From Vivaldi to Mozart, this is a thread about Baroque classical. Does anyone listen to the Baroque style of classical? What do you think about it? I love the emotional draw you can feel from the style. You can hear and feel the author's emotion through the composition. A composition Mozart finished was his Requiem. He made it while he was dying and the way the composition is written you can feel a man begging to his dying breath.

First off Mozart wasn't Baroque era. He was Classical era.
Also theres no such thing as Baroque Classical, thats like say Renascence Enlightenment.
Finally theres no emotion in Baroque era music. It was very controled, no dynamics. I think you may want to look into Romantic era music. It was full of dynamics and had lots of emotion. Beethoven started it(my favorite composer btw). Mozart was Classical era and while Classical era had little or no dynamics Mozart was an exception. Thats probably why his music speaks to you.
As for actuall Baroque era music, Bach is the obvious choice. I love his stuff. Who cant adore Toccata & Fugue?

No, but Mozart practiced in the Baroque style. It wasn't the period I was talking about. I was talking about the style. And personally I think the Baroque had emotion to it. I read things in it and I like it.

I think I know what you're talking about...I think. Mozart would have written Baroque music in his early life but stuff like his Requiem was Classical, borderline Romantic style. When I say era I basically mean style. How the music is written.
Ok maybe saying theres no emotion was wrong of me. It has almost no emotion. Baroque music is very rigid and stiff. No dynamics makes sure of that.

I might be getting confused, but how does this not have emotion in it:

There is something in that song. And it lifts me up and it makes me be drawn to it. I can view these images and I can see these things. And it evokes things inside of me. Emotionally.

Or even this

Once again. I can feel and see things. I can interrupt the music with something behind it. I love it.

There are composers that I don't that use the baroque style. And there are ones that I like. The ones I like are the ones that evoke things in me. I love all of Bachs stuff, especially his masses.

I don't know if this baroque style, but I love this.

I'm going to change my topic to flat out classical. There no more issues or misunderstandings.

I might be getting confused, but how does this not have emotion in it. They do but not to the same extent as lets say Berlioz.

The melodies are lovely but the rush that comes with dynamics isn't there. Its still cool, and emotion is there. Just not as much.

Or just orchestrated music ;)
Like I said my favorite is Beethoven. Coming in a close second is Mozart. His Piano concerto number 23 is my favorite composition ever.

Okay, just orchestrated music. I will always love Mozart's Requiem. You can feel a man's begging for death and you can feel the depth of it. The music is so beautiful, so marvelous. The death of man it's so deep. And my favorite will always be Lacrimosa:

Oh but I love love love Telemann, there is something there about his music. It's very trance worthy. It's really great, especially his Transverse concerto:

I do! It's a very distinct kind of classical that I usually enjoy more than the rest.

I especially like Baroque oboe. And I like Handel's Water Music. A specific recording of "Andante" from it basically got me into the bassoon.

I really like this type of classic music. Although I am not really knowledgeable in this area of music. I really like piano music, my favorite composer would have to be Chopin. I really like his fast pace in his compositions.
