Just finished watching Chobits

I enjoyed this anime for the most part. I actually started watching it a couple years ago but I was turned off by the first episode; I found it rather perverted. Then a friend of mine actually said it was really cute, so I started watching it again this summer, and I have to say I agree! Once you get into it a little bit it's very cute and it also has good humor. Although, sometimes it can get pretty weird, especially where the main character Hideki is concerned. I'm also not sure I can really imagine someone getting into a relationship with a persocon. To me that's just like trying to date an object. But, the other characters are really cute. I think my favorite character was actually Sumomo, I loved her personality :) I also really loved to music in this anime as well, I think the next time I go to an anime convention I'm going to try to find a CD.

So what do you think about this anime? Who's your favorite character and why?

i got really into the manga way back in high school but for some reason stopped reading it after i got hooked on the Love Hina manga. I've been meaning to revisit it. maybe i'll watch the anime and see how it is. Also, the dating a persocon thing isnt very far fetched, heck those super life like love dolls are big business in japan--i read an article on a guy who "married" one and there are now love hotels that feature love dolls instead of real girls. so yeah i imagine if someone started giving them personalities we'd see a strange drop in the birth rate....sad but true?

i really liked it. it was so cute, even a little perverted.my favorite character is chii. i find her very amusing. I could understand his wanting to marry her cause she developed a personality and he fell in love with her. but i still find that somewhat weird.

Woah! I didn't know something like this actually happened in real life. That is seriously not healthy. I would be curious to see one of those dolls though.

I watched the anime and I thought it as really good. My favorite character was Hideki. :p I know he was perverted and everything, but he was never perverted with Chii which just goes to show how much he cared about her.

My favorite character was Both CHi and Hideki.
The show was really touching. But I would never feel the same way Hideki did. I would have treated Chi as a houseworker and not as a lover.

well....no. i just brought it up because of all the sex doll talk (which is started but still). its about a guy who dates a life size sex doll. as dirty as that premise sounds, the movie is actually the opposite and its really touching (hell i watched it with the fam)

to be honest i thought many years that chobits is a Anime for perverts.
Finally I watched it because somoene told me it would be cute.
But i still dont get the End. Hideki falls in Love with Chi, but he knows that there are things she cant do with him (No im not the pervert here)
Whats with all the talk and bad jokes about Hidekis specialbooks?;)
I thought that such things were important for him.
I mean.. hey.. every time he touches her ... she will get out of order..thats not funny:(
