Has anyone read this awesome series? It is like a teen soap opera on crack lol. Basiscally, new girl from poor family enrolls in rich elite school. She tries to remain quiet, but within the first five minutes, she ends up causing a commotion. Afterwards, lots of events. The manga series is almost finished. The last graphic novel, volume 36, is going to be released on June 11th. I'm up to volume 6 now. So far, its awesome. Any thoughts?

I've never watched the drama. I was introduced to the manga series through the anime series (I saw the first six episodes).

Isn't this Hana Yori Dango though?? Hmm, did they make a new one or something??
I absolutely love the manga. It's so cute.
I've watched all of the drama versions of this, from Meteor Garden, Hana Yori Dango and finally the Boys Over Flowers Korean version.

I've seen all the incarnations - the dramas, the anime, and the manga.
The Korean drama is presently being aired here in my country and it looks pretty good so far. The thing i like about this version is that it has the 'best-looking' Tsukushi (Jan Di), why best looking? Because compared to the Taiwanesa and the Japanese Tsukushis, the Korean girl doesn't look THAT GOOD - and that is how Tsukushi is supposed to be.
The Taiwanese version was basically the one that sparked up our country's interest in Asian dramas back in the day. This version looks all-too-dry for my tastes, good thing is, it gave good emphasis to the other 2 members of F4 too - something you won't see in the Japanese version. I never liked the idea of making the F4 boys all-too-macho.
The Japanese version is the best of the three in terms of the technicalities, better portrayal, better visuals, yadda yadda. Seasons 1 and 2 were aired here a few years back and i still have 'em on .avi including the "ending movie". This version boasts the best cast of all the three live incarnations.
-----
I've watched the anime 6 or 7 years ago during the height of its popularity here in my country, it is a pretty good version i must say and it doesn't fail too much in capturing the overall feel of the manga. This show is currently being re-aired at an anime channel here in my country during weekday afternoons.
-----
'Bout the manga, it definitely lives up to its popularity and acclaim (unlike most popular ones out there). It's one of those stuff that can back up its popularity with how good it really is. Definitely not a favorite of mine but there's no doubt why it is currently the best-selling shojo manga of all time.

The anime is the only one I haven't seen yet. But in fact I have to admit I've enjoyed all of it. Maybe it's because of the influence of the manga or something, but I think all three dramas were good and have their own special qualities..

I believe what I remember most about the anime was the music. I really liked it, and it made everything very melodramatic. Boys Over Flowers is definetly melodramatic. I'm going to assume the live-action versions have subtitles right, or is there really bad dubbing?

Philippines? The anime version of HYD is being re-aired right now on Hero, you could catch it during weekdays. What I'm not sure of is its time slot (around 3-4 pm i guess) though i've managed to channel surf through it several times by now.

Janajee - Last time i saw it (which was a few days ago) the series was already on the basketball game where Rui (along with "two noobs") battle against the other three members of the F4.
oishi88ramen - Janajee is from the Philippines and she's yet to see the HYD anime. If you could re-read my previous post you could clearly see that i'm telling her that HYD is being re-aired right now in one of our local anime channels. Thus giving her the chance and option to finally watch it.

:laugh:I just finished Korean drama 'Boys Over Flowers (http://www.puttles.com/Korean-Drama-Boys-Over-Flowers-_175_0_1)' last week, and I admit, I was hooked until I got through all the episodes I really like the cast of this Korean remake.:D:rolleyes: I'd watched the Taiwan version, but prefer the Korean story line cos it's so much tighter. You can watch Boys Over Flowers (http://www.puttles.com/Korean-Drama-Boys-Over-Flowers-_175_0_1) online.:p

I first watched it by its different versions of live actions. And for me, Japanese version is the cutest live action among the three (the other two were Korean and Taiwanese ver). The whole story's so sweet..And funny too^^.
