Am I the only one who wants to get rid of Captain-Commander?

Sooo... As the thread says: Am I the only one who wants to get rid of Captain Commander Yamamato Genryuusai? I can't help it but despise him. He is old (yeah maybe I am bad for not liking to look into old man being the best in Soul Society), arrogant and he thinks of Captains not as friends. I think leader shouldn't be so cocky as he is and besides: he fought just one time! Everything else he leaves to captains, and he doesn't care if they would die doing that mision. Well I just hate him and I would better see any other captain in his position. If I would be Tite Kubo I would make Aizen kill him.

So what do you think about him? Would you do the same or not? And why?

Nope your not the only one, I hate him as well, hes attitude irritates me, he probably was good in hes time but I think its time for him to step down or get killed by Aizen as you say, to me hes the most useless captain there is.

I really can't say that I hate him nor like him. He doesn't show that he cares for his captain cause they will always depend on him if they're in a jam. Tho I don't agree with the arrogant way he does things I will say that its good that he does it. He was a really old way of leading others without them having to come to him every five seconds. But yes he should be kill and let someone else take over for a while.

I agree. He thinks less of his Captain's and could care less if they were injured/killed. He should be replaced by someone who didn't care less of his Captain's and people.

I see the 13 divisions as an army, an army has soldiers and of course a leader, the soldiers need to accomplish their missions no matter what and the leader is not there to feel sympathy or befriend his soldiers, so i think hes got the right attitude for a leader.
It would be nice if he was more friendly yes, but i dont think its really that bad that hes not.
Imagine if soul society had a captain commander like hitsugaya, kenpachi, ukitake or kyoraku, there would be no authority cause theyre soft and lazy, however i could see soifon and byakuya lol even mayuri as captain commanders cause theyre strict as well.

Nor I. I don't like him much either, but i have to agree with Saint. You have to think of the 13 squads as an army...or better yet, each is a marine platoon, and we now just expendable Marines are. Or, at least that's how they're thought of. And it's their mission, when given one, to accomplish, by all means available, and if necessary, by the ultimate sacrifice. But yes, he could be a little more nicer. But then again, he IS old.

Haha, I though I was the only one too. I absolutely hate his attitude. He really could care less for the other captains. I think yama-ji does a good job as a general.
He's not attached to anyone so he's free to strategize and task his troops in the most efficient manner. In an army you can't be constantly worried about people getting killed, it will happen and when it happens everyone else has to collect the dead, move through it, and mourn after the mission is complete.
Is he a jerk? yes. It's not savory to think that he moves everyone around like chess pieces, but he does so and trusts them to complete their tasks as their rank demands. As a general he gets the job done and like any evil boss who's good at their job it makes you just want to kick the crap outta him.

Well I don't think Hitsugaya is soft and lazy. He orders people around too. Ukitake isn't lazy either. But I have to agree with you for some points, however I still want to get rid of him :D. You write, that he is got the right attitude. I do not agree with that. I think if he were more friendly with his subordinates and everyone else, atleast do something to know them, I think he would have noticed Aizen's PROBLEM. How can he trust people, that he doesn't even know? It seems the only thing he cares about other captains, is that they have Bankai. Nothing else...

It wasn't shown how long Aizen was Hirako's Vice-captain, but Aizen was captain about... 100 years? If Yamamato Genryuusai only had given a little efort to get to know more about his subordinates I think he would have noticed something wrong. I mean even if Aizen was carefull,Gin and Tousen wasn't that carefull. And they all were captains!!! Anyways from my point of view Captain commander is needed to be replaced.

Yeah, but they didn't. That should show you he has the power to take on two captains. He may be a jerk, but he has some power left. Hopefully he takes down one of Aizens warriors before he dies.

You forget that Soul Society isn't a buddy-buddy place. It's supposed to be a militaristic. So the fact that he doesn't see them as friends but as comrades in arms makes sense. The fact that all the other captains act purely on emotion and by the fact that they're all friends doesn't make sense.

Technically, he's the only person in Soul Society doing his job right.

4th captain~ can't fight.
5th captain~ the main bad guy so far.
6th captain~ got his arse beat down by ichigo, and is not strong enough. too young stilll.
7th captain~ Would not have the leading ablilities needed.
8th captain~ Lazy and careing.
9th captain~ Blind and a bad guy that got 100% owned my Kenny!

As mean as the 1st captain is he is needed, and needs to be the way he is. The captains, and seconds are grown boys and girls and should look out for themselves.

The one that should replace head captain would be Kenpachi with a Ban-kai. Why? when he gets Ban-Kai I figure he will not be the same, if you had not noticed as the show has gone on he has changed. He would be the strongest without doubt. there is a reason why he dose not have Ban-Kai....... the show would have ended long ago.

If they had Urahara Kisuke replace him I'd be so happy. Have Aizen kill him and the soul society realizes how much they need Kisuke that'd prove that he's better than stinkin Mayuri (who if he became head captain I'd stop watching bleach). I do however understand his cocky attitude. I don't think they explained it in the anime but Byakuya is his grandson and I suppose he can't show that he cares too much for him when he would give his life to protect him.

6th captain~ Would be the next in line by blood and skill
7th captain~ Good leader but emotionally weak.
8th captain~ Powerful but bored of never having anything to do

10th captain~ Extremely powerful, wise, insightful, unyielding, and a careuful planner
11th captain~ Has the skill but not the knowledge experience or patience

He leaded Vizards for so many years and he was a great Captain(not including him not noticing Aizen). Besides he is powerfull.

Make sense that Shinji could but he is still too young. Even if he could he would never be picked for the job.
