Lovely image , i mean that girl. Sweet expressions and its a well done wallpaper.
I think the background is also really nice , i am so excited to see when you finish this one fully! ^__^

Nice job! *bows*

Wow that's some pretty impressive work right there. The only weird thing I saw was the awning in the back, and one of the arches was crooked in the lower left side. Besides that it looks pretty impressive. I like the dark tone of the water, and how the the calmness of the business of the background complements the tranquility of the character. Pretty nice job, but are you going to add color to it, or leave it like that?

Wow it looks pretty awsome in black and white, can't wait till you add color to it, and I like the girl on the boat.

I'm not planning on adding color to it. I had to vector the entire thing using a photograph as a base. All of the outlines are based off of an actual photo graph

Wow really? I thought you did that whole thing from scratch and I was amazed that you spent so long on the background. Well it doesn't matter, it's still a pretty good wallpaper, but it would be better with color. However, leaving it without color makes it look like a manga pic, so maybe that's what you were going for?

Yes I am going for a "manga" look.

Hopefully from here you will start dividing up the buildings from the water and throw in some waves or something. That will probably be a nice challenge for you. Right now, it looks great, all the bases are covered with where you want the details to go, the line of where water and solid ground divides is good, so now all you need to do is finish it.

Wow! that is actually very professional looking, and impressive to be made from scratch. I love the water texture behind the girl too. I can't wait until it's finshed! :3

It look pretty good to me. I like the style you used. I think the background was done quite a better done then the character in the middle.
Keep up the hard work. :)

Yeah, the only serious thing that's left is making the water more believable (also, the oar should be under water). The character outlines still look a bit mismatched to the background, so you might have to revector Akari - not really sure about that, perhaps just duplicating the lineart and moving it a pixel to the left/right/up or whatever is enough. Boat would look nicer if it was textured or something, just not plain black. Also, where the did you put her legs? She's just floating there with nothing from her ankles till hips.

Hey Muzzy, I found her legs!
