops.

Location: Purgatory

Azrael stepped into Purgatory with that plaster grin across his face. it was both ininteresting, and disturbing. he stepped slowly throughout. Lesser demons already disappeared. Leaving him alone, and to himself.

"It seemed a Hellgate close by as an large increasing of energy pulsating through it. A well enough number of devil must have gathered. Even hints of truly powerful ones. Italy....Interesting."

Azrael's grin grew wickedly larger. jumping into the Hellgate, his robe hanging further of his shoulder.

Some time had passed... Yosi had fled Italy sometime ago to recoperate from the trauma of that night. He understood so little and decided it was best to return home to university in Cambridge and study the text in his possession before he made any move that could result in his life being further meshed with the violence and chaos he had seen. It wasn't horribly traumatic in itself, but the knowledge that more lay beneath the surface and what he had seen merely reflected it in pale form. Like the bubbles of methane that hint at the rotting log beneath a still pond.

On the way back he took the overland route, watching the European contryside pass from his sleeper car. Alone but for the ever present book. The book which seemed always to pour forth new bits of knowledge. He tracked all the demons he had seen in Venice and new where each was. That would prove beneficial if he ever had need to find them again.

But now he arrived in belgium just one puddle jumping plane ride from England. He stepped off the train and moved toward the hotel where he would spend the night before redoubling his studies at the university. Perhaps he could cross reference the Goetia with some primary sources to establish a more succinct history.

Vincent walked outside and into the backyard. Outside, he saw a pool that came with the house. This pool had a shallow end and a deep end. He also took note of the corners at the end of the backyard. His training space-which had a couple of target boards and dummies-was the place where his parents trained him, he never forgot about it. And the right corner-which consists of a fireplace and a lot of empty space-was where his parents and himself sat down to discuss important topics.

Vincent walked over to the deep end of the pool and looked down into the pool. He heard his mother's footsteps get closer to him as he wondered where to start investigating in New York City. He heard her cast a spell into the pool and a whirlpool suddenly opened up. His mother also held her hand out to give him money just in case he needed it.

"Thanks mom."
"See you later son."
"You too."

Vincent took the money and jumped into the portal knowing that he's going somewhere...foriegn.
