My first wallpaper to see if I have a good understanding of what makes good wallpaper. Made from different pics, cut and pasted together. If it turns out well, I'll start making more original ones.

Well...
It's not good at all.
There is no blending, no effort...
Also, the quality on the extract of Saber is poor.

If you are trying to make a wallpaper, never ever just simply cut and paste all the images together.

Add to that: This image can not be used as a wallpaper because it does not have a standard aspect ratio. The ratio of its dimensions should be 4:3, 5:4, 3:2, etc. Your image should be 1024x768, while it is 1024x819. You should crop the extra space.

The good thing is: You made the left and right sides empty, which is good because that's where desktop icons usually go. Also, you left a top margin. But you should drag your character a little bit to the middle.

Try using Photoshop, GIMP or any image processing program to smooth the edges of the character.

But I say that this image in general does not suit as a wallpaper. Wallpapers are used to create an atmosphere where they go almost unnoticed, but this one drags much attention since it has a lot of contrast (very light along with very dark.) You should try a more calmed background.

Also, I don't think that the character and the background suit each other. This is an anime character, and that is a realistic 3D image. It's like having the face of a real human on the top of an anime body.

This is constructive criticism, so keep those hints in mind and try to make a new one. We'll be glad to see and comment it :).

The last note I want to say is that if you want to add your name or signature, you should make it at the bottom line.

Good luck.
