Although the RP won't be starting until June 6th, I thought it might be a good idea to give you guys a thread to discuss the RP amongst yourselves, you can discuss theories and other things, but if you're going to ask me a question, I don't have to answer them, and neither does Shobu or Tetsano...we want to keep things secret. :D

Every time, he'd smack me out of the air and pull a multi-stab combo...Then those damned wolves serve as another hindrance due to them hopping around all the time.

I will also be playing Aeon Flux (with voice acting by Charlize Theron) as it kind of reminds me of GITS: SAC, the game. Both are for the PS2.

For one I don't want to come back and read everything, and two the Co-GM's aren't just GM's but announcers too, and before I even start I need to write something (Almost done but trust me you guys will love it)

So, I assume everyone knows the forms of paragraph fighting? As fighting each other is a main aspect of this RP, I hope everyone is clear on the difference between god modding and the opposite.

Well Tetsano while you're here now and asking why don't you explain it to them?

Here is my source for easy reference (http://falco1029.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=51), and the T1 system is generally a good guideline. Obviously more detail should go into posts, but at the same time this should be known innately.

T1 Fighting is a paragraph based RP combat system. This deals with positioning and attempts.

--Positioning is the placement of your character, his/her weapons, arms, legs, and basically every part of their body. In certain positions you cannot react well to given conditions or events. This may seem complicated but try to be realistic... At times your sword in a riposte or parry will be ineffective to block another attack depending on the placement.

--Attempts are just that. You cannot auto-hit someone, that is to say, determine your opponent's fate or what they would do. You must give them a chance to react to the circumstances presented to them. Remember, sometimes you just have to take a hit... your not immortal either and if your slashed across the chest, its going to hurt like hell. Basically you are trying to force your opponent into a position where they have to take a hit.

Ules Note: Doing something along the lines of posting "He swung with such speed that it'd be impossible to dodge", and then getting mad if someone does is just as bad as godding them being hit. If it truly would be impossible, that'd be obvious. You may, however, use descriptors such as 'very difficult to avoid', 'tough to dodge', and 'lightning fast bolt', and then if the person's already in a bad position and dodges for no good reason or without any good rp, THEN you may question it. But keep such questioning to pm's.

The final thing to think about is timing. Dont do some idiotic thing like straighten your hair instead of blocking unless you can maneuver with the attack and gain more time. Be reasonable people!



Example of Bad attempt:
"Jared swung his sword to hit William" Or "Jared swung his sword in a powerful motion, hacking into William's side, creating a large, bleeding wound"

Example of a good attempt:
"Jared threw the bottle in his left hand in a straight, quick motion, hoping to use it as a distraction as he ran forward, swinging his shortsword in a counterclockwise arc from the right, attempting to hack into William's side"

Example of Bad Reply:
"William dodged aside" OR "The bottle missed William, failing to hit him, as he grabbed the incoming sword with his gauntleted hand, easily wrenching it from his opponent" (Assuming you disarm an opponent is just as bad as assuming you hit)

Example of Good Reply:
"William moved out of the way of the bottle just in time, however the trick worked as the incoming sword easily hit his side, causing him to be knocked down from the blow. Luckily, his leather armor prevented the damage from being too serious" OR "William saw the bottle coming ahead of time, and moved his right hand to knock it aside, as he moved his gauntleted left hand toward the sword swing, attempting to grab and wrench it from Jordan's hand"

NOTE: If you confer with your opponent via PM and work something out there, note it OOC and use that to assure Godmodding isn't suspected. Like if you and your opponent both think you'll win, and you'd like to plan out the fight before hand, then that's okay.

But if you want to just have at it without previously planned things then the T1 concept is a VERY good guideline. Never assume you hit, and unless it's a fairly obvious tough situation to get by, don't try to make it seem impossible to get past. and ALWAYS, ALWAYS remember to take your hits and remember how much your character can take. A 12 year old body even if it was pumping weights for half of it's life will undoubtedly have less a damage sustaining capability then that of a 26 year old who's been training most of his or her life.

So even if it's fiction, take into consideration everything about your character and what your character does, and make sure you know the above system.

Probably, I don't really play KoF. I mostly play Soul Calibur, MK, or SSB: Brawl with Tetsano and Kiba whenever I can.

But while playing Kiba left early telling us we should leave to meet him at his house. Tim and I kept playing so this added a fun scenario in my head:


"Ok, Tetsano...I can either A. Be on time for my date which will determine the future of my relationship with her OR B. Continue playing KoF.........Tetsano...prepare to be pwned"

Yes you can. The healers should have some awesome magical teleporting skill. I think that would be the only way. Unless we're having one fight at one time. In that case set up near the one fight. Though I don't really think that is the case. I think we'll be having multiple fights going on around the same time. So I think teleportation may be your only option.

I thought about this after making the spanish fighter ( well not right after today really) I wanted to make a russian fighter with o fighting style and was subdued to lots of pain for months until by a terrorist group until being saved. His weapon wuld be brass knuckles but I think having two people in this type of Rp would get confusing......

Huh, must've not looked at that guy. =o Even so, he has to have it in his mouth to eat it, and that can't happen when he's trying to dodge an arm with literally two tons of force backing it. Even if he gets a bite, I'm sure the momentum of the swing would at least daze him, or give him a really powerful headache, or a bleeding lip/nose. But that time another arm could be on it's way.

Not to say my character can totally own a mech, no, but with his body and chi, he could at least use some power to boost his strength to stop a blow, and his experience/perception to duck under the second, if he hasn't released a 'Powah Geyser' by then, or something similar. Not to say he'd always be so lucky, but with a sturdier body, he could take a few hits with his Chi manipulation outflowing his energies to bulk his muscles, harden them, or even null the pain possibly. But damage is damage, so it might take a while.

