I'm on a weird computer and it won't download or display the appropriate language packs in order that I converse in the tongue of my people. XB

Is anyone interested in trying their hand at a Japanese discussion in Romanji? This can be helpful to those who are learning the language but have not yet mastered the kana. That and I get bored being around all these Americans all the time. I love Americans, don't get me wrong, but I like my language, too.

So, you're Japanese?

And just so you know, it's Romaji.

Originally, yes. It started out as a common error in spelling. Over time, the error became so common that both are accepted as correct. ^^

And as far as me being Japanese, I was born and raised, yes, but I've spent so much time in America I guess you could count it either way. Don't worry, I'm not trying to steal your thunder, you can still be the resident Japanese girl. :P

"The word "rōmaji" is sometimes incorrectly transliterated as romanji or rōmanji."

Quoted from Wiki.

So, where from Japan do you come from?

Like I said in my opening post, this wonderful US Government computer won't display the language packs, so that was a waste of typing, but seriously... Hirano-ku... Osaka...

And just so you know, I'm a moron, not a fibber. ;)

EDIT: Is that where all this nonsense is coming from? Do you think I speak Japanese? I'mnot really that fluent, I've been in America for almost twenty years. What I know now comes from my mother. o.o

Also I think it needs more than one year to get a dialect ^^°
But probably every person is different there ^^

Cool.

That's close to Tennouji where my sister used to live. Or at least I think it is... I'm terrible with geography... >_>;

Edit: Lava, I stayed with my dad in Wakayama for like, 6 months, and when I came back to Chiba I spoke in Kansai-ben. =P My friends were all like; O_o

Yeah, it's pretty close. I think Ikuno is the only ku seperating them.

I've once been to the zoo in tennoji was kinda creepy since a lot of blue huts were right next there...Dunno about the rest though

maybe taking on a dialect is easier in japan...in germany it took me 2 or 3 years to take on parts of the local dialect here ^^

lol. I think where Osaka-ben throws most people off is in negatives. It's hen instead of nai.

I go around causing unnecessary trouble. If I go to Japan and act like a douche, will people automatically think americano?

That's true of most countries, isn't it?

Maybe so. So what.... Japan is one-sided anyway.
