I've decided to make a wallpaper with this specific extract because I always loved how powerful it looked.

Now this is my problem.
Almost everything is scratch (excluding the extract and the moon).

I REALLY need some opinions on how to make it look better.
It's been way too long since I've been Photoshopping.

Shes a bit bright against the background. I would add a few things of grass that are a bit brighter to even it out.

The stars also bother me a bit. Since the moon is bright, it should out-shine the stars, so I think it would look better if the stars grew more dense the further they are away from the moon.

Id like the moon to be vectored. It sticks out that its an extraction ^_^;

And finally, the mountains in the back are very oddly shaped.

I love the dark floral stuff in the bg. Its a nice touch ;3

Hope that helps =D

use that to make the stars

Maru's right, she's pretty bright comparatively, so I'd suggest giving her a slightly blue hue to match the bg.

Well, you already have my nice long reply at YYA. Try again and post it up. I just know this one is going to be a great wall ^^

Good luck :3

Fix the stars as other people said and make the moon lower and less photorealistic. Some highlights, accenting the mountain shape and more of the grass would be nice, too, as the middle plane seems to be nonexistent here.

I agree with muzo, add some more details and make moon less photo realistic, by the way i loved the darkness and theme of the wallppaer, its great, with few changes here and there it will be awsome .

I really don't see a problem with it lol but maybe make the sword shiny...?

Version 2.

Took a lot of advice from just about everywhere.
Hopefully this will prove to be satisfactory. Since I actually spent about three hours on this rather than just 30 minutes on the other.

few things on perspective.

If its midnight and the moon is out and full, the horizon would not be lighter than the middle of the sky. the moon area would be the brightest part of the sky.

The grass on her left side the perspective seems a bit off to me, and one of the brushes doesn't have the bottom covered well.

I know its nitpicky, but as the great Muzzy Von Doom, Monarch of Latveria, has taught me, its those tiny things that make the wallpaper AWESOME, instead of Good.

I agree with the points Mina made and thats really all I see now. It should be a quick fix ;3

But overall, the wall looks fantastic now! Im loving the moon btw x3

make the moon more glowing and put some glowing stars too that would the background more beautiful:D

The second one's definitely better, but something is bothering me about the girl. She's... hard lines, if that makes any sense. She's sharply defined and so much brighter than the muted and subdued background. Might just be personal preference.

It's better in lots of ways, but I still think she needs more blue and some what darken the tone so it fits the background with it being at night. And also if the moon (as someone has mentioned) could gain some shine, I'm sure it'll look great =]