That could make sense Kei. I was thinking that I could make an adult Android with super strength and speed, made of of artificial tissues. It wouldn't be able to use Chi, or supernatural powers, but his artificial frame would give him some advantages in turn for his deficiency.

Advantages like, pain not being a factor, pressure points would be useless in stopping him, but possibly still damaging. His superior strength and speed would be like Dyne hyped up on some Chi, but that would depend on how much of his efficiency he activates. So I suppose in a way, by leveling his power usage he could make the illusion that he has supernatural power in the form of scientific/artificial power. Perhaps he runs on a fusion core, a nuclear energy core, though fictitious in it's ability to keep stable and even diffuse after large amounts of damage.

How would that sound?

You continue fighting even if you lose. By what I think I understand of Seikyu's whole idea was people will be facing others, even if they lose, as his point system makes it so- at the end of the time whoever has the most points goes to the final round.

So essentially, even if your character loses a single match that doesn't mean you've lost the whole tourney. That's why I didn't make a secondary character so soon, as having two T1 battles at the same time makes it a little weird in a post, separated or not. You have to keep both settings in mind, both positionings, and so forth. That leads me to my next answer...

Unless that's an android or the kid's main focus in using his chi/power/etc was being a punching bag/like stone/otherstuff, a pre teen isn't expected to stand after such a tremendous force. Let alone more then twice at the most, so if that player would keep it going without justifiable reason, that could be god-modding.

Lucy-Lueing: Someone claims to dodge everything thrown at them, never being hit. That's understandable if someone isn't good at setting up a situation for a hit via T1 rules, literally, if you don't have the capability then it's just like a real fight- it's by your skills as much as your fighter's. But if you end up getting someone into multiple, pretty damn believably tight and barely negotionable spots that his character cannot handle via what his data is and such- and yet he manages to completely dodge it all then that's lucy lueing. You wouldn't expect a lug of a fighter larger then three men be able to completely dodge a giant blast or a giant falling tree, at the very least not completely. Unless that lug knows how to teleport, and focus when in danger in order to do so.

So, when you suspect it, report it to the GM or Co-GM's.

How would that sound............Completely awsome. In my case though being a cyborg I could just say he still has a heart but that would also mean that I could take more hits than a human but less than your android.

It is a lot to take into consideration. I think the station thing would be for the best, if Seikyu will allow androids/cyborgs, and there are suposed to be lots of healers so I guess everyone would get a fair chance

He allowed a Kangaroo, didn't read the history but I guess it's a genetic experiment. There's a guy who was a government experiment as a human weapon. I doubt he'd mind a low-tech cyborg or a prototype Android with artificial organics and what not. He did allow A.B.A, which is a creation with mercury for blood. And he allowed 12-15 year olds to boot.

I doubt he'll say no to it so easily. xD Besides, Shobu and me are the Co-GMs and he gave us the powah to accept it. I talked with him about an android character before and as long as it isn't too over-the-top he seemed fine with it. As long as the backstory is detailed, as to the how and why, and such.

I am using it hahahahahahaa. You have to have confidence in the fact that you win. So you can have some sort of strength in yourself. If you think you're going lose you're going to lose. If you think I'm going to give it my 100% and try my hardest likely that confidence will either give you more strength when you lose or you win.

Yes, either T1 with your foe or plan out a victor before hand via PM. If you plan out a victor then you should mark it OOC that you planned it out, and carry on as normal.

Artificial in this case;

Not born by womb of female human, created otherwise, contains AI; or a human with cybernetic/robotic parts. These sort of characters I have just generalized as Artificial. Robots don't fall out of women's wombs, unless put there otherwise... Which is a little weird and just not natural.

The skin on your arms is natural skin. And android's skin, would be artificial. Silicone, or some sort of substance similar.

As for Kei's question, you don't have to state the victor ahead of time (You have to agree on a victor, but you don't have to tell everyone else), just play it out and we'll see.

Uhm... I'm not exactly sure as to what you are asking but I'll offer answers for several different ways of interpreting your question.

1. When you make a character you generally play that character. 'You' don't exist in the RP, 'your character' does. So, you are 'behind' the character when it comes to writing down their part of the story.

2. Unless, you are asking about a remote control device, which, isn't necessary for AI if it's of high enough technology and program. But I'm sure it's possible that a robot is being controlled by a human some distance away, it's feasible.

3. Perhaps you misunderstood a part of the conversation, any 'artificial characters' which I've been talking about, were character ideas for me to role play as. Not NPCs. Though it could be possible to have NPCs as such.

Hence the point of playing the role of someone else, the very core of roleplaying or RPing. The immersion into the world, not of you physically, but you taking on the role as your character.

That's why I usually go into a lot of detail with my characters (And their posts) because it makes it easier for me to become immersed in the fantasy when my character makes sense and reflects what I want him/her to reflect. On the other side when something isn't clear when it should be clear in an RP, it annoys me because it upsets not only the mood of the RP but also the flow of how it goes. Imagine your favorite movie on DvD skipping BIG time and a lot. That's a good comparison.

If something is 'supposed' to be unclear, like a hidden plot element, th shards of a story, the way the clues point to leading to a solved mystery, etc- That's all a part of the story and generally includes a good amount of detail in itself. Which is awesomesauce.

Yeah, I know a lot of girls do a lot of guys wrong but that goes both ways. I've been used by so many guys but I don't blame all guys for that, I just blame those guys who have done wrong to me. So things happen, please don't blame all us woman for it.
