Looking for some ideas

I have an image that I would like to create a wallpaper with but I am stuck on just what I can use for the background. This image is of Mizore Shirayuki from Rosario + Vampire. For those not familiar with her character, she is a snow lady, capable of controlling ice in its various forms. She creates the occasional snow storm, freezes an occasional character. She is in in love with Tsekune, one of the series main characters and is rivals with 3 other girls for his affections.

Sorry for my rablings, I have only seen one Rosario wallpaper here.. :D I would like to hear ideas for backgrounds, yes, I'm still a bit green at this :(. Thanks

I suggest a lonely scene, perhaps an empty spot in a park blanketed in snow. An empty bench, naked trees and a single antique street lamp (ones u find in europe), might do it. Make it blurry because her face is the focus. Snowfall may make additional drama, both on background and at the forefront. Not too many tho, we dont want a blizzard. :laugh:

That's just my suggestion tho.

Thank you for the input... Here is the next iteration of the image. I do like the idea of snow and hope to add it soon. Still learning the ins / outs of Gimp.

The snowy background I think suits well, some of the scenes in the anime are similar.

try to make your background leaning on her hair color, to make it less "dead", ne? and try experimenting on effects to make your background create an illusion that it's actually "part" of the anime. (if that made sense to you :D)

Got a chance to tinker some more with the image... I adjusted to colorization of the background to be more of a purple hue. Also applied a "cartoon" like effect on one version and a "waterpaint" effect on another version.

I appreciate any input you have..
