Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo

The first episode really stunned me with its art, and also since ive read the book (Count of Monte Cristo) and also seen the newer movie. Overall great anime, but the ending left me a little empty:mad: what did u guys think of it?

This is my favorite anime in terms of visual artistry. Yeah it looks good and that's about it, it remains pretty much average to me overall.

Does Count of Monte Cristo (anime) really connected to the book?

I thought they just named it that way but stepped away from the story in the book.

Nevertheless, The animation was one of a kind - truly unique. I love how they drawn the characters and designed the clothes.

The ending was a...shocker.... wasn't happy and wasn't upset. I loved the Count but I hated him towards the end, and started to like Albert even more. The art annoyed me in the beginning but the story was too good to drop! I absolutly love this anime.
