This is my first attempt at a wallpaper which I made on a lark, didn:t notice until it was too late that I made the brushes too big...

Basicly, I think it sucks. Ah well... This is the only way to learn...

Bit too simple. You didnt really do much. Extraction over gradient, vectored shaped brushes blurred with text on top. Do more. Blend, more color, change the blue to something warmer.

yeah it's true that it's simple. There's too much going on with the arrows in the bg lol. To be honest I was too distracted to look at her. But keep practicing and learn new techniques and you'll be able to get some things out.

Actually I like the simpleness. I do agree that the background is a little too distracting from the focal point. I think it would look a little better if you shift everything a little to the right, otherwise the art looks good.

=] I think it's fine to the right. Well. Wait that probably only applies to me because I always look to the left even though I'm a rightie (right handed). But, I'm sure it'll look better with warmer colors, since the bg is orangie red goodness.

Try adding more shapes than just arrows and circles. It'd help.

lol, ya, I did what I know, which is nothing. I also prefer doing signatures, I did this in like, 15 minutes...
This is basically a bunch of downloaded gimp brushes with an effect in the background. I don't know anything beyond that, really. I cannot, to save my live, find any good gimp tutorials. Is photoshop the same, to a point where I could just use some photoshop tuts? Does anyone know?

Photoshop is better and it's easier to use. Also, there are more tutorials available for Photoshop than for GIMP.

You say you do signatures. And when I look at your wallpaper, it looks more like a signature than a wallpaper. Nice large extract taking up the focus, gradient as background, a bunch of vector brushes, all blurred to make the focus stand out, and that text placed beside the focus. Serated is right. you'll need to do more than that. A signature is NOT a wallpaper. That means the concepts used to make a sig are not directly applicable to walls. You'll need to twist them a bit to suit the concept of a wallpaper. Well, atleast in the case of a vector-type wall ^^;

Now I don't know much about vector walls, so I cant exactly help you out too much. But good try all the same. It is the only way to learn, isn't it :3

I to am learning so my comment will be brief. Nice work on the extraction. The background is a little busy but I am not sure what to suggest. Perhaps see if you could use the word Tiger in Japanese? I just finished watching this series yesterday and Aisaka Tiaga is my favorite character on the series... Can't wait to see how this wallpaper progresses! Again, nice extraction.

I like how you made the background, but it seems like you 'just put Taiga there and got over with it' to me. The background doesn't really seem to fit her well and by far the background has the wrong colours to match Taiga herself.

The background itself looks very nice, I like how you got to play with those brushes, even though as you say you're not that experienced.
On the top however I see that they get blurry, so be careful with it.

And Taiga? Taiga's just...uhm... there, lol.
