View Full Version : In Need Of Help

Okok... i've been working on this wallpaper for a couple days now. I started cutting the picture out and then put it on the wall, everything was dandy.
But then I had a mental block and didn't hav a clue of what to put on the background. Ive tried many things, changed it a billion times but I just can't get the look I want (I don't even know what that look is)

And I was hoping you guys could help me out a little.... any ideas?

[And I know I have to do something about the plain black background... I had lots of things there once, but then it just started looking crowded and crazy...]

looks fine the way it is. maybe you could lower her glow a bit though.

i dont like the black background ... its not fiting with the blue i think

The glow around the tech stuff should get canned, it just doesn't fit. The glow on the character should be reduced to about 2 or 3 pixels. The black background could be turned a shade of blue to match the blue on the character, maybe a blue gradient.

for the bg, you should use the color of the eye of the chara(blue and a light hue of water-green), a gradient of blue, and maybe you can add a slight white grill, like a waving one..

They've all taken the words right out of my mouth -_- Just rework the background and the glow and the techness

Thanx for the help... the wallpaper is starting to look better now

I got rid of the black and added a bluey/purpley/pinky gradient.... im thinking of doing something to the gradient but im not sure yet
I Got rid of the ugly thick glow from the person and the bar thingy... and just made a small one around the person
Umm... i think i changed the colour of the bar, but i forget

Anyway... Have a sneak peek

2nd version is much better! The only thing that bothers me (other than alot of negative space) is she's floating...maybe add a shadow to plant her down.

hmm looks really good now !

I tried to fill up the space by putting stuff there... (good explanation <_< )
And i didn't know how to put a shadow on the character with a glow there... It looked funny to me ~~ So I took the glow off, and put a shadow there instead

your style is very similar to mine (except you dont use nearly as many boxes as me ;) ). Great to see another one that uses cutesy pics! Now... if only someone else will do yaoi... muhahaha!

Anyway, to the wallpaper! : the colors are great, the text box is great, the monotone images are great, and the stars are fun. How about giving the stars more depth? Like, adding other colors, a glow, etc.

heh good job so far, like pooky was saying I think the stars are a little blan. The girl is just too cute for me though gives me cavities just looking at her. :P

Well, i got glowing on the little funny space filler things
I think it looks funny, but i like it :P

Check it out

actually, that's a pretty good start! did you try giving it a purple-ish glow instead of a white? just curious about how it would look

It's pretty nice, but maybe do the purple glow thing would look better.
And Pooky, when the subject is boxes, no one can beat ya. lol =P

12-06-2003, 06:19 PM
If it's purple glow you want, it's purple glow you'll get
Here it is in purple

12-06-2003, 06:22 PM
i think the purple looks better because it matches the purple in the background. what do ya'll think?
