talk about forgetting your childhood, huh?

ugh! forgot how amazing the end credits music is! man back when this was airing on toonami i had the end credits and suzuka theme songs constantly playing on my computer. I also have a really weird nostalgic feeling. Its weird coming back to watching anime after such a long hiatus (high school and college) and take another shot at my old favorites after checking out newer stuff. maybe i'm overly sentimental, but i feel almost sad about it.

weird

I watched the whole series of outlaw star during a snow week (we missed a whole week of school because of snow). When I was little I only saw episodes here or there but watching it in a row now that I'm older, I found it amazing and wished it wasn't so short.

Outlaw Star was one of my absolute fav's. Watched it, like most everyone else, on Toonami originally. Loved racing home just to catch the next episode. I own the box set now. One of my cherished DVDs.

Hard to explain exactly why this series was SOOOO good, but that ending theme song definitely played a part. Ah, now I so have to go watch the whole series again.

By the way... anyone ever watch the spin-off they did? I forget exactly what the name was... "Angel" something... Angel-links, perhaps? I remember hearing it didn't have the original crew in it, so I passed it up. Kind of curious if it was any good.

Angel Links (http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/angel-links) was pretty good.
I mean you will probably like Outlaw Star more, but there are some references and character cross over. it is not that long a series. I would recommend it. =)

I couldn't get tired of this series if I tried. I'm so glad I nabbed the DVDs off my friend so I can watch this uncut the way it was supposed to be!!

Still like the English voices more!! Can you believe that!?

The sub is okay...but in the dub, it feels like the actors give the characters much more personality. :]

Indeed, it does. The english voices match perfectly with the characters' nature and way of being, it's very satisfying.

And what I've also admired is the detail and effort that's shown with how the characters were drawn. The hair, eyes, color, shadowing, and textures... it's all so pleasing to the eyes. Sure, some of the body proportions do come out a bit off in a few episodes, but that never bothered me when watching Outlaw Star or any other classic anime, it's to be expected and accepted.

XD Fantastic. We are about the same age, your a year younger than me, and this could have very easily been me making this thread. I wanted to buy up all the anime that I used to watch on TV about a year ago, and outlaw star was among them. When that ending theme came on I went nuts too.

Me and my brother when I was a kid actually had this weird contest where we'd see how long we could hold the last syllable of the word 'outlaw' before needing to say star, like the little mid caption in the show.

OUTLAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW STAR!!!

XD

Also for some reason I always really liked:

TO....

BE.....

TO BE CONTINUED

I loved it when they had those little gunshots before they went to commercial, and after they came back.
